We recently completed a full kitchen and living room remodel with TBG Construction, and we are so happy with the result. Remodeling is never a simple process, and while our project took longer than we originally anticipated, some of that was due to changes we made to the original plans, through it all, Jehovany and the TBG Construction team remained responsive, thoughtful, and committed throughout the entire experience. Jehovany's creativity and eye for design and his suggestion to remove the low-hanging soffits and raise the ceiling completely transformed our kitchen making it feel brighter and more open. The custom cabinetry for our double-oven and a special-order hood vent came out beautifully. The transition from the new large-format tile to the existing flooring in several hallways was handled seamlessly. We also absolutely love the LED lighting track Jehovany recommended above the fireplace, along with the stunning custom-designed mantel that gives the living room a modern, elegant feel. Any concerns or issues that came up during the remodel were always addressed, and we appreciated Jehovany's willingness to work with us to make sure everything came together the right way. In the end, the quality of the finished product speaks for itself. Unfortunately, I cannot give negative stars. Please BEWARE of this company. Our nightmare began in September of 2025 and finally ended in May of 2026 because he largely abandoned the job. We hired TBG and Jehovany to remodel 2 bathrooms and to restore a large pool with pavers around it, and to add a 2-foot wall in a different area of our yard. After the first bathroom took 7 months to complete, we asked him not to work on our 2nd bathroom. The bathroom completion was literally at a snails pace with his workers constantly complaining that they had no materials to work with, which delayed the job often. Eventually, he moved to the backyard but we were told over and over that the next steps were coming and they never did. Beginning months ago, I kept asking if the pavers had been ordered and I was told they had only to learn they hadn't. He had our pool chipped out but did not complete it. Other aspects of the pool that were promised, were not delivered. The work has been mostly shoddy at best. We have a semi finished 2 foot wall that is wavy, no mortar between some blocks, concrete spills all over, and different heights throughout. It will have to be demolished and redone. This situation was very stressful for me and my family. We do not wish this on anyone. Additionally, I am shocked that another individual gave 5 stars just a few weeks ago. My experience was very similar to another poster and I only wish I had read their post before hiring this company. We got lip service but little more. DO NOT HIRE 4 month exterior remodel; he walked out on us after 1 year of very slow unskilled work. We begged him for more workers and he never did, one guy or two guys were unskilled, nothing square, concrete counter cracked after 2 months they didnt use a top screen to prevent cracking. Balcony rails cut in 4x4 hole with a flat 2x6 on bottom, not to code or remotely safe His roofer didnt use paper or drip edge on the rake sides. Many items were done wrong and he said he would fix them. SOD base was only 2-3 inches, suppose to be 7-8, used 2 inch sprinklers and never wired to controller or adjusted them. Entry trellis extremely unsupported, I had to get structural engineer to work out the 3 extra posts, LVL, and 2x6's to help out a 2-3 inch sag. Underground drains were not fixed, wrong color masonry grout on block wall gray verses red like the other 100 feet of the wall. One worker did pavers, concrete, framing, plumbing, sprinklers, stucco, crushed granite, and demo. Used screw to support solid gas line. We were taken by tbg construction jehovany barraza. Do not hire this construction company!!! I had tile floors installed and they were left with a waxy coating that TBG could not remove. They discounted the job by a very small amount and I was left with the job of scrubbing the tiles with a vinegar mixture. They used the worst painter ever! Just did a sloppy job of applying a too thick coating of paint. I refused to have them back in my home to try to fix job. Again TBG gave me a small discount. Entire job was plagued with problems that I had to point out to TBJ. New fireplace mantel was too small and they had to reconstruct it. Carpeting was not laid correctly and still isn't a good carpeting job. There are too many errors to list here. Just DO NOT hire this company. read more

Honest O is a DisHonest Neighbor. I live next door (Laurie) where my sister (Dara) employs TBG Construction. Honest O blew off the contractor when he came over to discuss the matter. Without estimates for repair costs and proof of who is responsible, nothing can be resolved. Meanwhile a flatbed truck has hauled the car away a month ago. Until then, flat tires made this car an eyesore lowering property values. The damage was a dent about 8 by 10 inches, not extensive. The car had a cover on it so no paint scrapes would be evidence of whatever caused the dent. With the car under cover for at least the last 6 years, no one was aware of any damage until a wind happened to blow the cover away. It isn't clear when the damage occurred. There is no proof that the damage came from TBG, since we have had several contractors do work for us over the last 2 years, if the damage even occurred in the last two years. The neighbor is trying to get money from others with no documented proof of loss. TBG Construction is a good contractor. They respond quickly to issues. The neighbor has failed to produce any estimate or bill for damages or any evidence that TBG is responsible. She complains instead of politely submitting a bill and discussing the matter. Unfortunately, my next door neighbor used this company. As a neighbor, I had problems from the start. I had to get after them for leaving trash on the ground that blew into my yard. When they prepped the exterior of my neighbor's home they blasted sticky wet paint chips all over my property. I, also, overheard an argument that one of the workers had with someone who appeared to be a supervisor. From