I called ABT and spoke with Lou (his direct # 847-954-4140). I did some research before I called and liked the Samsung 55." 4K NEO QLED, originally $1,297.99, on sale for $897.99. Lou stated, "They had a sale starting tomorrow (Saturday) and that he could sell it to me for $651.00." Great! Lou said he could have it delivered next Tuesday. I explained my mother's situation and asked if it could be delivered tomorrow, on Saturday. Lou said, "I'll make it happen." Now that is exceptional customer service! Josh Hoffman was the technician who delivered and set up my mother's new Samsung TV. Josh programmed the Xfinity remote to the new TV, and my mother accidentally hit something that made the TV verbally announce everything she did. Josh asked if she wanted that, and my mother said no. Josh was quick-witted and a comedian; he had my mother laughing. You certainly can tell when an employee loves their job! He knew exactly what to do and what to say, all the while being up beat and encouraging. Then when I didn't think we could get anymore help, his manager Paulina chimed to help also. She was awesome too! Very knowledgeable about trouble shooting and also very sweet. Problem? They (TInternet and linelink) are not compatible!!! TMobile engineer gets on the phone after 5 hrs with a tech trying to figure out why it's not working and says it NEVER should have been sold to me in first place. TMobile knows there's a glitch and they're working on it. TVision? Employee at this store says 'all you need for TVision are smart televisions'. That's only true for certain brands of smart TV's otherwise it's a $50 dollar (1x) for a converter box for each TV. TInternet worked for about 4 days without a problem, then just stopped. Not spending another minute with tech support. Been a Tmobile customer 5+ years, no complaints on cell service. These employees at the Lemont store have no clue. Wasn't just one employee. If she wasn't sure of her answer, she asked the guy working. I thought they knew what they were talking about but it took a phone call to TMobile and speak to an engineer to find out they know nothing!!!!!!

It did take some time getting all of the equipment & parts needed, so if you are looking to put in a system for a particular event, I would plan well-in advance. However, we were kept informed. The basement is not entirely finished because it is used mostly by my teenage kiddos & their friends, but we did want an outstanding entertainment system for them to watch movies & play games. We opted for a projector & screen. We also wanted to integrate the Philips Hue system for a backlighting on the screen that coordinates with the picture. He & his colleagues built speaker boxes for us & the frame behind the screen upon which the lighting strip would rest. It came out amazing! They did an outstanding job. One year later, and all is still running smoothly. I have not had to reach back out to them for anything so far, but I was left with a strong impression that if we needed help with anything we would just be able to call. I feel confident that they would be supportive given the experience we had throughout the initial process.

Another company I had spoken with had quoted me more than twice the price, I guess because the cameras they use are fancy or something? I don't know, because the ones Ernesto installed are great and doing precisely what I wanted. When I was on my search for home security cameras, I kept mostly finding things like ADT, SimpliSafe, or something else that was largely about selling you the monitoring plan; the equipment I think was less expensive but then you're paying for the monitoring. I am not generally a fan of the everything-is-now-a-subscription-or-service thing nor do I want to be beholden to whatever rates a company decides to charge. Some of those also were self-install options, which didn't interest me at all. They hooked up several cameras at our home to provide various views, including the basement since I wanted to be able to see what's happening down there when I'm upstairs. The system has a hard drive that can support up to eight cameras. We can save photos, videos, and also play back to see what happened earlier in the recording on the various cameras. Although they could have provided a monitor, we don't really have a place for it so we simply have an app on our phone through which we can view the cameras. I'm not sure why, but I thought it would go much more quickly than it did. I have no frame of reference to know how long it should have taken so that's not a criticism. It took about six hours total but having it done well was the most important part. I would highly the crew at 606 installs for their professionalism, reasonable rate, and excellent work.
