So much fun. The owner is a sweetheart and the bartender was completely the life of the party.

A belated review for my favorite Philly brewery that's off the beaten path!…read more Unless you live in the area, plan on meeting friends during one of their many events, or need to chill with some good brews after a successful Wissahickon hike, then this brewery is one that you're likely not going to visit due to it not being near much else. And honestly that's the only thing that keeps Wissahickon Brewing from being a perfect five (and is also why I need to check out their newly opened Fishtown branch). But once you arrive you're transported to a good sized indoor/outdoor brewery space that uses all of the space that it has to perfection. Definitely check out their calendar to scope out the vast amount of food trucks that they play host to throughout the month. but other events might include an open mic night, yoga, or bands playing during vendor markets. For beers I love that they don't rely to heavily on IPAs while offering s good amount of brews that play to the seasons. Favorites of mine include the Sunnyside Mexican lager, the Devil's Pool Double IPA, the Wigwam Hazy IPA, and the their various Frux fruited beers.

This is a cute little brewery that also serves coffee. Their beer is good and fairly priced, even…read moreif they don't have a ton of unique offerings and it's more just your standard sort of brews. They have lots of outdoor seating which is good if you have kids or dogs. I'll probably be back.

As a jazz lover, I was intrigued when I saw they have Jazz music on Sundays during brunch so we…read morestopped by to check it out. Arriving shortly after the restaurant opened, we were seated quickly and given the choice of indoor or outdoor seating. While the inside is dark, moody and well designed with an open kitchen, we decided to dine outside to get as close to the band as possible. We were greeted by a lovely dining area that has both covered seating and tables with umbrellas, all of which overlook the Schuylkill. The waitress came by quickly and took our food and drink orders but then went MIA for the rest of the time we were there. All of the service we received, including the busser, was brutally slow and nearly non-existent. With a view inside the restaurant, it seemed like there were a lot of employees but not a lot of productivity. Now onto the food... (which also took quite a bit of time to get to us despite the restaurant being pretty empty.) Breakfast Pizza ($18): Pickled peppers, crumbled sausage, mozzarella and fried egg on a neopolitan style crust. This was really good, and while it wouldn't pass the "flop test" the crust was well charged, dough was flavorful and the egg was perfectly fried with runny yolks. 4 out of 5 stars. Classic Pancakes ($12): Butter, powdered sugar and whipped cream. These were a big let down and tasted like a boxed mix. The consistency was on the chewier side, the flavor was flat and the syrup definitely didn't taste like real maple syrup. Also, they skipped the whipped cream. 2 out of 5 stars. Eggs "Your Way" ($8): I opted for scrambled and while they came in a cute little cast iron container, for $8 I was greeted with 2 over scrambled, under-seasoned eggs..The two small slices of oiled toast that came with it were appreciated but also lackluster and could've benefitted from a brush vs drizzle of oil and sprinkling of flaky salt. 1 out of 5 stars. Holy Smokes Cocktail ($14): A blend of mezcal, coffee liqueur and Campari. This was good but lacking a bit on the coffee flavor. 3 out of 5 stars. We waited a good 25 minutes after we finished eating for our waitress to finally come back to the table to check in on us and bring us our check, but luckily we had the jazz band to listen to. All in all, In Riva may have the river views, but it does not quite rival the (muchhh) better brunch spots in the city. Nor does the live jazz make a strong enough case to skip the extra drive into Center City, S. Philly or the beloved Fishtown for better food and far superior service. While the jazz and pizza were good, I won't likely be returning anytime soon.

There are 3 floors with three separate gorgeous eating areas and 3 full service bars. I loved the decorative tequila bottles and the aesthetic of each floor. Definitely worth taking time to explore. We stopped by before catching an amazing show at Fallser Club. We were pleasantly surprised to receive an extra 10% discount on our food by showing our tickets. We had cocktails and got our food to go to eat at the venue. You won't find food pictures from me in this review because due some dietary restrictions my food wasn't packaged as it usually is served. For the next show we will be going early and eating onsite to fully enjoy all Cresta has to offer. We will also make sure to sit on the 3rd floor rooftop level to enjoy the view where the very large windows are opened to enjoy the fresh air when Mother Nature cooperates. Back to to the food and drink. The cocktails are unique, gorgeous and delicious. Each one crafted with garnishes like fresh orange peel and pineapple leaves. Cocktails can be ordered with sugar, salt, or tajan on the rims. I highly recommend the apple cider margarita and the La Kartina hibiscus cocktail. The photos don't even do them justice. I ordered the plantains, deconstructed veggie tacos and a side of Al pastor chicken. I also had a side of the guacamole. The guacamole was so fresh and flavorful and I loved the cheese added to the top. The chicken was flavorful, well seasoned and very colorful. The plantains were the perfect level of sweetness. Now, about that the art! I loved the decor and art. The art around the restaurant and the tshirts employees wore were designed by a bartender who I didn't get to meet. The murals were so colorful and detailed. One was more beautiful than the next. I found a very cool selfie mirror on the 2nd floor that I loved! The artist's insta handle was on the wall as well and is included in my photos. From an accessibility standpoint, the second and third floors can only be reached by stairs and may not be suitable for those with mobility issues. Thank you Cresta for accommodating our large party for cocktails and takeout. I can't wait to come back for the full experience!
