Always a pleasure to be back at Temaki Den. They never fail to surprise me. I took my finance here for his birthday dinner and definitely impressed him. We ordered many things, all of the them are five stars but these are the Crown Jewels - Shoyu butter scallops, Aged Ootoro, and Black Snapper. They were incredibly busy but they took great care of us. They were a little slow with bringing out orders, but it really helped us to slow down and relax, truly enjoying the food.
Reservations were booked but I walked in for happy hour right when they opened and they got me in. I've been here twice before and I've loved it. This time I got a nigiri flight, which I loved. I'd say some of the best I've had in Denver. I also got the salmon oshizushi, which I really liked as well. It was warm and the jalepeno added a perfect spice. They spaced each course out perfectly so not everything came at once.
Cool spot . The hand rolls were fresh but that should be standard for all places. I felt that the food is quite overpriced. Rolls were definitely fresh but not extraordinary in originality nor taste, kinda simple. Service was friendly. The restaurant is pretty nice . Beware of parking , they overcharge by $30 . We had to call to receive a refund for the difference that we were overcharged.
Five stars because it's worth going out of your way to dine here. I always come here when I travel to Colorado. I always received wonderful service and everything I tasted here was delicious. I've been here at least 6 times.
This was a great experience. I went for happy hour and it was a unique experience and the food was different than any other sushi place I've been. We sat at the bar and the service was a little slow and the timing of the dishes was sporadic. The ambiance is in what feels like a lobby of a corporate building but still good date night vibes.
This place is high quality, delicious sushi with a unique twist combining traditional and modern styles. We sat at the sushi counter and chatted with the sushi chefs who were very knowledgeable about the food and were able to offer lots of amazing pieces. Anything salmon is just incredible. Our server was attentive and professional, also giving great suggestions. I don't usually leave five stars, but I couldn't find a single thing wrong with our experience. The sake is delicious and their happy hour menu is very affordable, but well worth it to order the nigiri off the normal menu! Can't wait to save up and go back!
After hearing some good recommendations of this place for about 2 years I decided to give it a try. The ambiance is interesting, i wouldn't say comfortable. Because it was in the middle of a warehouse (inside The Source's bottom floor hotel). But its a good spot to catch up with a friend or strangers lol. I would have to say the price point were very friendly for quality sashimi & nirigi. The taste was on par with some of the priciest sushi restaurants in denver for about half of their price point in comparison. Everything was good, the only tedious thing I would complain is that all the food and drinks was "over-seasoned". Like the cocktails was so so sweet, their special butter miso was so so salty, you can feel the salt crystal start growing in the back of your throat after every sip (an exaggeration joke). But at the end of the day just wash it down with some water and you're good for the next bite. I came for the fish, fish was quality. Everything else can be manageable. Favorite fish piece is the Shima Aji. For a hand roll speciality place their maki rolls arent good...which is odd. Save yourself the money and just get the sashimi & nigiri.
Temaki Den was a great spot and located in a great location with many other places to explore as well. I got three hand rolls - blue crab, spicy scallop, and scallop, and spicy tuna. We even got a little soup to start, and since it was my birthday weekend, I got the yuzu black pepper sorbet as a treat. All three hand rolls were delicious and tasted very fresh. I would say my favorites were the crab and tuna ones. The yuzu black pepper sorbet was very unique, but I thought the flavors mixed together very well. The little soup was also very refreshing and a perfect opener to the meal. The workers were very nice, and service overall I thought was great. Would definitely recommend this spot if you're looking for a good lunch spot.
I have been eating a lot of sushi recently. This is one of the best bites I have had. It's the salmon oshizushi. I can't wait to go again and redo my ordering and START with these and not eat them when I am already full. Prices very reasonable during happy hour. Great service. Only slightttt thing I would note to management is that is if a staff member is sniffling/sick you should encourage them to go home and still pay them because it's a smidge off putting to be hearing clear sniffling and sickness especially while eating raw fish.
I'd say it's more of a 4.5 because of their prices. It's definitely good quality but that should be the standard period, that shouldn't give places the right to upcharge lol. Regardless definitely fresh and tasty, and the service was great. They seem to have regulars so popular spot and the staff were very friendly. It's a pretty cute place too, modern ish. If you were eat here for dinner to get full though, you'd run a large tab.
While the sushi was good, the service was slower than expected. Even though I was seated at the bar right in front of the servers, it took quite a while for my order to be taken and served. It was about 20 minutes before I received my hot sake and another 20 minutes before my single sushi roll arrived -- a bit long for a casual dining experience. The restaurant itself is spacious and located inside an old warehouse with graffiti-covered walls, giving it an urban, artsy vibe. I visited on a Tuesday night, and the place was fairly busy with several solo diners at the bar and most tables filled. As for the food, the shrimp roll was my favorite -- fresh and flavorful. The eggplant roll was also a pleasant surprise. However, the blue crab roll was disappointing, as it had a canned tuna taste. Overall, the rolls were pretty standard hand rolls, nothing particularly inventive or elaborate. I'd like to see Temaki Den improve their service speed to match the quality of their sushi.
Very modern high ceiling open sushi bar atmosphere. We got the 5 temaki roll set with spicy scallop temaki and tangerine fed hamachi. Also tried shikoku breeze for our drink. All the food we had was delicious and we got a complimentary appetizer for bar seat service. Service was wonderful. Highly recommend making reservations in advance as this is a popular spot. Limited paid parking (first 30 min free) and also garage parking next building.
One of the best meals I've had in my entire life. I keep saying this ruined sushi for me because I know this place exists. There is parking deck parking (not validated) and some parking in front of the venue. Plenty of options so no worries there. We are at the sushi counter and did the omakase and I highly suggest doing the same. Watching the chefs put everything together was such an experience. I love that omakase is built for you and what you like or don't like and can go on as much as you want to eat! Everything I tried was incredible. Not one bite of sushi I didn't enjoy. The drinks were delicious and strong. Overall highly suggest checking this place out. I dream of the salmon.

