Teaspoon has great consistency across the board with exciting seasonal offerings. Since fall is coming, their banana series is back. My colleague enjoyed her honeycomb banana latte. It came with toffee crumbles, which took it the next level up. I stuck with a classic Matcha Royale with whole milk. Both of us have chewy boba that was cooked to perfection. I love Teaspoon because they offer rewards and it is my go to Boba shop when I am in the south Bay. My favorites are the Ladybug, Rose Petal Tea and their Taro with chunky bits. You can't go wrong with Teaspoon.

Lots to choose from and lots of optional toppings too.

Happy to find a Teaspoon tea shop on Russian Hill in SF. It is my favorite tea shop on the Peninsula in San Mateo and this location has the same consistent quality of tea beverages. I like that it's pretty easy to order using the kiosk and you can taste the tea in the drink.

Silly Mango with Oat Milk

I've been on a boba kick lately, so I decided to stop by for a drink with my coworker. I ordered the drink on their website for pickup to ensure that it'll be ready by the time we arrived. The place was empty when we got there around 12:30pm, but I did notice quite a few drink orders ready to be picked up. The place is not that big but there are seats available. I wasn't sure what to order but ultimately decided on the silky mango since it's something I've never tried. I opted for oat milk (extra $1) since I'm lactose. The drink was sooo good! Loved the mango puree mixed with the milk. Also, the boba was also extremely chewy!I can't believe that I've never ordered this drink. I can say it is now my new favorite. I do want to try their silky strawberry next time I stop by!

Great flavors Good portion sizes Accurate sweetness levels Very satisfying Mango tajin was a mango bomb. And I appreciate the put a good amount of tajin when I asked. The fruit teas are well balanced.

Solid boba place. The bubbles were decent but didn't really stand out. The taro lover was a tad bit sweet for my taste (and I like my drinks sweet) but overall still enjoyable.

Stopped by to use my $6 off a drink birthday reward! Teaspoon is a reliable and reasonably priced boba option in the city. You can order online or in the app ahead of time so it's ready for you to pick up when you get there. Right now they have some seasonal drinks that you can get hot or cold: Strawberry Serenade (a strawberry latte with matcha foam) Starlight Sesame (a hojicha latte with crème brûlée foam and black sesame) Ube Astra (a coconut ube drink with crème brûlée foam) I got the Starlight Sesame (pleasant nutty flavor!) and the Strawberry Sangria. I highly recommend getting a lower sweetness level than you usually order since Teaspoon drinks run on the sweeter side! I ordered 50% sweet but would have preferred it even less sweet.

Great drinks. Request less ice to maximize your value. Sometimes the regular amount of ice is too much (like half the entire cup). Ube is the best! Very friendly staff.

Teaspoon is always a great and reliable spot for a quick boba fix. This specific location is quite small, with only 1-2 tables for seating, but the surrounding area is nice for walking around with your drink. My friend and I tried their limited Cosmic Series: Starlight Sesame and Ube Astra. The Ube Astra is a coconut-infused ube blend layered with milk, honey boba, and crème brulée foam. While it was good, I didn't find it particularly special. It's what you'd expect from an ube drink, but I appreciated that it wasn't overly sweet. On the other hand, the Starlight Sesame--a roasted hojicha latte topped with crème brulée foam and black sesame dust--was absolutely delicious and quite addicting. I might be biased because black sesame is one of my favorite flavors, but Starlight Sesame deserves a permanent spot on their regular menu! Both drinks were great choices and very aesthetic, perfectly matching the Cosmic theme.

I went here on a Saturday around 3:50pm and there was a short wait. This boba shop is a bit on the smaller side, but they still had a few small tables available when I went. I ordered the Dirty Ube and also the Silky Mango drinks! The drinks I got here are so pretty! I love the layered look of the drinks here and the boba pieces are soft and chewy. The Dirty Ube drink seemed very unique to me with it's coconut infused ube, organic coffee, and organic milk and it still tasted good too! The Silky Mango is a must for me too since mangoes are my favorite fruit. I'd recommend this place! They have other locations too, but I know this location also sells a variety of boba, fruity drinks, coffee, and even snacks which I thought was cool. The only difficulty I had here was deciding where to sit, since it's a small boba shop.

Decided to get some boba while walking around. I decided to go with the white grape oolong tea with pudding and I have to say it's pretty good. I still like to 25% sugar because I don't like sweet drinks. You can really taste the oolong tea. The service was quick and the place is cute. I am more of a tea based drinker, not too much of a milk base so not sure how those taste. Overall pretty good. A little pricy, almost $7 with one topping.

Walking by and stopped by this shop. Ordered the grape oolong tea with pudding! Less ice and less sweet and it came out perfect! The place was quite small and didn't have many seats. We ordered on the machine and the staff never needed to say anything to us so really cannot rate service. Overall decent shop for a boba!

Ask the Community - Teaspoon

Do they have large to-go/takeout containers like Starbucks does? If so, what the price/price range?

Yes they do and there is no extra cost

Is there vegan options?

Boba is usually vegan. Tea is vegan. I know they have a non-dairy creamer, but if it's properly vegan, I'm not sure. They likely have almond milk. Boba Guys for sure has vegan options.

What exactly does this place sell besides milk teas ? Ice cream?? Or frozen yogurt?

No, it's called Taiwanese shaved ice, or "snow." It's similar to ice cream or frozen yogurt (it contains dairy), but it looks flakey and has a different consistency and sort of melts in your mouth. It tastes pretty much like ice cream, but the… Read more
