We just had the most excellent experience with this company. We have guests at our house and the a/c quit cooling. We called and they had a technician (Chris) out in about three hours. He was so friendly and knowledgeable. He fixed the problem and the price was quite reasonable. We will use them from now on! Update. 8:30 pm. The house wasn't cooling off. It was stuck at 79. Chris just came BACK out (above and beyond) and assured us that everything is working properly and it's just taking a while to cool because it's so dang hot outside. Can't comment on their work as we didn't make it that far. Had an appt for an install quote set up for 6/29 9am sharp per the office upon initial contact , 6/29 rolls around and at 11am we call to see what happened , different stories on each end as someone forgot to write something down per one end while the other end says we were scheduled for the afternoon. Rep calls 10 minutes later to reschedule and sets it up for 3pm the same day. Nothing at 3pm , receive a call at 4pm apologizing saying just to busy , can't make it , sorry they can't give us quote. Liked their reviews and was hoping to get a bid by them , but , after wasting an entire day of ours as we took off work on a Tuesday to be home for them to give us a quote - NO THANKS. read more

I have used TPA for the last four years and have gotten tremendous service during this time. I bought my unit fro them about 3-4 years ago. I was provided a free one year service call and then had them come back in 05/18. This year we had to replace the TXV on 03/20 and they checked the system and all is well. We had to call again because the AC was shutting off for no reason and was told the drip pan has a overflow valve which will shut down the unit and this probably your problem. The AC actually came back on but I checked the drain and it was clear so I let the technician come out anyway to make sure. He came out and found nothing but I was billed for a trip charge and that is fine because I had a piece of mind at this point. Well our AC shut off again Sunday evening and would come on about every three hours and get the house down to about 75 degrees so not the end of the world. The technician came back out Monday 8/24 and this time he has decided there is a small blockage but only backed up during heavy condensation and would come back on once drained. All of this is great news except it bothered me that my trip charge was not discounted on my bill as all my other bills have no trip charge because a repair or service was provided. So when I called the office it was explained that I would have been charged for both even though I never have in the past. read more

As new home owners, we purchased a home warranty thinking that if we ever had any issues, we could use it to buffer an astronimcal cost. Unfortunately, we heard that throughout Austin, many AC companies have not had a good experience with warranty companies and have thus cut off their contracts. Calling around to find out who would work with us, I found companies that were assuming full AC unit replacement prior to even looking at our unit and a "heck no," response to working with a warranty company. It was disheartening and we were heading into a three-digit weekend. When I called TemperaturePro (at 4:30ish pm), I spoke with Jennifer. She empathized and tried to help solve a problem. She did not assume the worst, actually asked about the types of issues I was having and helped calm me down towards a solution. It turned out to be a pretty simple part replacement (something common). They came an hour after I called. Their service person used proper covid-19 precautions, did the assessment and job quickly. We ended up pleasantly surprised at the cost and we were back up and running by 6:30. Jennifer communicated with empathy, kindness, clarity, and followed through. Exceptional service, by lead technician Chris Elsberry at TEMPERATURE PRO. Our AC broke down in the middle of August heat wave and we couldn't find a service provider. Chris correctly diagnosed a common refrigerant leak due to the initial improper installation of a service valve. He took the time to investigate the issue instead of selling us a new coil that would have cost us more than $1300 that we were prepared to pay. Tim was great! We asked him to check our heating and colling duct works, and he did far more, all without a charge. He showed up to examine our duct works and told us they were fine. He then caulked around our AC registers and went on to check our AC. He added over a pound of coolant, and advised on how to treat the mold around the AC registers. All of this was without a charge. They came out quickly and were very professional. However, diagnosis was completely off-base, subsequent work (cleaning drain lines) because of that diagnosis was unnecessary and therefore at least $130 was wasted. (Turns out, internal evaporator pan was cracked and leaking profusely into secondary pan.) Also, they were supposed to get back with me on what they thought was causing the urgent issue (unlevel system and pan). Only after me calling twice did they call back 5 days later. Given the severity of my issue and their misdiagnosis, I would have expected an owner or manager to call and discuss. I don't like leaving reviews until I have had a chance to have an honest conversation and resolve, but that has not happened. I was hoping I had found a "go-to" AC contractor, but that didn't work out for me. read more