We've gotten takeout here for a few years but stopped in recently for a quick lunch when in the area. Super fast service and no wait to be seated. Grabbed a few Temaki , miso, salmon belly, and a cold beer and I was quickly back outside enjoying the beautiful Colorado day. Everything was fresh and delicious and our server was pleasant. read more

This place is not hurting for 5 star reviews but I'll post another! Best sushi I've ever had! Unbelievably fresh and tasty. We had so many great dishes including the spicy edamame, salmon sashimi, and pork kakuni. The star of the show was definitely the temaki! They make each hand roll fresh and bring it out individually so you can really savor the flavors as intended by the chefs. All the components of the temaki shine through of both taste and texture. I can't recommend them highly enough! Service was also great. They have several highly attentive staff members who are quick to refill drinks and bus plates. read more

What a nice local find for a Saturday afternoon! First of all, the Source has never let me down, secondly, this is located in the center of it (not the hotel side). I understand this is an offshoot of Sushi Den and Izakaya, but has its own twist! It is such a great location and is quiet and easy to have a conversation! I learned that Temaki means hand roll and they serve theirs differently than I have ever had but they are incredible, especially the blue crab! They also serve nigiri aburi so it is lightly seared and the flavor is amazing! Everyone who served us was so knowledgeable and helpful, in fact went above and beyond to educate us about the culture of sushi! I can't wait to go back! And I hear there is a great happy hour! read more
Trying this place out. Love the decor! Service was good and attentive. My bf and I got the 3 and 5 temaki course. Shared salmon sashimi- so fresh. The temaki came out one at a time so the seaweed doesn't get soggy. In between temaki it took a while to get the next one. It took 2 hrs for lunch. Will try more temaki next time I'm in town read more

Located in The Source retail/restaurant building. Authentic Japanese cuisine: sushi and sashimi, tempura. I highly recommend the Omakase (trust the chef) selection. The waiter will check for food allergies, dislikes, or "no holds barred". We went all out, until we couldn't eat anymore. They started off with an incredible Japanese salad: simple, endive and a light dressing. We also upgraded to hon wasabi (real Japanese wasabi $9). First course sashimi: Scottish salmon, Canadian albacore, Hamachi carpaccio. Everything was seasoned, no need for soy sauce. Fresh fish, delicious pairing of seasoning. The bluefin tuna was paired with blue cheese and ginger - fantastic flavor! Second course: Shima aji Patagonia red shrimp hand roll. Third course Hokkaido scallops with pepper and lime, Pearch (white fish). Fourth course: tako and black snapper. Fifth course: Blue fin otoro Kimidai, sixth course: Surf and turf Seared A5 Wagyu and seared blue fin toro, Seventh course: kinmedai (best fish!). Blue fin chutoro. Eighth course: unagi and eggplant. read more
After wanting to try this place for months, we finally made it in! We stopped for the infamous happy hour and got to try a good mix of things. Our server was nice. The edamame was tasty, just the right amount of salt. The star of the show here is the salmon oshizushi. Heads up - You're limited to four per person during happy hour. Out of the tamaki options, the red shrimp was hands down my favorite of all. My only con is wasabi was in some of the tamaki we got and I'm not personally a fan of the taste of it. Next time, I'll make sure to ask for none on the handrolls! read more