what I heard, the worker paid for something and wasn't getting reimbursed for his expenditure toward the job. I heard the worker say, "You don't treat the other guys this way. Are you treating me like this because I'm illegal". The worst outcome is the fact that my 1966 Mustang mysteriously got a severely dented rear fender. I had my classic car parked in an upper driveway, alongside my garage (1 foot in from the property line). It was covered with a car cover. The car hadn't been driven or moved since before they began work at my neighbor's house. There was no way that anything from my property could have hit my right rear fender that was facing my neighbor's property. Unfortunately, I didn't discover the situation until after the fact. I believe that someone associated with the job hit my car with something heavy. The contractor had constant activity in the area alongside my car with heavy equipment, supplies and various other things moving back and forth. No one is taking responsibility for the damage. They got away with it on the day they did it, so no one is owning up to anything now. If you see your neighbors using this contractor, run out and get some cameras installed on your property. PS: During a conversation with the owner, I mentioned the conversation I overheard with one of his workers admitted to being illegal, the owner tried to say I was offensive and racist. No, I'm not racist. Stating a fact of what I definitely heard is not racist, using the word "illegal" instead of "undocumented" is not racist, nor is a belief that a license contractor shouldn't use any illegal workers for any tasks is not racist and the expectation that our immigration laws be enforced is not racist. read more

I recently hired TBG Construction for a full kitchen and master bath remodel for my condo based on rave reviews from a friend who had used them for her kitchen remodel. From start to finish, I can't tell you how relieved and happy I was to find such a quality company who not only do as they say but are meticulous with workmanship and attention to detail! They are very professional and pleasant to deal with as well which was important to me as I was very hands on in picking materials and designing layouts. Jehovany, the owner, is such a knowledgable and likeable guy, I felt I could trust him completely with every aspect of the project including his talented workers who did amazing work! I had interviewed many different construction companies in San Diego prior to hiring TBG and even though they were driving from Orange County everyday they were always on time and worked very hard to keep the project on schedule. I was living there while it was going on and they made it as comfortable and useable as possible for me AND kept the dust and debris to a minimum always cleaning up after a day's work. Even after the job was finished, Jehovany gladly came out to fine tune a few things I asked him to. Furthermore, the estimate he gave me was very fair and didn't change as the job progressed. I used Jehovany (TBG Construction) to replace my ceramic floors with wood, in my house of approx 3,000 sq feet. When I first met him, I was impressed with his "chill" demeanor.. nothing was a problem for him. He came with his sweet father, who is also in construction, which pretty much sealed the deal for me. I had him lay my floor on the diagonal, with a herringbone pattern in my circular living room. I have a curved stone, floor to ceiling fireplace, so it was not a "piece of cake" installation. I also needed a granite hearth installed for my family room fireplace, which Jehovany designed in the round, to match my curved wall. The whole experience was wonderful! Pricing was extremely fair (Jehovany does not nickle and dime you) and he really aims to please! His crew were professional, hard working and very respectful of me and my things. He does things right and does not look to cut corners. For example, I had him tear out a floor to ceiling mirror due to some black discoloration on the bottom, and he took it upon himself to tear out the section of the drywall behind it, to discover some mold, as he had suspected. (He did not charge me for this). I could go on and on about all the extra things he did for me in my house, but this review would become too long. Outcome is, my floors look FABULOUS and he did it all within the promised time frame. Although we like opposing AL baseball teams (He, Angels, I, Yankees) my husband and I will use TBG Construction (Jehovany) for all our future construction needs. We first met Jehovany years ago when TBG installed flooring and tiling in a family rental property. He was extremely patient with us as we had to delay and delay installation. TBG also installed flooring in a second family rental property, as well as flooring and tiling in a third family rental property. Finally, TBG installed wood flooring and tiling in our home, along with rerouting plumbing and installing molding around all of our windows as well as skirting and molding on a spiral staircase. Living in a home while renovations are continuing will always be stressful and messy. Jehovany is so creative and easily solves any design problems as they come up. Jehovany's dad, Poncho, went over and above to insure all the plumbing was correctly done. Our house looked like swiss cheese but now you would never know as everything was put back to its original condition. Jehovany and his dad are like family and would most certainly have TBG handle any renovation again. By the way, Cisco is a perfectionist. I would agree and ditto with all the other positive postings. We used TBG for a large remodel. Jehovany came highly recommended by a coworker and he was everything I was told. He is creative, knowledgeable, calm and honest. He has great ideas and is conscientious of your budget. He is a great guy and his crews are respectful. Were there bumps along the way? Sure. But show me a large job that wouldn't. Hired these guys through Lumber Liquidators to refinish hardwood floors in my home. They completely botched the job ...... do not let these guys touch your floors. After 4 months of trying get satisfaction I had to sign off the job to move back into our house. read more
