Super excited to find that a specialized boba place finally opened in the area! I got the Taro Lover which had taro chunks in it-- a first for me but it was delicious. A little bit sweet for my taste since it was one of the drinks that they made beforehand, but it was a sacrifice easily made for the taro () I was pleasantly surprised that you could build your own drinks (selecting tea, cream, etc.). That along with the tea samples were things I found unique to Teaspoon. They make the whole experience a lot more interactive and interesting! Service was great-- felt very personal. I think the only thing I would suggest is adding a sign with all the sweetness/ice levels. (Maybe have samples with varying sweetness to help customers see what level they prefer?) I wasn't sure what to expect since this was my first trip here. Luckily the manager (or owner?) was in and was patient enough to answer all of my boba related questions. She even let me sample a few different bobas, all of which were great. Ironically, I ended up ordering Lemonade with Ube, just out of sheer curiosity (and a healthy love of lemonade). I loved it. So excited to see this is FINALLY open! Apparently, yesterday was their first day. Really good boba and such friendly service. Would love to see the customization options on the menu (ie: sweetness levels, ice levels, etc.) and maybe some light housekeeping done in between customers since there were napkins and straw wrappers on the tables and floors. I asked for my boba without cream, didn't like it so I asked her to add the cream and she was so nice about it. No dirty look no attitude no questions. 4 stars for the decor, friendly staff, good size drinks, and boba itself, however, the actual drinks need some work. I ordered the house milk tea which was very watered down and not sweet tasting. My partner had the brown sugar assam, which probably would've been better if it had more ice and was not warm. Hopefully they continue to improve as I know they are just getting started. As a mom, I always hesitate when my kids ask for boba, it's nothing but synthetic syrups and sugars filled with many things that are just bad for you. Teaspoon is completely different. I happened to meet the owner and she walked me through their whole preparation process of al the ingredients. No synthetic syrups, all mulled fresh fruit on site, house made sugar syrup and simple, pure ingredients. They even use organic milk and raw sugar. Even the tea is a much better quality than the usual boba house. Plus it's delicious! It's a relief to feel less guilt taking my kids out for a treat.
