The one thing I wish was that their butcher shop was more robust. Specialty butchers are supposed to have premium and rare cuts and unfortunately in this case I'd do better at HEB. Word on the street is, Tejas Meat Supply is not wanting to make their establishment a place where the older crowd will feel welcome and keep returning. Even though we have money to spend. I have experienced first hand not feeling welcomed at all at Tejas Meat Supply. I have had to ask other patrons how do I get served here; how do I place a food order here; wait staff is not helpful, it's like they WANT you to flounder around, be confused, embarrassed and not come back. I wrote a review a few months ago that was deleted because I mentioned the ethnicity of a waitress who turned her back on several patrons of a certain age. I mentioned her ethnicity so she should be able to be identified by management and no other reason. This waitress saw us - I saw her see us, we had been waiting for a while - and she turned her back on us and continued her conversation with patrons her own age. This place was recommended to us and so we thought we'd check it out. It's hidden on the square, but it's not. Love the inside layout, the tall table seating and the nice open bar. They have games to play and everyone is just chill there. Wish there were more options in the bar. Looking forward to trying again when they open the kitchen. During my recent travels, on July 18, 22 I visited Georgetown, TX to meet up with some friends from Austin. We walked around the small city, deciding upon Texjas. The pizza place was packed. Texas was empty with only one couple. From behind the counter the waitress told us where to get our water, it was self serve. I had to walk up to the bar to get our menus. This young woman made no effort to serve us in any capacity. I had to walk up to her to tell her we were ready to order. She was in her phone. At some point, her friends came in and sat at the bar, also her boyfriend. You can hang up the fact we received anymore acknowledgement. I finally walked up to the bar to tell her we were ready to order, other couple there had to do the same when they wanted ton their bill. We had to go to her to ask for check. We ordered 2 chips and queso, the Cubanish and 2 brisket dips. Food was good, service was horrible!. Disappointed and confused why they allow this waitress a job there. A friend took me here. Very cool place. They have corn hole games and cook the beef sandwiches,steaks, etc. for you. Beer was cold. Wait staff very friendly. Very good food and very good service. A man named Gunnar %100 needs a raise; He went the extra mile to make us feel welcome and brought out food fresh and fast. He stood there and talked to us, and he was the funniest server I have ever meet. Sause, missing food and napkins you name it he was on it. To finish it all off when my son spilt a drink everywhere he was the first to get over and clean it up. He made my son stop crying and told him everything was going to be ok. 10/10 will be going back. read more

We had lunch here today and certainly had an unusual experience. Other patrons brought their dogs into the restaurant. One of the dogs urinated on the floor. To the dog owner's credit he cleaned it up quickly, but my thoughts were that this is unsanitary and a possible health risk. Not what we wanted to see having lunch. Well never thought id say this. But unfortunately tejas seems to be highly prejudice against African Americans. Was going to have a weekend bbq with my g pa! Had heard of a new meat market. Came in and was highly disappointed by the outcome. I was immediately over looked and watched multiple guest get helped before myself. Once i was helped the tone was much different than that with the other customers. I overlooked and had a few questions about particular cuts of meats. Which i got a response of. "Those might be a little expensive" Needless to say i kindly left shortly after. I really hope to see us as a community grow and move past situations such as these. read more

This was probably my third time in. Love the atmosphere and the food is good. However, the service is not the best. I waited 45 minutes for my sandwich and it wasn't that busy. I watched as the girl making the sandwiches reply to text messages on her phone, spoke to the other two girls working and move at a snails pace while preparing other sandwiches. I noticed another couple at the bar having to wait a long time for their sandwich as well. Also, while sitting at the bar waiting for my food, I asked the girl if I could have a glass a water. We really enjoyed our sandwiches! The space is large leaving plenty of room between tables. It's a very casual counter service type of experience with big screens and TVs showing sports. I got the Turkey BLT and it was stacked with so much turkey! It had good flavor and I enjoy a sandwich on toasty bread. My husband got the Rueben on the pretzel bun and it was DELICIOUS! We waited in anticipation for this place to open. It's simple. It's a meat market with beer and a few sandwiches. I love the vibe. Great for families and groups of friends. Good games and happy tones. They care about their employees and the community. Even during all the outages during this crazy storm they are providing a place to stay warm, charge your phone and do work if need be. Second day in a row here and I've seen them donate hundreds of sandwiches and chips to first responders and really shoe that they care. This is a local family owned place that may not be super fancy but it's perfect. Draft beer is priced great and of amazing quality. Good place for a craft beer. Oh and as I'm typing I see they have choices for wine and champagne. Just amazing! They are so nice but don't expect fast. It's quality over quantity. They are going to get to you I promise. My husband and I were sitting at the bar watching the "chef/cook" make our club sandwich. First, we closed out our tab before getting our food. That was our mistake that I hope no one makes at this place! Second, a club sandwich should not take over 15mins to make when we were the only ones inside the place! Then, I watched a clump of turkey meat fall on the floor, the cook picked it up, and tucked it inside the side of our sandwich. When we addressed the bartender about it, she asked him if he dropped anything on the floor. The cook told her it was cheese. I don't care what he dropped on the floor, you do not pick it up and especially don't tuck it back into the sandwich! We sat and finished our wine but never saw the manager walk back out, nor did the bartender seem to care to get the manager. If you go here, keep a very close eye on the cook! This is tantamount to going to another state and ordering guacamole .....only they mixed the Avocado with ketchup instead of pico! JUSTNOOOOO. It isn't done. SO this is "fixable". Went in during poppy festival. Ordered a chicken sandwich. The thick white bread was cold and between it was reconstituted chicken slices about three thin strips and two pieces of square American cheese. GROSS. I threw IT away immediately. Cost about 10$ with tax and tip. Just don't. Beer is good. That's why it got two stars. read more

I've always brought friends and family including our children to both Mesquite Creek and Tejas Meat Supply. We have always enjoyed it and never had issues in the past. Countless times we have done this. Yesterday, was a slower than normal business volume for y'all and we were one of the few people in the building. As I was trying to enjoy my sandwich and a beer, I assume what is the manager came up and said that my kids are being too loud. He said that we ran six patrons off although the entire time I was there I probably saw two. One sat at the bar that I had a good conversation with him. I believe the only person that was annoyed with the kids was the manager himself. I've been in this place and Mesquite Creek to where the volume was raucous and loud, and it seems to be just part of the environment. Maybe you should put a sign on the door that says children aren't allowed so that we know not to bring kids in there anymore. I have spoken with several other people that say they bring their kids there and they have a good time no problems, despite loud kids. Truly made us feel unwelcome there ever again. read more
