Called Friday morning and the receptionist was amazing and got someone to our house that morning. Full diagnostic told us the compressor went bad. Our unit was 13 years old, so it was about time for a new system. We decided to replace whole system as replacing a compressor is quite expensive basically half the cost of a new one. Mike came that night to price out a new system. I got two quotes from other companies. But decided on Shanahan because of their reputation, service as well as pricing. Talked with Mike and Conner (the owner) about our options and they came on a Saturday to install even though they didn't have an opening until Thursday. The owner himself came with a couple guys and replaced our system. They were very polite, did excellent work and we were back up and running. Plus they had very affordable pricing. These guys care! Use 'em. We loved our experience from start to finish!

I had several additional requests which they accommodated such as adding an extra drain line and additional return vent and all the work was done as requested. Since completion of the job, they have come back on routine maintenance visits to keep the system up and running and the cost of which was included with the original work. I therefore. have been very pleased with after-installation service. Separately, I used them for plumbing, specifically replacing a sink faucet, repairing a garbage disposal, and repairing a leaky shower fixture. I was very pleased with this service as well. Especially the garbage disposal because all it needed was a minor turn of a crank to loosen it up instead of a full replacement, which saved me a significant amount of money. Obviously, overall, I'm very happy with their services. I will be using them again and highly recommend.

It's unbelievable but some companies required upfront deposit even before assessment of the issue. Our technician,Brian, was on time, called prior, came with shoe covers, quickly identified problems with toilet, gave us estimates and couple options to think about. I called next morning and next business day he returned and completed repair. Again on time, very professional and leave no dirt or waste after job. Prices are horribly high now everywhere, but plumbing can't be avoided,so their price point is adequate to area, but service is superb. Can't deduct star for high prices, because they are using gas and supplies which are horrible now.

These guys were FANTASTIC! I reached out through yelp's "request a quote" feature and Cong, the…read morebusiness owner, was very responsive. I knew what I needed to get my HVAC fixed (evaporator coil with txv) so I asked them for a quote. While most companies wanted to charge up to $125 to come out and "re-diagnose" (despite having 3 different companies come out), Cong quoted me a price that BLEW THE COMPETITION AWAY. Longer story below if you want to read, but long story short, these guys are honest, honorable businessmen. It's so refreshing to find people that still know how to do good business and make you feel secure about giving them your hard earned money. Look no further than these guys. Trust me, you won't regret it! Here's the longer story. Some of you may find it helpful: Moved into my new place in Oct 2021. In Aug 2022, bam! A/C goes out. It's not blowing cold air. I had houseguests so was eager to get it fixed. Hate to sound cliché, but yes, it was one of the hottest days of the year. Without thinking, I reached out to a company that had good reviews on yelp. This is estimate number 1. Charged me 89 bucks to come out, and told me I needed a txv valve and he could replace it for 1700. He said I could replace evaporator coil with txv for 2700 and get it replaced quicker. I was not wanting to pay that much, especially since I had just moved in, so needless to say I was disappointed. He said "aren't you still under home warranty." Indeed I was, and totally forgot about it. I wish he never said anything because dealing with the warranty company was an ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE. I called the warranty company (HSA a sub of American Home Shield) and paid 100 bucks for another technician to come out, hoping that they would replace the txv. This is estimate number 2. It said in my contract that they would, so I'm thinking it'll cost me 100 bucks to get it fixed. Bingo, right? WRONG. One of the warranty company's vendors comes out, spends all of 10 minutes looking at it, and says "you need a whole new system." I knew that was BS, but if they are going to replace my system at little or no expense to me then I'll take it! I get the call from the warranty company--apparently they will pay for it...BUT...the contractor wants to charge me over 3000 bucks in "modifications" to get the job done. That didn't make any sense to me and I wasn't going for that. After wrestling with the authorizations department at the warranty company I was able to get them to send out another tech from a different vendor for a second opinion. This is estimate number 3. This guy tells me I need evaporator coil with txv, consistent with estimate number 1. So OK cool...I can just get the coil with txv fixed at little or no cost to me, right? WRONG. Warranty company calls and says they will replace the part, but this job needs 1200 bucks for "modifications." I'm like WTF, dude. I was enraged. Not because of the price, but because this is an obvious scam. That's when I called Tran, Air. I wish I had called them first because after a month of dealing with the warranty company in this hot house it would have saved me a ton of stress. I contacted Cong on Thursday and told him what I needed. He said he would pick up the parts and come replace on Sunday. He called me on Friday and said he had a break in his sched for Saturday so he could come then. Sure enough, he came on Saturday, fixed my A/C in 90 minutes (everyone else said it would take 4 hours) and charged me almost half the price to replace evaporator coil with txv than was offered by Estimate 1. Tran Air really came though in the clutch and I am super grateful for their service. Do not hesitate to contact this company. I will refer them to anyone looking for HVAC repair and they are now my go to company for anything HVAC related.

