There was a line out the door at 9:30 on a Tuesday- enough said! This was my first visit and I had never heard of Temple Coffee before, but the people in front of us filled me in on it being a semi-local specialty shop for top notch roasts. I got one of their specialty cream-soda cold brew concoctions and it reminded me of an Italian coffee soda. It was great! Probably not the right environment for the 7 kids my friends and I had in tow, but they did really enjoy the chocolate croissant and the bacon scone (I had gotten for myself, haha). Temple is one of my favorite coffee shops to visit. The cold brew is my #1 drink and always has a nice smooth flavor. I wish they had more food items and not just pastries, but when I do crave a pastry, the lavender muffin is outstanding. Prices are a higher than normal coffee shops, but I think their quality is top-notch, so if you care about coffee, it is worth it. I visited this location late morning on a weekday. It's located in little plaza with a large parking lot so parking free and plentiful (probably the easiest to find parking at among all the Temple locations). This was also probably the cleanest location. This location has plenty of tables and outlets available so I was able to get work done. I'm assuming it's generally easier to get a table to work here since it isn't close to a college. I got a cream cheese pastry per recommendation. I wish I got it warmed up; it was a bit soggy. Otherwise, I got my usual order of black cold brew with light ice that I get at all Temples (can't ever go wrong!). read more

I finally came to Temple after living in Sacramento areas for 3 years. It is exactly what I thought it would be, chic hipster vibes. I miss home (SoCal) so it does remind me more of the OC/LA ambiance. It is a little pricey about a $1 more than a cup at Starbucks for an iced latte. The service was fast and friendly! The moment I stepped in not even a minute, the barista asked me what I wanted and I'm not used to that. I'm used to the cashier taking my order then it being made. The drink was 3/5 for almost $8, it could've been better. At this location, it was crowded and a bunch of college kids there assuming from Folsom Lake College studying so I didn't get a chance to sit and enjoy. So glad they opened a Temple Coffee in Folsom and I'm embarrassed to say that I visited this location three times in three days. The first visit was in the morning on a Saturday and we ordered an iced oat milk matcha latte, an iced Mexican mocha, a coffee cake donut, and a cream cheese danish. We sat outside on the couch and thoroughly enjoyed our drinks and the cream cheese danish. The second visit was later that afternoon after we dropped off our car at a tire shop. We ordered another iced oat milk matcha latte and a Great Day mocktail. Both were refreshing and I made sure to pick up one of their travel mugs. The third and final visit was on Monday where I convinced my in-laws to stop by after lunch at Mas Taco. This time, we ordered two iced oat milk matcha lattes and two matcha affogatos, one with lavender gelato and the other with horchata. So good! I'll be back again soon, Temple Coffee! read more

From the broad menu of beverages and the delicious baked goods, and then the obviously talented and engaging staff, we thoroughly enjoyed Temple Coffee. I remember the Temple founder when he worked as a barista at the Naked Lounge Coffee in midtown before he branched off opening his own coffee place, Temple Coffee Roasters in downtown. That was nearly 20 years ago and leading the third wave roasters in Sacramento. Fast forward, Temple now has 8 locations. The latest location opened this summer in Folsom, CA. It is about 3 miles off the East Bidwell exit off Highway 50. Awesome place for hard core coffee connoisseurs and just the average Joe (like me). Staff are very down to earth and helpful. Welcoming vibe. My fave is the Guatemalan El Diamante pour over. I can drink that stuff straight. But not bad either with some suga' n milk. All their various origins have very distinctive flavor profiles. Yum! They got you covered with coffee and tea. They even have some baked goods. The interior is pretty. Beautiful aesthetics. Bonus is that they have a gated side patio next to a green patch of grass. The traffic noise is minimal. The patio tables are spread apart, not to crowded. But oh my, the metal patio chairs took my keister some getting use to. I couldn't quite get comfortable. They were very stylish looking though. LOL. read more

