We were looking for somewhere to eat breakfast and stumbled upon this gem on yelp and saw that it had great reviews and served breakfast until 3pm. When we walked in we were greeted right away, showed the menu and pointed in the right direction to their delicious coffee. It was the best coffee I had while visiting OBX. We each had a breakfast burrito. My boyfriend, a vegetarian, was able to create his own burrito. The breakfast burritos were delicious and had us full for days. We enjoyed our breakfast on their patio and the man that helped us was very accommodating and nice. Even brought our breakfast out for us while we waited on the patio. Wish we would have found this place sooner. Will definitely visit next time we visits OBX. read more

We got one of the steam pots for dinner and it was fantastic! It included lobster tails, clams, mussels, scallops wrapped in bacon, sausage, corn and potatoes. Everything was cooked perfectly and the flavor was amazing. The owner, Toby, was very nice and accommodating to our schedule of when we wanted to pick up the dinner, despite the fact that he was also preparing food for a wedding and was very busy!! You will not find this place in any of the beach magazines, which means that it's legit on its own and doesn't need to promise "20% off" lunch or dinner coupons to bring customers in. We found this restaurant on Yelp and based on customer reviews, we wanted to give it a try and we are glad we did. Swung by 10 oh 6 earlier today for a quick breakfast with friends after checking out of our vacation home. It was a stressful morning and we needed something easy and quick. 10 oh 6 completely exceeded my expectations. The entire staff was so friendly and welcoming and the service was impeccable. They were very patient with us as we took our time ordering and made the extra effort to make us feel comfortable and at home. 2 of us built our own breakfast burritos which were INSANELY good, 1 had the biscuits and gravy plate and 1 had a pastrami Swiss and egg on a bagel. Everything was excellent and everyone was very happy. The iced coffee was wonderful as well- highly recommend it. We found this little gem on Yelp so with the high ratings and being close to us at the time we figured to give it a try. Boy are we glad we did. Toby was super friendly and a darn good cook to boot. Unfortunately there's nowhere to sit indoors to eat, so we ate on the outdoor furniture that was soaked from TS Hermine. If you're a fan of soft shell crab sandwiches, then this is the place to go! We got 5 soft shell sandwiches to go for lunch. They came with lettuce, tomato, and Toby threw in a wonderful spicy chipotle mayo on the side. The soft shells were large compared to some of the sandwiches I've had on the island and the rolls were substantial. We called in our order and it was ready when we got there. The staff was friendly and helpful. Next time I'm there, I'm definitely going to try the "dirty fries!" I highly recommend! This is one of Kill Devil Hill's best kept secrets! read more

We tried to go to this place on a Tuesday for breakfast, but they were closed (also closed on Wednesdays). The owner came out and was super friendly, though, apologizing and offering another suggestion for a place to eat. We went back today for lunch. We ordered a burger, breakfast burrito, and chicken tenders. It was all fantastic. The owner was super friendly again, and the food was among the best we had while at OBX. It is on our list to go back again! Just a note: It really is a take-out spot. There is little seating outside and no public restrooms (due to city codes). read more

My husband and I used Ten O Six as the caterers for our August 16th wedding. Since we were dissed by our previous caterer one month before it, we were in a bind, as we needed to feed 60 people all week and 150 for the big day. Toby came to our rescue and was willing to take on our last minute, large request. We signed the contract and blindly went into their restaurant a few days before our wedding week (yes, week). Much to our delight, that first bite into the pulled-pork sandwich proved that we had made the right decision. Delicious! We had a casual menu all week with cuisines ranging from Italian, Mexican, Asian, and straight up NC BBQ. They knew what they were doing, particularly with the Italian and BBQ. We served our favorite things at the wedding: tacos, NC and Northern BBQ, spaghetti, and last but not least, mac n' cheese (sooooo good). All were terrific - just make sure to ask somebody to save a plate for the bride and groom. We had been previously concerned about the logistics of feeding 60 people for 6 days and 150 for the finale (in the 4x4 area, nonetheless), but Ten O Six handled all of it with ease. Overall, we had a great experience. We loved Toby and the food was awesome. We plan on having a reunion in a few years and when we do, we will use Ten O Six again. Cheers! read more

I will start this review by saying that I run a restaurant and am well aware that things happen. That being said; part of the restaurants occupation when things go wrong is to fix them and ensure they don't happen again. This cannot be said for "ten o six". We ordered a large sum of food just before two and was told it'd take about twenty minutes for it to be ready. We arrived maybe 15 minutes later and added a small salad and an order of their garlic fries. Maybe five minutes later we received the food and were very excited to get home and dive into a (very expensive) order. As soon as we began to eat, we noticed every piece of shrimp and crab were severely overcooked. I called and let them no how poor the quality of the food was and was then told that it was my fault the food was over cooked because we ordered a salad and fries. Seriously? I was then offered a $30 refund which I suppose is better than nothing but when subtracted from a $165 order I'm hardly left with a leg to stand on. Pathetic. Never again. read more