When I pressed them on this, they said that the $185 would be deducted from the final bill *in the event that I chose them.* Of course, this would put me as a customer in an awkward position; they could give me a much higher estimate than others, and effectively strong-arm me into accepting because I've already spend $185. I've worked with many electricians and other contractors, and I have never seen this before. AirPlus may have a good reason for doing this, but it seems shady and precarious to me. For this reason alone, I decided not to work with them. If you're considering working with AirPlus, I strongly recommend getting other estimates, as well. Not only *might* you save money on the actual work, but you most assuredly *will* save money by not having to pay for an estimate upfront.

We have had exceptional follow up from the team. We had a little hiccup with one of our three units installed. We called this morning and they were out right away to correct the error. Thank you to Freddy who I'm pretty sure has been here every day this week to get us up and running and the wedding construction back on track today! I wanted to add the integrity of the company has given us great trust they will stick with us to ensure we are all good to go for wedding day and beyond! Thanks all! This serves as a follow up to my review dated on May 22, 2025 entitled "Nice is not "nice"…read moreanymore". I received a letter I received a follow up letter from Commonwealth of Virginia department of professional and occupational regulation. The letter states that no longer has a viable license at present and as a result, they can no longer proceed with my complaint. That is unfortunate. It is important to note that Nice Heating And Air was recently acquired by Michael Bonsby HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical located in Gaithersburg Maryland. During the acquisition process, I have been immediately deluged with repeated calls following up on providing future maintenance services, not acknowledging or responding to my complaint regarding service delivery. I was informed by three neighbors and friends who had cozy maintenance plans with Nice that they no longer provided various paid services for them, and thus their maintenance plans were ended. The referrals mentioned they took it in stride, by the lack of communication, no longer enroll in the new corporate maintenance programs of any HVAC company. Lesson learned.

They also wouldn't give me a time window for the tech to come. They only give a date and tell you that they will call when they're on their way. This meant that I had to be available all day and couldn't plan anything else. I called the main line and got a human, but she had zero empathy and said that I had to just wait to be contacted when the tech was on his way. When the guy finally got to the house, he told me it would be $350 just to discover the issue. I said no. But before I said no, he told me that my issue could be anything, and he could likely find it within 2 hours, and that I could possibly need a whole new panel (at least $10,000), depending on what he found. He said my panel looked old and potentially overloaded ...despite the fact that this panel has worked just find for over a decade!! The next day, another electrician came out, and for $150 (still high IMHO), he determined, within 20 minutes that the issue was with the line coming into the house from the power company. So, I called the power company, and they came out the same day and fixed their equipment line... FREE.

If you look at my review history, I am very quick to give praise to businesses and grace for…read moreoccasional mistakes. However, the mis-management of this company combined with the lack of attention to detail of the majority of technicians we've had out these past two years has led to repeated customer service failures. I've captured more detail details below if you want more than an overall summary rating. Be forewarned their technicians are nice, and at the end of the appointments, which may only be diagnostic and not actually the fix because they need to wait for parts and then to come back (which has been where the majority of our issues have been), they ask you to give them a five star review so the technician gets a $25 performance gift card, which skews overall service ratings. Most recently our 4 year old, warranty covered, HVAC broke again (4th time since a company bought out by FH Furr installed and FH Furr fixed 3x before). It happened on a Saturday night, and we called first thing Sunday morning. They told us the technician who had the part we needed was off that day so we had to schedule for later in the week. We were out of town 4 days, then the morning of our apt, 45 min into the arrival window, we got a call saying the technician has the wrong motor, they will have to order a new part, and then when they get it in a few days they will call to reschedule. This our final straw but keep reading for more history. Something just like that happened before on our HVAC. But in that case they ordered the wrong part so we had to wait for the first part to come in, then wait for the right part to come in. During another HVAC fix they identified an issue, ordered a new part, installed it, then ID'd a second issue. I appreciated that the technician was forth coming that they should have caught that during the first diagnostic call and apologized we would have to wait for a part again. The fact that they took ownership would have made this fully forgivable if we didn't have so many other issues. They also ordered a part for a fix that was supposed to come in in a few days but I called a week later and it still hadn't come in. I called 4-5 days in a row, then finally I asked to speak to a manager and they said they can use a different, universal part instead of continuing to wait. It wasn't clear why there was such a huge difference from when the first technician said the original part would come in vs the actual timeline, but I suspect based on some of my first calls that the part might not have been ordered at all until I first called to check on it. We had a toilet not fully flushing upstairs and they quoted us $200 to fix it, but recommended the toilet itself may continue to have problems because of the design unless we replace the whole thing, so we should consider that long term. After half an hour on YouTube, and an $8 part from the local hardware store, my husband was able to fix it himself and we haven't had an issue again in the last 6 or 7 months since that issue. A theme you may pick up on is how often I have had to call them for follow up. Some of the technicians will admit that if you don't hear by xx day from dispatch, you should call them and ask if your parts have come in yet. We have definitely found that to be true on both HVAC and toilet calls. In our experience it could also be hours before a manager calls you back if you ask to speak to one. We bought the maintenance membership so we have tried to make this work, but at this point I can't waste anymore time micro managing nor can we rely on them to be responsive or do a job right. Save yourself the stress and money, avoid this company.