Kudos to Temple for staying open during the holidays. I was craving coffee during our stay in Folsom and had a hard time finding a coffee shop. Fret not, Temple came to the rescue!! The cousins, hubby, and I all ordered the custom honey & cinnamon oat milk iced lattes which was recommended via a Yelp review. Although the drink was not on the menu, the staff knew exactly which drink we were talking about and made it. I also had a vanilla latte the morning after which was also great! Aside from the delicious lattes, the staff is what made us come back the day after. They were all super sweet and had positive energy spewing throughout the beautiful cafe. Five big stars for this fabulous location. It's Temple after all, so you should already expect that the coffee is top notch and the service is outstanding. Plenty of vegan pastries available as well, so that's also a major plus. I'm a fan of the sizeable outdoor patio with large tables for groups, as this would be a great place to meet up with a group of friends. I also love that the shop is in an area of Folsom I find myself frequenting more- it's five minutes off the freeway and super close to both the Palladio shopping center and my favorite REI location. This location is just as pretty as the rest of them! They all have their own feel and this one was very light & bright. I loved how much outdoor seating there was compared to other locations too. The staff are friendly & efficient here as well. They had a large selection of coffee beans, many of which I didn't recognize at other stores, including some large 5 lb bags! This particular store is close to a lot of things in Folsom too so I would definitely be back when I'm at Palladio across the street. read more

Long overdue review for a coffee shop that really supersedes any coffee shop in the area. I am always delighted at the first sip of any drink that I order at this location. Connection at the counter is also special and not rushed. I always feel like the baristas actually want to talk to me and hear about my background rather than feeling like it is forced. Watching my drink being made is also really comforting and makes me so much more excited to drink it. The layout is really convenient with tables of 2 and 4 for individual workers was well as groups of folks who want to study or work together. As you sit and enjoy your coffee, there is a worker who comes around and busses tables and checks on you, it is quite refreshing. It feels nice to be here. The staff used to be bad but new people were hired so that problem seems to be solved. I'm paying more than 50 cents for my drink to be sweetened and it literally isn't, not a sugar freak but how come the sweetness is different every time. I will try my friend's exact same order but his somehow has more vanilla than mine. Not only this but they overfill the drinks every single time with the to-go cups. You would think it's more drink but it's all ice and trying to puncture your straw into the lid will cause your drink to end up exploding onto your clothes. The indoor and outdoor space is great for enjoying some coffee with friends and family. I typically brew my own coffee at home and enjoy the beans at Temple. They're well balanced and always freshly roasted from my experience. Temple carries a variety of single origin and blends for their beans. If you're lucky, they sometimes have coffee for you to sample. The staff is knowledgeable about their roasts, so feel free to ask questions. Excellent new location. Love the outdoor patio the most as it is spacious and has good shade with large trees. Parking is good as this location is in a shopping center area. Interior seating is not bad but overall a little less room overall than a few of the other locations. The outside patio is where I like to hang out the most. The wire chairs are not comfortable over time but the tables are nice in style, functionality, and number. From the morning and most of the day, several of the tables are in shade. The wind is light and just great for this time of year. Staff has been helpful and pleasant for the times I have been here so far. Easy to order. Pastries are good selection. You won't be disappointed The coffee was a 10/10, but so was the service and the atmosphere. The staff was helpful and when I said I wanted a pour over she recommended her favorite, and indeed it was delicious I came here two mornings in a row and got two different pour overs. The second time there was a line to the door but it moved quick and even the other customers were nice and friendly. I enjoyed my coffee in their outdoor seating area and watched the rain. There is plenty of parking in front as they share a parking lot with a large shopping plaza. Upon entering, the place was clean and modern. We were quickly greeted and asked if we needed assistance with figuring out what to order. I ordered an orange cream cold brew because it sounded so interesting! It was a hot day so the drink was very refreshing and the orange cream definitely made the drink unique. The baristas were sweet, friendly, and welcoming. Love this new coffee spot in Folsom. My family and I went during their grand opening and it was so fun! They had prizes and free gelato for the kids. There was limited seating due to the "grand opening" but we had a picnic blanket in the car and enjoyed our coffees and baked goods under the shade. The establishment is very modern with lots of merchandise, beans, cups, mugs, etc to look at/ purchase while waiting in line. Lots of coffee, tea and other beverage options to choose from. I'm not a coffee drinker but I come in for the enlightenment (green tea steeped in soy milk with honey) and matcha lattes. Employees are always kind and helpful. I used to always get the lemon lavender muffins at the Fair Oaks location and they were delicious. Haven't had one for years and was a bit disappointed when I got one this week.
