I booked this company through the move help section of Uhaul after seeing a high rating - it was the right choice. Uhaul ended up botching my truck reservation - twice! But Eddie and Dave worked with me to reschedule up to the very last minute, and were very understanding of my frustrations. Their customer service went above and beyond. The guys handled my stuff with care and worked quite fast. Highly recommended!! read more

Wow!!!! Just WOW! We had them help come into our messy house to move out a ton of boxes and furniture so we can remodel. Two guys and 1 1/2 hours they were done! Very efficient, very friendly and very reasonable!!! Thanks guys we really appreciate your services read more

Eddie did my move about two weeks ago and it was fantastic, no damage, fast, best price in the area. He has a great family business and was absolutely helpful all the way. I wouldn't think twice about calling him next time I have to move. read more

Military cross country move - I hired Eddie and his team to pack my PODS - they arrived at 10:30 and by 11:30 they had loaded 85% of my place (note: I had a lot boxed in advanced except for big furniture) Super professional and easy to work with, highly recommend them for any military or regular movers in Monterey! read more

Tavares Packing & Loading - Here is the packing view after 1hr!! Awesome job! - Movers Near Me - Salinas, California

Tavares Packing helped our family with an incredibly quick and efficient move within Monterey County. Within less than 8 hours, Eddie and his team packed and moved all of our belongings to our new home. We have a toddler so we didn't want to pack up anything in advance and confuse her before moving. Thanks to Tavares, we were moved in just one day for a very reasonable price. read more

I'd use them again in spite of a glitch: I set up this move for my friend moving from Salinas to San Jose in a bit of a hurry. Eddie answered the phone right away. The price was GREAT even at a time of high demand for a mover. I got mixed up about the moving date, and I am very glad that Eddie took the time to repeatedly call us both to confirm the time and date of the reservation. Everything was good, the move was right on time, smooth, until we realized they didn't drop off one essential item to the new home (it was not a lot of stuff!!!). It took a few calls and texts to relocate the item. I had to send someone to go and pick it up from them in Salinas; there was no offer to get it to my friend in San Jose. When my Salinas friend arrived, the gate was locked and no one was there. After a lot of texts and angst, FINALLY he agreed to deliver it to the location in Salinas. It doesn't do my friend any good in San Jose. I like to give great reviews. This was the only disappointment in the entire moving operation. WHAT IS THE ESSENTIAL ITEM? you might ask. It is a very pricey espresso machine! If you are addicted to caffeine, and you gotta have your coffee JUST SO, you can empathize, I'm sure. I feel that if this were a GREAT business, he would have mailed it up to San Jose PRONTO. The bottom line is, sure I would use them again, but I'd be attentive to my things, which you shouldn't really need to do. read more

The best I was so impressed with there expertise and professionalism. I could really trust them. You want make a mistake using them.

Great people to work with, very handsome & professional!! Great rates and really could not have been more helpful with my move to the Bay Area. Thanks for your help guys! read more

Trustworthy moving experience! I contacted Eddie to help move my family from Monterey to San Jose. They estimate was spot on, they were on time and moved everything with consideration and care. Couldn't be happier with the services provided. read more

Two weeks ago Tavares Packing & Loading moved us from our house in Salinas, where we had lived for 30 years, to our new home in Pacific Grove. Eddie Tavares, his sons, and Fernando, a long-time employee, worked one day packing, and the next day they loaded everything in two trucks and moved us into our new home. They covered our furniture in plenty of pads and carefully packed dishes and breakables in boxes with lots of bubble and foam wrap, so nothing was broken or even scratched. There were big marble tops on some of our furniture and we also had a large marble-topped garden table. Marble is heavy, and it's fragile, but they moved it all with no problems. Eddie and his crew unloaded our belongings in Pacific Grove as carefully as they had loaded them in Salinas. All the furniture was placed according to a diagram that we gave them. Our clothes were transferred from six garment boxes to our closets, and then they took the boxes away. It took us almost two weeks to unpack our boxes of books, dishes, and other belongings. We finally finished yesterday and Kevin Tavares picked up the remaining boxes this morning. Tavares Packing & Loading did an outstanding job of moving us. We have never had a better move. They are friendly, careful, and conscientious. Their price was more than fair, and we highly recommend them. read more

