Tip: if you need the staff's help, there's a button on the side of the table to press. Usually I don't grab the sushi from the conveyor belt. To guaranteed freshness, I order from the digital menu above the table. Currently there is a Yuzu special menu where there are a few items all made with yuzu! All were delicious. If you love yuzu, totally try the dessert, yellowtail yuzu sushi, and Seared Yuzu Jalapeno Alfonsino Kinmedai! Also tried the Uni (sea urchin) and it was fresh as well. I love any sushi dish with jalapeño on top. It's actually spicy and has a good kick to it! Over all 10/10 for food quality, price, and wait time for the food to come!

There's a few unique qualities for this conveyor belt sushi joint and that's the point system and the robot drink server. You earn little trinkets with the more you eat, my family tends to LOVE sushi so we get multiple little prizes from turning in our plates. The robot server is honestly so cute I would die for it. It's worth the visit and makes the experience feel futuristic but still grounded, it's actually like watching the latest DoorDash robots that are running the streets delivering food. Food-wise I would say there's more salmon options than anything but if you love salmon then it works out! The digital menu also lets you just straight up order stuff you might want instead of waiting for it on the belt. Kura is worth the visit, my in-laws love coming here from Queen Creek!

The sushi rice was dry & tasted very sweet. The nigiri I assumed would be a different selection per piece, but it was two salmon, two albacore, a piece of yellowtail, tuna, and a whitefish. When I asked the server what the whitefish was, she said "i have no idea". I had two pieces of the caterpillar roll before asking if they could take it off the bill because it was so chewy I couldn't eat it. They said no because "they can't please everyone". Overall, service was nice, but the food and handling of a negative situation could've been avoided. I left and had a stomachache a couple hours later. Not going back.

We were quite surprised to see that this place not only has a regular menu, but is a revolving sushi bar as well. There are lots of tables both regular and high top, and lots of cherry blossoms hanging over the sushi bar. That really dresses the place up. Our server told us to just pick a seat wherever we wanted and we told her we were doing the revolving sushi she did come back and check on us several times. She was very friendly. The sushi was pretty good. The selection is relatively small and you won't have the larger selection like you might find at another revolving sushi; however, the price is here are outstanding. If you're in the mood for sushi (or are feeding a teenage boy) but don't want to spend a lot of money, this is your place! Each plate is $2.50 regardless of what's on it. I was full after three plates (9 pieces of sushi)--that's only $7.50! That's insane!

They also have fantastic happy hour and lunch specials that make it easy to stop by more often without breaking the bank. I honestly come back again and again for the spicy edamame and the spicy tuna on crispy rice -- both are absolutely amazing and packed with flavor. The spicy tuna on crispy rice is perfectly done every time, with just the right crunch and spice, and the spicy edamame is seriously addictive. I've also tried the tempura, shrimp tempura roll, miso soup, and several other rolls, and everything I've ordered has been fresh and delicious. You can really tell they take pride in the quality of their food. It's quickly become one of my favorite sushi spots, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for great sushi, awesome specials, and consistently friendly service.

For what it is, it was a pretty good visit. We really were pleasantly surprised by the quality. The variety was great. Rice was prepared right -- not mushy or stale. The fish was great which was the biggest surprise of the whole meal. The salmon was fresh and buttery. The scallops were plump. Tuna did not taste cheap or old like previous visits. I did try some of their limited time menu items -- their fish taco and the crispy rice hot dog. The cod in the fish taco was way too soft and disintegrated in my mouth, I would like a firmer fish.. the tartar sauce was great though. The crispy rice hot dog was interesting... the sausage was nice a plump -- juicy but the rice did not make sense. The rice was also a little sweet and did not taste right.. ** please bring back the crispy rice salmon and spicy tuna instead of this. We did not enjoy our last 2-3 visits to Kura. Service was always bad, food did not taste good and it was becoming overpriced for what it is. We would happily come back now and spend what we did again if the quality stays the way it is. Service this time around was still not great, even worse than usual actually, but we still enjoyed otherwise. Kura used to allow you to win prizes at 5-7 plates but now it's every 15, 25+ plates which sucks but I get it..

Throughout the meal, I felt like I had to direct our dinner: "Our entrees are out and we still haven't received our edamame appetizer." "Excuse me, we had a spill and need some napkins." "Excuse me, we still haven't received our soup." At one point, all three servers were gathered by the sushi bar chatting with each other and the two sushi chefs. When we finally received our bill, our server informed me that an 18% gratuity had automatically been added because we were a party of five. I've eaten here as a party of four and gratuity was not included, so five is the magic number. What bothered me the most was how the suggested tip percentages on the bill were calculated. They added the food subtotal and tax together and then calculated the displayed tip percentages from that total. Gratuity should be calculated on the pre-tax subtotal, not on government-imposed sales tax. I brought this to our server's attention, and she said she would speak to the general manager about it. I don't mind tipping, and I'm happy to tip well for good service. What I do mind is being required to pay an 18% gratuity for poor service, especially when the restaurant is also displaying tip calculations based on the after-tax total. Decent food, poor service, and an automatic gratuity that made the experience even more frustrating. Something to be aware of before choosing to dine here.
