Was very excited to try this restaurant. I was missing travel and fish n chips from my last visit to Brighton so when I spotted the pics and menu on Yelp it was on. It was an unseasonably warm day today in the Philly area. A gorgeous 73 degrees after having had 3 snow storms within the past few months, a patio lunch was just what the doctor ordered. Sadly, this establishment was a huge disappointment. When we arrived it was 1:15pm. There were a total of 2 patrons outside at a table and one person inside at the bar. We sat at a two top in their back patio. After about 10 minutes our drink order was taken and two more tables were filled at the patio. After 15 more minutes the server came out and took our menu order and drink orders for the other tables. About 10 minutes later the server took the dining orders of the other tables. Approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes after sitting down, the server brought food orders out for one of the other tables. Then 10 minutes later brought food orders for the other table that sat well after us. She then mentioned our order was up next and that there was only one person in the kitchen. By this time the inside restaurant had filled up and several of the tables already had their food as well. This is a total and complete fail for a restaurant to be run in this manner. This poor server seemed to be running the bar, waiting tables and running food. She was literally running from task to task. We left starving and frustrated after an hour and forty minutes. Paid for our drinks, told the server it wasn't her fault. What a horrible support system for this staff. Management should be ashamed to staff a restaurant with 2 people for front, back of house and service. Don't do indoor/outdoor dining if you cannot handle the capacity. read more

My boyfriend and I came the other day for Kings's Corner's Birthday and it was a real treat. All of their food was 50% off and they had a "mystery beer in a bag" random bottle deal for $2.00 which I thought was very cool. We got the fried pickles to start which were piping hot, and the batter was relatively thin. I think those most places think that more is better but the ratio of batter to pickle was spot on. For my meal I got the KC burger with Swiss, bacon, mushrooms, BBQ sauce and crispy onion straws and they served it on a poppyseed bun (or maybe an everything bagel??) and my boyfriend got the Cajun chicken pasta, with linguini, roasted tomatoes, asparagus, mushrooms and grilled chicken tossed in a name that included the word Cajun, but the sauce was otherwise good. My fiancé and I have been coming here consistently for almost a year now. Over the past few months the service and food quality has declined. I think we met the manager, she's a dark haired women who usually is hanging by the bar. Anyway, she's not the most approachable or welcoming which feels like the tone of the place. The past couple of times we sat at the bar like we usually do, our food has been late, cold, wrong or just not appetizing. I always hate being that person to send food back but cold nachos... ehh. The bar tender that is usually there is cold and a little rude. Seems like she doesn't want to be there. There's a younger blonde that is a waitress there. She is always sooo nice and personable. Honestly the only person like that there. Granted, we only sat in the restaurant once. I think the serves, although they are young, try their best. The bartenders, not so much. It turned out we arrived too early and they dim the lights and turn up the music after 11PM. The air conditioner was on strong and I wish I had a jacket. I came here with friends during Happy Hour. The service was good and the waitress was friendly. She allowed my friend to sample a drink as well as answer all our questions and requests. I got the $5 Shrimp Risotto and $5 red sangria. I am very picky with my alcoholic drinks, but the red sangria was sweet and smooth. It was so good that I ordered another glass. Though the main star was the Shrimp Risotto. Despite the fact that the portion was very small and they only put one shrimp, it didn't really matter because the risotto was very delicious. Honestly, I cannot rave enough about the taste- it was one of the best I've ever had. As well, outside, a band was playing and it was interesting just to sip away at your drink and listen to the music. The band was really nice that they interacted with you during their break. This bar is definitely one of my top go-to bars in Jenkintown. The menu is awesome, my favorite thing to order are the dumplings they are so good!! Honestly everything on their menu is good and decently priced. The service is always great and the outdoor seating is nice with umbrellas. For entrees, I had the chicken and vegetable pot with puff-pastry on top. It wasn't seasoned in any spectacular way, and it didn't have a ton of chicken, but it was enjoyable overall.