I don't usually write reviews but I want to give a shout to Reid Folk at Temperature Pro (West Austin). Our AC kept shutting off which is bad news during the long Texas summer. I called my home warranty company and per usual, they wanted to send out some horrible company. (I Yelped them - nothing but horror stories and one star reviews.) So I decided to avoid the trauma and just pay out of pocket. I called Temperature Pro West Austin because they were the most helpful in the past when I had a small emergency. Boy, I'm glad I did! They sent Reid and he ended up being our hero! I've done extensive renovations in the past so I like to know what's being done and to understand it. He was so knowledgeable and was able to explain what all needed to be done and why. It was obvious he knew his stuff and went above and beyond to make things right. I was so impressed, I signed up for their bi-annual contract and immediately saved $$$. Also, Reid was polite, thoughtful, patient and just a super nice guy who really cares about the customer, the budget and the quality of work. He gave us lots of tips and insights how to best run the AC units and keep the monthly utility bills lower, while having a much more comfortable home. My workspace over the garage was always so in cold the winter and hot in the summer, no matter what temperature the rest of the house was. I just wrote if off as nothing could be done. I came home from a business trip to find my AC had gone out while I was away. When I contacted the company I typically use they were days away from being able to even come out and look. However, they recommended TemperaturePro, so I immediately called to see if they could fit me in. Given my circumstances they arranged to have someone at my house within an hour. Unfortunately I needed a new unit,which I suspected, but the quote was done quickly, with a few options for me to choose from. I did call around to do price checking to pleasantly find the ranges were correct and accurate given the work I needed to have done. The team installed the unit a few days later, as it was a weekend. BUT - they did provide a portable AC unit for me to use so I wasn't completely miserable. Installation was great, they were clean and efficient. This company has remarkable customer service. They were as timely as could be with our home warranty issues. We ended up having to replace the air handler and condenser unit. The job took a couple of weeks due to parts being ordered by the home warranty company, so they brought us a portable AC unit to help us out until the repairs could be completed. I can't let good deeds, or in this this case "companies", go unrewarded. It goes without saying that AC/heating systems don't last forever as much as we would like them to. Such was the case with my aging (15 yr. old) system that had developed a lack of cooling prowess due to what was diagnosed as a faulty expansion valve. The estimated repair price...upwards to 3 figures. YIKES! I felt the prudent thing to do was to suck it up and fork out the dough for a new system. I decided to go through YELP and submitted an inquiry. But first I did some extensive research into different system brands, specifications, and prices thereof. After homing in on what I wanted in a system (as well as the system/brand I wanted), I submitted the inquiry and got back replies from about six different hvac companies. I don't know how YELP goes about picking out those companies but luckily, Temperature Pro was one of them. One of the companies gave me a quote for a system I didn't request...I guess because they didn't handle/carry that brand (not to mention it was way more expensive) so they were out of the game. Later the same day I put the request in, I got a call from Bill, a sales engineer from TPro. We had about a 25 minute conversation talking not only about the situation with my aging system but also about my choice of system I wanted and certain specifications of it. Bill was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions as well as adding his own expert advice. Even better, he had no problem with the brand of system I wanted even though it wasn't their main brand. I was impressed! I told him I would follow-up. Subsequently, they beat me to the follow-up and the next day I had a message on the YELP messaging system from Tim, Bill's colleague at TPro. Another subsequent in-depth conversation with Tim ensued and, at that point, I knew Temperature Pro was who I wanted to handle this as it was obvious they new what they were talking about. Tim dropped by the house to assess the situation. Later, he emailed me proposals for 2 systems based on what I was wanting. I selected from the two but had more questions specifically about the system I'd chosen. Tim dropped back by and we ironed out the fine details. And after all the discounts (and that didn't even include the $350 Austin Energy rebate), I was very happy with the price for the efficient system I purchased. Two days later, Tim and his crew were at the house with my new system. It took them maybe only 6 hours to get it installed and cooling the house. Tim followed up afterwards to inspect the system and make sure all was good. The level of attention, detail, and service I received from TemperaturePro was nothing short of outstanding. No hard sales pitch from these guys. They will tailor your system to what you want and your needs, not to their wants and what they need. As always, I recommend to anyone to get bids from at least 3 companies if you're in need of a new HVAC system (or even service for that matter); but you would be wise to make one of those companies TemperaturePro (the operative word here being "PRO"). It's not easy finding companies who are honest, trustworthy, and you can have confidence in whether it comes to auto repair shops, roofing companies, plumbers, etc. That's what reviews are for. Even when the initial problem was fixed and they found another repair issue, they did NOT put it off until Monday, they called Dean back in and fixed on Friday afternoon. Our AC and Heating units were showing signs of age-- wear and tear over the summer. then as it would happen-- during the first freeze our heater went out. We called Temperature Pro and Chris came out. Turns out we have kids going to the same school so we hit it off pretty well. Chris is as knowledgeable as one could get about AC/Heating systems, and a very chill dude. However, considering that our unit was so old-- past its' average lifespan, we opted to go with a full replacement. We