This is THE SUSHI SPOT! My wife said this is the best sushi she's had in Colorado. I'm going to take it a step further and say this is the best sushi I've had anywhere! I've lived on the east and west coast and visited Hawaii so I know good AND bad seafood. If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would but hey I think they'll be fine (looking at you, Mr. Michelin star ). I brought my wife here for her 28th birthday for their Omakase experience at the bar. I can tell this is going to be "the birthday" that all other birthdays get compared to. We were left breathless and our stomachs and tastebuds were left highly stimulated and extremely satisfied. I'm usually the guy that needs to take a picture of every bite but were so blown away by the entire experience we couldn't take our eyes off everything. From the wagyu sashimi options, to the bluefin tuna, to the multiple hands rolls (shoutout to the baby scallop one!!), to even the eggplant, everything was perfect. The service went above and beyond and something that really stuck out to me is how comfortable we felt. Most of the time when I enter a Michelin star restaurant (which is pretty rare) there is usually a certain level of pretentiousness to deal with. This place made us feel right at home. It's also situated in a really cool spot smack dab in the middle of Zeppelin station with massive ceilings and a beautiful miniature Rockefeller center looking Xmass tree right in front. If there was a way to get a monthly subscription or membership for a restaurant, I would pick this place. I can already tell that they are going to live rent free in my head for a while. read more
Went to Denver for a work trip and one of my colleagues recommended this place! Hands down one of the best meals I've ever had. Very small menu and no actual cooking involved but everything is so fresh and well done. I recommend doing the chefs choice which includes random things that the chef creates for you and it keeps coming until you say stop. A5 Wagyu was AMAZING as were the scallop hand rolls. Highly recommend getting a cocktail as well! read more

Excellent sushi in Denver! Loved their aburi sushi and oshizushi. Highly recommend making reservations if are thinking of coming on a Friday night. The place was packed when we got there. Will definitely come back the next time I'm in Denver. read more
I went to Temaki Den with my friend last week and it was pretty good. The venue is strangely located (it's in a hotel hall area but it also looks like a warehouse area). Somewhat difficult to find. If you are going, there is only 30 minute parking in their lot and they recommend the parking garage. Temaki Den does not verify parking. The parking garage is free for the first hour and then $8 per hour afterwards. Out waitress was super nice and gave some good recommendations. We got a temaki set of 5 rolls and they were all delicious. They didn't come out in any specific order though and we were told that they would come one at a time. They were spread out pretty good except for one time we got 2 rolls at the same time and then it was another 20 minutes before our last roll came out. The hamachi was super good, but I think everything is a little overpriced. read more

This review is for RYAN. Boyfriend and I were craving sushi and after hearing so many good things about this place we decided to check it out. Ryan, our server, was quite possibly the best service experience we've ever had. He was somewhat excited? to serve us and we decided to go the omakase route with him. How it works is your server picks and chooses for you, and they keep bringing plates out until you say stop. Ryan took the time to explain every little thing to us. He gave us a complete breakdown about the sake (I don't drink sake so I had no idea what I was doing) and we decided to go with a flight. It was such a fun experience he even talked about what kind of seaweed they used, where the meat is from, what order to eat the pieces in etc. I had SO much fun hanging out here and trying new things. Of course every single thing sent out to us was that melt in your mouth oh god that was a good bite haha. Definitely was on the pricier end but worth every penny - and Ryan I would trust you with my life! read more
This is a go to for me. Every roll comes out separately so the seaweed is crispy and the rice is warm This is traditional Japanese rolls- quality ingredients instead of a bunch sauces and toppings. My favorite dessert is the yuzu black pepper sorbet. Tangy, savory and dairy free. Front of the restaurant is for reservations and the back bar is first come first serve. The staff has through knowledge about the menus. The place is sleek with high ceilings, simple decor. There is a reason why the staff knows my name. read more

