    Honestly just don't buy a Hyundai…read more I bought a 2013 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid in 2015. It had TONS of recalls over the years, but the one that really did it in, was the "safety plug" recall in 2023-2024. We moved to CT a few years ago, and started using Meriden Hyundai. Honestly every experience was worse than the last, and based on these reviews, I likely didn't need brake pads when they replaced them. Oil changes always took hours, and they always came up with something they declared that the car needed. Mind you, I hardly put 6k miles on the car a year, and it had a total of 90k miles on it when I got rid of it. The last straw was the THIRD time after the safety plug recall fix that the car told me while I was driving down the road "hybrid battery safety warning, stop and turn off the car" each time I did this, the car would turn back on with the check engine light on. The first time, I had it towed to the dealership, they laughed, saying I could have driven it there. Each time, they "inspected the car" they would say there were no codes, and magically the check engine light was off after they got ahold of it. The last time they said the same, after keeping it for three days when they scheduled us for a 1.5 hour appointment, then drove it for four miles to "make sure." Needless to say, I no longer trusted Hyundai Corporate or this service department. We did ask them for a sell quote and after an entire day, they shouted $2500 at us when we went to get the car. We traded it in to another dealership (with all problems declared), the next day for $4000. Do yourself a favor. Don't buy a Hyundai (or a Kia), but if you still have one, avoid this place at all costs.

The sales associate (Amber) was nice & forthrite, confirming the vehicle was available & answering all of my questions. The interaction left me feeling positive about this dealership, so I requested an appointment to see that specific car. They confirmed my appointment via text multiple times. The morning of the appointment (that's today!) I decided to text that same number to confirm that the vehicle was still there, as the drive to this dealership is almost 2 hours from my home. They responded & told me that the vehicle was sold, but I should take a look at their other options & let them know which I was interested in so they could have them ready for my appointment. I never showed any interest in their other vehicles. I was very clear that there was one single car I wanted to see, & so that's the car I made an appointment to see. They sold the car & were never going to tell me. They were going to let me drive 2 hours one way to find out the car was gone. That's a really dodgy business practice. Not only will I not be buying a vehicle from a dealership willing to waste my time like this, I'll definitely be advising other people to stay away as well. Amber was a good sales associate & I wish she worked elsewhere.

    As we were driving across the state to go to a fair, we began to hear a bumping noise which soon…read moreturned it horrible banging. We managed to make it off the highway and stopped at Allied. They took the car for a ride and then put it on a lift to discover that there were only 3 lug nuts on a wheel. There were only 4 on another wheel. The last place that serviced our car had not tightened the lug nuts!!!! This shop moved some lug nuts so that there would be four on each tire, so that we could get home. We ordered and put the new ones on today. Thank you so much for your speedy service. You were polite, patient and helpful and refused to take money for the job, or helping us out. From the moment I stepped foot inside, the workers were friendly, took time to listen to what I was saying was going on with my vehicle, and made me feel like I was in trusted hands. I was hooked when they told me, "let's get the vehicle safe" and then the rest we will take care of little by little if you need. This showed they cared and were built on a foundation of making customers feel like family. I went to Allied to get a second opinion on an issue that was not fixed by my former mechanic. I took a chance at Allied based on some really strong and positive reviews. All the reviews were SPOT ON. They take pride in what they do and it shows. My vehicle was returned feeling better than it has in a long time. I truly felt like I was treated like a member of their family. It's a breath of fresh air to have a competent and reliable mechanic that I can trust. If you need a good mechanic, Allied is the place to go.