entertained bids from Temperature Pro, and another company which we will not name but their salesman was an a-hole! Nonetheless, considering that Chris has already exhibited such excellent customer service skills, we opted to have Temperature Pro replace and install a whole new system. They also helped us land financing for it which helped us out tremendously. They were out here two days later with the new system at 7am. By 1pm they were done. I mean, DONE. The new system rocks. It is worth the money for us to invest in the long run and not have to worry about repairs later on down the road except for some usual maintenance here and there. My regular HVAC guy was busy when my heat stopped working. Of course it was in the upper 20s at that time. In a bit of a panic I Googled A/C repair and TemperturePro of West Austin was at the top of the list of sites. I called them and first they could only give me an appointment for the following morning, which wasn't that bad at all, but still would've loved a repairman that day. They did to their credit give me a competitors number. Unfortunately they too were booked up till the end of the week. Later that afternoon I get a call from the repairman assigned to my issue. Turns out he got freed up and wanted to come by that day. When he arrived he got right to work figuring out that the fan had rusted out and wouldn't turn any longer. WOW! My wife and I came home late to a warm house. Not cool. I call Temperature Pro of West Austin the next morning. They were booked until the afternoon, which I understand. Next thing I know, the owner of the company called me and said he was in the area and could come right over. 20 minutes later he showed up, and thirty minutes later the ac was up and running. Our AC went out 2 days ago. Mid July, Texas, not good. I called 6 different companies. 3 never answered the phone. The other 3 came out to take a look. They all said the entire system would need to be replaced. The current system was about 12 years old so although inconvenient it was understandable. 2 of these companies gave us a quote in the $5k range. The other company (Temperature Pro) spent 2 hours going out of their way trying to find us the best deal and came back with a great Lennox system with a 10 year warranty for nearly half the cost of the other 2 quotes. Half the cost! That was impressive. The tech who came out initially was extremely polite, quick and shared a great deal of knowledge with me about how the whole AC system works. Good to know as a homeowner and not the kind of stuff I would voluntarily go read about, ha ha. On top of the amazing pricing, they provided easy financing. They also gave us a portable AC unit to use for the night to keep our bedroom cool while we were waiting for the install which as it turns out was the very next day. The other companies had given us a 3-5 day window for install and no offer of back-up AC. I had spent a great deal of time on the phone with the rep at Temperature Pro before I realized the whole time I had been talking to the owner of the company (Tim). Super nice guy. They arrived on time this afternoon and the install went without a hitch. The install crew were polite, efficient, quiet and just did the job superbly. I have never had a home service contractor experience like this and I have never left a review on Yelp. This was just beyond the ordinary amazing service. My A\C was blowing out warm air and my first thought was, uh oh this is going to be expensive! I called and made an appt and Abel arrived first thing the next morning. He quickly determined it was a blown capacitor and fortunately I just happened to have a spare one. He fixed a few frayed wires and had the unit blowing cool air within a few minutes! I had an amazing experience with TemperaturePro West. Our a/c stopped cooling. They showed up the same day to evaluate the system for free and had someone out the same day to charge it with refrigerant to hold us over until we could replace it. Bill was great explaining everything to us and making recommendations to save us money and choose the best option for us. Bill showed up with a portable unit so my baby could sleep comfortably until install. On install day the crew showed up on time (early am) and finished install by 1pm with no issues and no mess. I have had my a/c system fail and call at 4:00 pm Darin arrived at 6:15 to repair ,found the problem and repaired it by 7:00 ,I was very impressed with their willingness to make my problem their priority. Unfortunately it went out again at 2:00 am. When I called at 6:30 am ,I was surprised that it didn"t do to voice mail but Bridget answered the phone !!! She called as soon as she got to the office to juggle things so Darin could be back as soon as possible. He arrived by 10:00 am and repaired a minor problem and was gone by 10:30 am. This outfit really seems to do what is good for the client, to determine whether they actually need to replace parts or if there is a cheaper solution. I called for a relatively simple job - replacement of thermostats with wifi thermostats. Unfortunately, ours was a more intricate custom system that had a fresh air intake system piggy backing on the main unit. Chris figured out how the entire system was structured and then was able to implement the new thermostats easily and very cheaply. He then quickly and cheaply cleared my condensate lines which were clogged. (The previous tech I had out to the house said that the lines were fine, and that the system was working as designed. I knew that had to be wrong, with it dripping from the eaves!) Chris even let me hang around and learn a thing or two as he went about his work. Temperature Pro has definitely found a repeat customer in me. I like knowing that if I have a problem I have got someone in my "rolodex" and I don't need to go researching any further. Hopefully I won't see them anytime soon, but, if I do, I know they will do a proper analysis and not be quick to replace my system "just because." read more
