The bartender was extremely friendly and listened to our particular preferences in order to guide us to enjoyable drinks. He was well versed in the specific spirits available and we were happy to hear that they were local (statewide)options. While it was nice outside, we chose to sit indoors since it was empty. It made for a personalized experience in the quiet bar with delicious cocktails. We had the bees knees, old fashioned and espresso martini (with coffee whiskey instead of vodka). Please note that their well gin was particularly floral and do give it a try!

Stopped by Rooster's about an hour before showtime at the Keswick, across the street. It was busy…read moreon a Wednesday, assume that was due to the show. It took a minute to get a table and then waited a little for a server, but once she came by and got the drink and food order, everything went very quickly. I had the falafel wrap, which was excellent, and it came with a side Caesar salad, also excellent. Good prices, too; the 16-ounce Miller Lites were only four dollars each. I'd definitely stop by here again when I'm in Glenside for a show at the Keswick. It's probably a good idea to reserve a table on concert nights. There were only two people in my party and they got us in, but it was very busy, so something to keep in mind for next time.

Pros: Conveniently located right across from the Keswick…read moreTheatre--perfect for a quick bite before a show. It's clearly a neighborhood favorite because it was packed. The bar area was quite large and it appears in the warmer weather that one of the exterior walls retracts. Our server, Rachael, was wonderful: friendly, attentive, and genuinely pleasant. The drink menu included one of my favorite ciders, and the tap lines must be well-maintained because it tasted exactly as it should. The fries were simple but surprisingly good. Cons: Unfortunately, the food itself really missed the mark. The fried pickles were unlike any we've had--and we order them often. They were overloaded with greasy batter that tasted more like a donut than a savory appetizer. The wings were another disappointment. We love wings and usually finish an order easily, but these had an overwhelming vinegar flavor that made them tough to eat. We ended up leaving almost half the order. Overall: The standout of the entire visit was the service. If we could sit in Rachael's section again, we might consider giving the place a second chance--but strictly for the service, not the food.

Overall, the food was delicious and everyone enjoyed their meals -- except for the wings. Since it was Tuesday, they were on the half-price wing special, but they were extremely overcooked, tough, and honestly tasted like leftovers. That was a real disappointment given how good everything else was. Another issue I noticed was in the restroom. Instead of the toilet paper being stocked in the holder, the large rolls were sitting on the back of the toilet, which felt pretty unsanitary. Having to reach behind to grab and unravel a roll that's been handled by many people (and sitting right by the toilet) was off-putting. So while the main dishes were great, I'd caution anyone coming on wing night and hope management takes a closer look at both the wing prep and the restroom setup.

The margarita I had left much to be desired. At this point in the game if you're still using a sweet and sour mix, probably Daly's, then your drink is not going to measure up. I would probably stick to beer or wine. The burger and onion rings were pretty damn good. We had the Captain Morgan and it was juicy and delicious. I would try other things on their menu. Definitely recommended if you're in the area.

Prices are fair other than drink prices which were a little high. The food was delicious and had a nice appearance. The crab on the creamy linguini tasted surprisingly fresh as well. Every staff member was extremely polite as well. I will say, there were a couple individuals who appeared to be regulars that acted as if they were over served and when they left, the bartender said "I love you guys, have a good one," which was a little much even if it's for the sake of getting tips from regulars who aren't responsible enough to hold their liquor properly. The same patrons at the bar were also extremely loud which reminds you that it is a "bar" and not a fancy restaurant despite the amazing food and staff. The food and professionalism from the majority of the staff simply did not match the appearance of the workers who wore personal t-shirts which makes the whole experience feel a lot more casual despite the prices. Regardless we will be back due to the treatment from the staff and the great food!

The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming dim lighting, good music, and the kind of vibe where you can sit for hours without feeling rushed. The burger was easily the highlight. It came out hot, juicy, and perfectly cooked with a nice sear on the outside. The bun was soft but held everything together, and the toppings were fresh and balanced. Every bite had that classic, satisfying burger flavor that makes you slow down and enjoy it. It's the kind of burger that reminds you why simple bar food can still be amazing when it's done right. The drinks were just as good. The bartenders clearly knew what they were doing the cocktails were well mixed, not too strong, not too watered down, and the selection of beers was solid. Whether you're in the mood for a craft beer or a mixed drink, there's plenty to choose from. Overall, it's a great spot if you're looking for a place with excellent burgers, good drinks, and a laid-back atmosphere. Perfect for grabbing dinner with friends or just relaxing with a drink after a long day.

It was quiet on the Friday afternoon when we stopped in for lunch, with just a handful of what appear to be regulars at the bar and an empty dining area. The menu is mainly bar fare with focus on burgers. The cheesteak egg rolls were sone of the best we have had in our travels and the burgers were thick and juicy with a very beefy flavor. The option to have side salad in lieu of fries is a plus. Not sure why so many negative reviews as our disappointments were few, including: no soup of the day, the brisket was way overdone in the burger and the biggest letdown was that they were out of the brownie egg rolls, a solid 3.5 stars for today. Our server was friendly, the food came out hot and quickly and our overall experience was pleasant. I will possibly take a trip back specifically for those brownie egg rolls and hopefully be able to add another star or two.

We went with the 20-piece Southern Country Garlic Wings and the Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls. Overall, the flavor did not disappoint! The wings were incredibly delicious, packed with garlicky Southern flavor and served jumbo style, which was a nice touch. However, I do wish we had asked for them fried hard. The texture would've been much better that way. One small downside was the fatty bits left on the wings before frying, which made them a tad bit annoying to eat. At $26.99 for 20 wings, they were definitely on the pricey side. The Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls had a great crunch, but they were extremely small. Flavor-wise, they were decent, though I've had better. At $13.99, I expected a little more in size and portion. Despite a few minor critiques, we enjoyed our meal and appreciated the no fuss dinner option. Would I come back? Possibly, but next time I'm asking for those wings fried extra hard! Rating: 3.5
