I had visited Teaspoon while I was on a waitlist for another restaurant in the plaza. This location is pretty small but has a few tables to sit at. Teaspoon has a points system allowing you to collect points for each purchase that can go towards free drinks. They made the drinks pretty fast & it tasted exactly how I imagined it to be. The drink has been pretty on par to other Teaspoon locations I've been to. The Jasmine was creamy and at 75% was still sweet enough. My friend ordered the white grape oolong tea with crystal boba, and I ordered the strawberry colada with lychee jelly. It was our first time ordering these specific drinks. Wow. The strawberry colada was so delicious! I love the coconut flavor, it stands out against the sweeter strawberry. I will say, I'd prefer for it to be less sweet, but I don't think the level was adjustable for this specific order. Lychee paired with this made for a very nice tropical tasting dessert. The white grape oolong tea with crystal boba went together very well. Overall: 4.1/5 The interior of Teaspoon is nice and clean but small so most people just pick up their drinks and go. We went around 9 PM on a Tuesday so we got a table to chill at, with not many people coming in at that time. Teaspoon's drinks in general are on the less sweet side so I usually go for 75% instead of 50% sweetness but even for the drinks that you can't adjust sweetness, it's at a good level. Peppermint Matcha ($6.50): We got their seasonal drink and added passion fruit dolphins which was a mistake because most of the flavor came from the passion fruit. I didn't really taste the peppermint or white chocolate so it tasted like a very different drink. It's not a sweet drink so I would try it again without any toppings. Strawberry Colada ($6.50): This was actually not as sweet as I thought it would be. It tasted like a Pina colada with a stronger pineapple taste than strawberry. The smoothie is a bit more grainer though. Still, it's a great non-alcoholic substitute that will satisfy your drink craving. Taro Lover ($5.50): This is my brother's go to drink here as it never disappoints. They have real taro chunks in here too so if you're picky about your drink texture, this might not be the drink for you. I had it at other Teaspoon locations and liked it. read more

Ordered 6 drinks and came out in 10min. 10/10 Liquid Gold - tea sweetness was great. Go for 75% if you do not want too sweet. Tea flavor was strong but very similar to the jasmine. 10/10 Creamy Jasmine - same as liquid gold 7/10 Lychee on Lychee - had lychee bits as a topping so that's why it's cost extra. Teaspoon is probably one of my favorite boba places, and asides from Teaspoon's location in Davis, this is the only other location I've been to. The first time I went here, I came to do some work since they have wifi which is awesome! I came during a weekday in the afternoon so it was pretty empty. I ordered my favorite drink - Silky Mango. The drink was SOO GOOOD! The boba was also soft, sweet, and chewy. My bf said it was kind of sweet, but I have a bit of sweet tooth so I LOVED it! The second time I went, I came because they sent me a text saying that I could redeem a free drink (up to $6) for my birthday. Now...they explicitly stated this was from the Milpitas location. When I came in this time around, it was self-order via a virtual kiosk rather than with the cashier. I asked the worker if I could put in my rewards number, and he said that they weren't currently doing it. The only way to do it was through their Teaspoon app. I had to download the app and figure that out in the store with a low battery. It took me 5-10 minutes so that was annoying. Regardless, I was able to redeem my free drink voucher. I meant to order a Strawberry Matcha Royale but I accidentally clicked the Mango one instead. I wanted to change it, but I already saw the worker making it the LITERAL minute I sent the order request. I was both impressed and a little bummed LOL. I still enjoyed the drink since mango is like crack for me heehee. It was similar to Silky Mango except less sweet and with matcha. The boba was a teensy bit harder this time around but ehhh...it was basically free so I wasn't too upset. I would get this drink again though. I normally build my own drink here and get either jasmine MT or rose oolong. If you're someone who doesn't like their drinks too sweet, opt for the 50% sugar, 75% was too sweet for my liking. They also offer lactose free milk as their base milk. They have other options like oat milk as well! As most boba places, adjustable sweetness and ice. White crystal - 4/5 - drink was light and refreshing, but had barely any crystal boba. Warning: birthday drink redemption rant and I know it's a first world problem. I came in to redeem my birthday drink - PSA you get a $6 drink if you are signed up for their app! They were right, so I tried to place my order. It seemed to work, but unfortunately something wasn't right when I hit send and so it told me to re-enter my payment information. I had taken off the promo I had applied so I didn't get to redeem my birthday reward, I called the store immediately, but they were not able to do anything as far as cancel or refund since I already paid, I just went to the store and picked up my drink. I got the guava Sunset with aloe, and it was delicious! I