Unique take on hand rolls and quality sushi. The Temaki are cylinder so you get an even bite of rice, fish, and seaweed. The service was attentive and friendly. I'd cone back if I was in the area and HD a craving for an assortment of sushi and sushi fusion options. read more

Hi Sarah, thank you for the review and feedback. I’m not able to…
When I think of my life, I think of it as B.T.D. and A.T.D. - before Temaki Den and after Temaki Den. The omakase here felt like a life-changing experience. I came here for a bachelorette party dinner and felt initially surprised by the location. While located in a giant warehouse-type building, it still maintained an intimate ambiance. The staff there were so kind and helpful in explaining every dish that came out. I love how this omakase was different from others in that there really wasn't a set menu. You could tell the chef what you liked or start with whatever they had planned (this was nice for an indecisive person like me). Then they would tailor whatever came out next to what you did and did not like. Some of the best ones that stood out to me were the hand rolls, the uni, and the hamachi dishes. When we got the bill, I was surprised by how reasonably priced it was for everything that we got. 10/10 recommend you come and give the omakase a try. I'll be requesting to return here for every birthday, anniversary, etc! read more

I love to sit at the bar at Temaki Den during weekend lunch hours. Sure, it's a little bit pricey, but it's by far the best bite of sushi I've had in Denver. Truly melts in your mouth!!! I would highly recommend to any sushi lovers in the area. I didn't take a picture of the Tuna Belly because I couldn't eat it fast enough, but that is probably my favorite thing to order here Last time I went, one of our courses was extremely slow coming out and the bar tender comped those nigiri pieces - great service if you ask me! read more
WOW. WOW. WOW. I left Temaki Den with a BIG smile on my face. What an awesome dinner and awesome spot. I understand why Michelin Guide chose to recommend Temaki Den. I came in on a Friday night alone with no reservation (risky I know but very last minute decision) I highly recommend getting a reservation. I called ahead and Kelly informed me over the phone about potentially being able to be seated and to come in with great customer service over the phone. Once I arrived the hostess informed me that I was able to grab a spot at the bar top if there was a spot available and there was a spot for me. Perfect! After sitting down at the bartender Kat/Cat (not sure of spelling) greeted me with smiles and attentive service. Really nice and punctual full of recommendations for other patrons at the bar top. Not only were the bartenders great.. every dish that was brought out was thoroughly explained on ingredients used in each dish. Amazing service. Things I ordered: - Shikoku Breeze (drink) - Negitoro Temaki (fatty tuna) - Salmon Temaki - Spicy Scallop Temaki - Negihama Temaki (yellowtail) - Ikura (salmon eggs) - Dry Aged Otoro (fatty tuna) - Bluefin Tskukami (fatty tuna w/uni & caviar) Everything was DELICIOUS but the favorites that stood out were the Spicy Scallop & Bluefin Tsukami. I started laughing at how good the Bluefin Tsukami was. Just a punch of flavor. Best bite of sushi I've had in so long. Some of these dishes had fish from Japan, Spain and Scotland. You know it's amazing quality. The atmosphere is amazing. Different sections of seating and bar tops. Design of the market is awesome. Feels like a modern warehouse. Parking is rather scarce however there is street parking and a garage a little bit away. I will be back!! read more

I am pretty picky with my sushi spots, and I must say I was impressed with this spot. First off, it's located in The Source in a large open room with that industrial feel. They have sushi bar seating, table seating, and bar seating. Our waiter (I think his name was Bo) was very friendly and informative about the menu and how the way the restaurant runs. We ended up sticking with the happy hour menu. 3-5 hand rolls for a set price. All of the handrolls came out one at a time to keep the freshness and crispiness of the seaweed. The crab & shrimp rolls are cooked, the rest are raw fish. I loved the flavors they combined and it didn't leave a fishy aftertaste. 10/10 We also ordered their happy hour kaarage. It was $5 for 2 pieces but honestly it was worth it. They apparently marinate the chicken for 24 hours. It comes with a spicy mayo (not very spicy) and a small salad to cut the greasiness. 10/10! I also ordered one of their salmon oshizushis. Not my favorite, but I'm glad I tried it. I think I was expecting something different lol. 8/10 Since the meal was going so great we decided to end it with their creme brulee... And we are glad we did! It was as delicious as it was beautiful (see pics). 10/10 read more

