Contacted T.E.K Electric through yelp to get a quote to extend wiring in bathroom wall for a LED mirror. I had installed the Mirror myself and removed the old light fixture, but the cable in the wall was not long enough to extend myself. Was contacted by TEK for an appointment Thursday 12/13/18. I took the morning off work (11-1130AM) to be home for their electrician to come by. He never showed up. 3 hours after the window they called to say he got stuck on a job. I understand, things happen. TEK rescheduled the appointment to 12/14/18, and said that I would be the FIRST on the electricians list, so I made it for 10-1030AM and again took a day off work. It is now 1518 (3:18PM) and I have not seen an installer, nor has TEK called me. Again, I can appreciate things happening, but no communication and clearly not being the first on the installers list is just a slap in the face. If you like wasting time (2 days off), go with TEK. If you actually want an electrician to come out, call someone else. read more

Had a broken breaker that cut the power out of my entire house, Keith really saved the day coming on a weekend to help out. Not only did he restore the power to our house but he recommended replacing our other breaker switches as he noticed they were beginning to wear down and cause similar troubles in the future. Just had a really great experience! We literally had our alarm going off for the past 4 hours and couldn't figure it out ourselves. Nothing but great things to say about TEK Electrical! Called in Friday as I have motorized gate that needed powering and didn't want to run an extension cord. Keith saved us. We've had a busted front hall light for a while but just kept it off until we could safely book an electrician to come by and help. Last week we finally called an electrician who explained to us the wires were in fact fried and we needed to get a new fixture. We went out, bought a new fixture, and were waiting to book a follow up appointment. Then this morning sparks flew out of those fried wires. When I tell you I was scared I mean I had flashes of the headline, "Oakland home the epicenter of the latest large wildfire due to dummy not replacing their damn fixture" run across my mind. We turned off the circuit breaker that sent power to that side of the house and immediately followed up with our initial electrician, who was unavailable. But TEK Electrical picked up. Spoke to Tyra. She seemed nice enough at first. I requested that the technician not only come out for a consultation but that he be prepared to do the work the same day. It was a small job so it didn't make sense for them to just come look at it and not do anything, creating a need to come back at a later time to finish. After our initial call I hadn't heard from them so I reached out to find out which technician would be coming and at what time. I was told I would be informed by the electrician who would be coming and at what time. Khalif showed up, walked through the house, and left. I reached out to Tyra to ask why the work wasn't done, as requested. She apologized and then said they couldn't accommodate us. No explanation why. Because they weren't qualified to do the job? Because I dared to ask why what we discussed didn't happen? It had to be one of the two because nothing else transpired. In any case, based on some of the other reviews I've read here, it seems I dodged a bullet, so I'm grateful they didn't tear up the electrical in my house, as others have said they've done to them. read more

He came in another time to wire the microwave from the main board to the outlet. I called a bunch of electricians for a small job and Keith was the only one who responded in a timely manner! He was also able to come to my house relatively quickly. I had a hot tub pump that was not working as well as a light fixture and some GFIs that I wanted replaced. Keith spent several minutes diagnosing the pump and determined that it wasn't a circuitry issue. No charge for that diagnosis! After the original estimate, I decided to proceed with the work. His son showed up right away to do the actual work, which was to replace outlets with GFIs. He also came back late into the evening after I had time to purchase the light fixture replacement. They were super friendly, knowledgeable, professional and and did not nickel and dime me for every little item. Additionally, his son did a great job of cleaning up. Leaving a mess is a pet peeve of mine. I would not hesitate to call them again for another electrical job. read more