got it less sweet, but I must say it was still pretty sweet. My kids loved it! I do wish they had some thing other than less sweet as an option. Can I do 25% sweet? I don't know what less sweet means! I like that they give samples in store, so I got to try their strawberry sangria, which I had been intrigued about. It was made full, sweet, so it was quite a bit sweeter than I would get, but it was quite tasty! I also like how clean and pretty the store is. Teaspoon has friendly wait staff, good drinks which are reasonably priced. Tried their strawberry colada, guava sunset, grapefruit garden, and mango funtime...all delicious. What sets this place apart from other boba drink shops? The toppings. They have a relatively decent amount of topping options; the popping boba is my favorite. Not only do they offer the popping boba, they offer several flavors of it. How can you go wrong with multiple flavors of popping boba? Something about the texture and how the flavorful juice explodes in your mouth when you apply pressure to each piece. The popping boba is a must-have topping. The jelly toppings are nice too. 2 drinks for $14 The mango smoothie with chamoy and tajin, make sure to mix it up real good before you put in the straw, otherwise you get a big gulp of straight chamoy. The guava sunset is super tangy and refreshing, perfect on a hot summer day. The boba is very chewy, pretty standard. The drinks are only one size, but they ask you how sweet you'd like the drink. I've been to this Teaspoon several times over the years -- usually a standard experience compared to other locations within the Teaspoon chain family. I ordered a Lychee on Lychee today. My friend didn't want anything as she already had her morning coffee. I added grass jelly to my drink in addition to the lychee jelly the drink combo already came with as a standard. My only suggestion would be to add honey or brown sugar to the grass jelly because it always tastes so plain when I order it at a Teaspoon. The black tea infused with lychee was fine. Another thing I will note is that you can't customize a lot of the speciality drinks because they're already pre-made or pre-mixed. If you are like me and like to customize sweetness levels, you will likely have to build-your-own drink. Other than that, not a whole lot to report. It is still a order-at-the-door format for this Teaspoon (like all the others in the area), but they'll get you on your way pretty quickly. read more

Finally managed to end up at one of these Teaspoon spots. Ordered their signature Taro drink which...well...it's about the 4 star rating I'm giving the location. The drink is good. But as my friend who went with me said, the place isn't exactly mind blowing. It's satisfying when looking for a drink but compared to Boba Bliss' taro ube drink, I'd take Boba Bliss in a heart beat. As much as the taro drink at boba bliss was good, the taro itself is way too bland. Not sure if the sugar content isn't enough or if there's just too much milk. The taro drink is caffeine free as it's really just taro milk, but I do wish the taro flavor is much stronger. That said, I do appreciate the fact you can adjust/customize drinks by the amount of sugar vs ice. Though...I put mine at regular sugar and 0% ice and it was still bland. My roommate put me on Teaspoon, as it's been her favorite for a long time. When I finally tried it, I totally understood where she was coming from. Teaspoon, although they have a limited menu, is the mecca of all boba places. Their menu is so artfully balanced with refreshing, fruity drinks and rich, fragrant milk teas. My favorite is the Grasshopper, which is a green tea with cucumber juice. During times when you don't particularly feel like being weighed down by a heavy milk drink, the Grasshopper is a wonderful refresher. I've also tried the paradise lime, which is delicious as well. My sister's favorite is their Liquid Gold, which I believe is one of their best-sellers. It's a classic milk tea, smooth and creamy in all the right places. Teaspoon is still one of my favorite boba shops. Their drink menu is a bit limited but I do like their tea. They have the best Jasmine milk tea from all the boba shops I've tried. I also like their grasshopper, grapefruit, liquid gold, and white grape. I always get my drinks 50% sweet and light ice. The one drink I would stay away from is the passionfruit line. Not a fan of them leaving the seeds in these drinks although they say the seeds are really good for you. Yesterday went for their Panda Pin promotion. Spend $25 get 1 pin, spend $40 get 2 pins. The COVID set up at this location is a bit difficult. They put a table right inside the door and have customers yell across to the workers at the register to place an order. It is really difficult to hear with a mask already, but they also want you to order from about 15 feet away from the register, but then the girl comes over to get your credit card anyways. They could have invested in plexiglass so customers don't have to yell across the shop. Also, it's a very small space near the door, this is where people are ordering and picking up their drinks. They do have the option to order online, but felt that even if you do that you may have to wait in line to pick up your drinks because it really only fits 1 or 2 people where they have the set up.
