I've been looking for a great tea place for awhile now only to discover there's one I missed right down the road from where I live it was recommended to me by an employee at Starbucks so I gave it a try and I wish I had discovered this months ago as its probably the best tea house I've been to thus far! I've been here several times on the weekends and it's usually busy but not where you have to wait longer than 5-10 min for food and drinks. I usually order jasmine milk with boba, no sugar, no ice, and the banh mi. I like both but want to try other items. The store is usually clean and the cashiers are friendly. Bad customer service. They make a lot of mistakes with your orders and they don't take appropriate corrective action. They messed up our order and told us to wait outside, every time we came in to check on our order they kept telling us to wait outside some more. Finally we got our drinks after about an hour. Was my favorite place for Bahn mi. We always get the grilled pork and it's fresh, hot and perfect. Today, November 3rd we ordered our families sandwhiches, they absolutely used old pork and reheated it. It was rubbery and not freshly cooked like it usually is. They always mess up the toppings! I would have loved to give five stars, but every time I go in, this seems to happen to at least one of the drinks in my order. young girl behind the counter took our order at 430pm. had us waiting for 30 minutes and called out my name at 500pm. assumed that both items in the order were ready but only the taro smoothie was ready. she said ok i'm just gonna make the oreo smores smoothie. she made it in 2 minutes and placed on the counter saying it was ready and walked away to do something else. i looked at it thinking she made the wrong drink since it had the consistency of a slushy and not a smoothie. and the second drink was incorrect as well. in the end i just accepted it because i didn't have time to wait for her to remake the drink correctly. she turned around & blankly said "oh did you want the marshmallow?!." i told her no because i didn't want a poorly rushed item that should have been done already instead of just standing there watching the blender. both of the drinks that were ordered came out wrong, but the girl gave off a dismissive and lazy vibe. if you're going to come in with this vibe , please do everyone else a favor and call out or ask for more training. read more

Ready to make our trip down to Monterey, the hubby and I decided to make a quick pit stop for boba to keep us hydrated for the long car ride. TeaLeaf looked promising enough on Yelp, but alas, it missed the mark. The establishment itself is vast and roomy, filled with an abundance of seats that sadly weren't taken up by a single guest. We were the only ones there when we entered that Saturday afternoon. Does that already spell doomsday for the business? The menu isn't typical of most boba places we've frequented, but some flavors were familiar. The hubby decided to try the Oreo S'mores smoothie while I got their classic milk tea with crystal boba. Service was a tad slow, considering we were the only customers there, and the prices were typical. I watched one of the ladies prepare the hubby's Oreo S'mores smoothie and was flabbergasted to see her use a hair dryer to "torch" the marshmallow. Honestly, with that kind of preparation, we would have rather had no marshmallow at all. Super weird! The hubby's drink was the best of the two, but by no means great. While there was an Oreo taste, it was certainly too subtle and the smoothie itself came off watery. As for my classic milk tea, it completely lacked the creaminess of a normal milk tea. Honestly, it tasted more like an overwhelmingly sweet tea, but at least the agar boba were good. Sorry TeaLeaf, but that's a hard pass from us. read more

No face diaper, no entry. make sure you check your drink before you leave. I ordered an almost $8 drink, and didn't realize it was wrong until I got home. I am a mother with another baby on the way, so after I had realized it, I wasn't in the mood to get packed up and go back to have them remake it. I called the next day and asked them to remake my drink and the owner said NO. Because apparently it has to be done the same day... I told her I had taken a photo of it and she still said no. That is ridiculous. It costs them cents to remake the drink, but they won't do it. Garbage. I won't be going back there. I have been to tea leaf a couple of times and so far it has been good. It is now under new management, and the new owner is so sweet. She offers me samples and answers questions directly. The decor is so cute and shabby chic. Unfortunately, there isn't alot of customers but I think its due to lack of advertising. They would have been packed with people of people knew they were there. I recommend coming here if you want a sweet treat and good company. The only thing I do miss is when they could add less sugar to your drinks which they don't do anymore. The thai milk tea was still good though, and the shrimp spring rolls are so good!! My husband LOVES their Magonadas. TeaLeaf is a good spot for boba. The reason for the 4 star instead of 5 star is they aren't the quickest when it comes to getting your items. Yes they are typically busy but I've been to other spots where they are much more efficiently. The key which I've learned is to either order online or call ahead 20-30 minutes to feel like it's enough time where you can just go inside and out. Love the products they have here which they have done a good job on that and I'll always still come here. read more

Bad cashier! She was so rude and was rushing us when we ordered very quickly for a group of 6.. She also was so bad at understanding that we wanted to switch out the toppings. Unsure of her name but she was working tonight (Thursday). They close at 7PM but at 6:40PM the same girl started putting up the chairs on the tables which is fine but she did it for a table where another customer was sitting. I worked for a boba place in the past for many years and we were always told to never do that... that is very inconsiderate and rude knowing there was still 20 minutes left until they closed. The toppings added on to the fries are so good, so I definitely recommend trying them out. The popcorn chicken was tasty with spicy mayo and sweet and sour sauce, but personally I think it could benefit from some MSG . Both drinks were great, but the Thai smoothie hit different... for sure worth a try. Nice chew to the pearls and not too sweet. We got the matcha milk 50 perfect ice n 75 sweet with aloe Oolong tea with watermelon with strawberry bites Oolong tea 30% sweet and 25% Ice black pearls They were giving out free light bulb cups for their soft opening. Sweet. The drinks took about 20 mins to be made which is reasonable because it's their soft opening. In the oolong watermelon and matcha they forgot the toppings, but no big deal. I simply just asked them and they remade the drink. Overall love the ambiance. Will have to come back to try the other drinks and banh mi sandwiches. The space is clean and the decor was really cute. Happy to see a business like this in Gilroy! Ordered the strawberry mint tea with basil seeds and two banh mis, pork and pork belly. The drink was refreshing, but the food was definitely the star. $10 a sandwich is steeper than most places in San Jose, but if you're in Gilroy and don't want to make the drive, these are worth it.