One of my favorite sushi spots in Denver. Located in the middle of a plaza (?) area. Lots of table seating and bar seating. They recently expanded and acquired and kitchen so there is tempura and other hot foods on the menu now. They have hand rolls which are all really good but my favorite are their Aburi Nigiri, which is nigiri that's been lightly torched. I won't go into any of the simple nigiris because if you're familiar with the fish, you should know what it tastes like SALMON OSHIZUSHI nigiri - It's torched salmon with pepper on top. This one is my favorite and I highly recommend ABURI SALMON BELLY Nigiri - salmon topped with crème Fraiche and smoke trout roe. This tasted like smoked salmon. I personally didn't love it, but If you're into that you might like it NEGITORO HANDROLL - fatty tuna with green scallions wrapped in seaweed. Love this handroll - also highly recommend SPICY TUNA HANDROLL - this didn't taste like spicy tuna that I'm used to. It was slightly sweet? Didn't love this, think I'd rather prefer non-sweet spicy tuna CHICKEN KARAGE - comes with 2 big chunks of friend chicken with a spicy mayo on the side. Very juicy and flavorful! I LIKE YOU BUT YOURE CRAZY - cocktail with rice shochu, Yuzumon, chareau, watermelon, club soda. This came in a big beer mug. The drink itself was only okay. It's not very sweet, think there was too much club soda and it tasted like a watered down seltzer. read more

One of the best meals of my life. Our waiter Tony was really great. The sushi, temaki, sake, and whiskey were beyond excellent. (Be careful parking in the lot though. Left 15 minutes late (honestly only 15 mins) and the parking company sent me a bill for $60.) read more

In the trendy Source space, this is a great addition that adds some food diversity to this great night-out place. We got some to-go food here on a Saturday night, and it was only a 30 minute wait. We got some hand rolls, as they had a 5 for $24 special, and we were so pleasantly surprised. This was the most fun to go experience I think I've ever had! To keep the seaweed fresh, they use a special packaging system to keep it separate from the sushi until ready to eat! There's a QR code on the outside of each package to show you how to assemble. It's super simple & super fun!! Plus, each hand roll still tasted fresh, the filling was well seasoned and amazing, and the rice nice and sticky. We'll definitely try dine-in at some point, but this was a really fun date night experience! read more
Incredible Happy Hour that is a great value for the quality! Beautiful hand rolls with delicious, fresh Fish. I loved the sear on the salmon and the Flavors were Incredible. The space is cool and i love that you can watch your rolls be made! Great, quick service had us out the door in time for our next reservation! We will be back! read more
All of the delish of the other Dens in a casual environment, count me in. Located inside The Source, next to Grabowski's and the bread place that always sells out, Temaki Den is a casual, hand-roll take on the high quality sushi that people in Denver have had on Pearl street. While hand rolls aren't super common in Colorado, or really in sushi places in general, that's what they specialize in here. It's an efficient way, fun way to get sushi from plate to mouth. The fish here is incredibly fresh and high quality, and we've always had super friendly service here, even when we've brought our extremely messy baby with us. Another pleasant surprise with Temaki Den is their lunch specials. Instead of having to drop $50+ (which you still might), they have great 3, 4, and 5 hand roll specials that are around $20. The spicy edamame here is much better than you ever thought edamame could be, and the yellowtail hand roll is really a treat. Definitely get one or two of the aburi nigiri, which has been gently blowtorched before it makes it to your table (the scallops are incredible). This is a great place for a special meal that doesn't feel stuffy. They have high chairs and take online reservations. Big, big fan of Temaki Den! read more

I am looking to take my family there. What is the price range for Omekase?
It depends because it's more "al la cart". For the two of us, it was about $110 each and we left stuffed and happy!
How does the Tock reservation system work? Do I get the money back or added to my bill upon arrival, or am I giving them $20 for the opportunity to eat there?
The $20pp deposit is refunded to your card upon arrival, and will only be kept for no-show guests. In most cases, the deposit will be refunded as long as the reservation is canceled or communicated at a reasonable time.
Is there a dress code?
There is no dress code! On weekends people tend towards the dressier side however.
Do we have to book a table or can we just walk in?
We called ahead with 4 and they told us to walk in. Not sure when/if they'll require a reservation.