I used Tavares to move from Monterey to Moss Landing. The price was very fair and the job was done very quickly. The truck they brought couldn't fit all my crap in it, but they had a smaller pickup to get the rest. Hard workers and fast, and they took great care of my items. read more

The Tavares family helped me move some large furniture from my uncle's home to mine- Sacramento to Pacific Grove. They have helped my family move twice before with in Pacific Grove, so when my uncle passed away and I needed help with an out of the area move, they stepped up big time. They worked in my move with another long one. Even though they were exhausted, they were professional, kind and respectful. I was having a hard time with my uncle's death and really needed a win- they gave me that. They are the only moving company I will use. Never a scratch on any furniture and they even gave me some furniture staging advise that I have used since- placing items diagonally to the corner VS flat to the wall:) Thank you Tavares Family!!! read more

Quick, Efficient in Packing. Had to hire another mover to Texas but wanted them to pack because they were quick, friendly, efficient and nothing broke! Lot's of glass, dishes, and lot's of framed art - and nothing broke!. We are seniors and they made our move easy and wonderful. read more

Eddie and crew did a wonderful job moving my husband and I from California to Colorado. Every interaction, from meeting for our estimate, to arrival time to destination was excellent. The young men that unloaded our things in Colorado made sure the floor of our new house was protected as it was raining on move in day. They placed blankets on the floor to protect our wooden floors from getting water on them. We feel as if we gained a friend in Eddie!----his sons are as awesome as he is. Definitely recommend this company for good service. Jim and Darlene P. read more

Tavares Packing and Loading were a Godsend to me. I sold my house and was ready to move, but the escrow date kept changing. I would call Eddie , the owner, and explain what was happening and he told me each time to not worry and when I was ready he would make it happen. And he did!! Eddie, Kevin and Fernando showed up right on time on the day of my move. He held it on his truck for me for a day and was right on time on delivery day. These guys are careful and fast. To tell you the truth they were fun to be around. Pricing was VERY fair. I can't give Eddie and the guys enough kudos. They did a great job! I'd use Tavares Packing and Loading again in a heart beat. The move was smooth! Eddie and his team go above and beyond when it comes to customer service. I used Tavares Moving this month for a big multiple destination move from Carmel to Oakland, and everything went seamlessly. They were fast and efficient, and they were very polite and helpful. Nothing was damaged, and they were communicative before the move to confirm details and to make sure that everything went smoothly. read more

Eddie & crew made my move from Monterey Bay to Palo Alto quick, easy, and low stress.

We've experienced a bad move with this mover/packing company with approximately $6000 in damage to shoes with mold, mattress foundation damage, furniture damage and still awaiting furniture they have in their possession for delivery after damage. We've called repeatedly for months and the owner or none of the crew has returned our calls to resolve the issues. Mr. Taveres claims we are family and if you have any problems to contact him...well, he NEVER returns your calls and we're still waiting which has left us potentially now suing him since we still have the evidence and notifying others of problems with this moving and storing company that can protect the public. My husband and I aren't vindictive people...we're quite honest, retired professionals and so disappointed this nightmare has happened to us. We're still open to resolution from Mr. Tavares in a timely manner since this has been going on since December 2020/January 2021. Eddie , please call my husband, Rich asap...we believed in you! read more

Tavares Packaging & Loading accepted a job from Moving Helper to pick up Uboxes and deliver and load. They contracted for a certain amount but canceled because they didn't understand they had to pick up the boxes. They left me stranded and having to pay double. I have used Tavarez moving several times plus I used their storage services. They are the best movers I have ever used. Their moving services were outstanding. They showed up on time and worked diligently. Nothing was broken or ruined by the move or storage. Here's some of the things they moved: valuable antique chairs, 9 foot mirror, large ligne roset sofa, high end stereo (B&W Speakers), antique large dining table, and large paintings. Screws were missing to the desk. The owner bought new screws and came by personally to set it up. Thank you Tavarez, Sincerely, Sandra read more

My experience with these guys was fantastic. I was moving from Monterey, CA to San Mateo, CA, and they made it super easy for me. Price is competitive and service fantastic. They packed my stuff super fast while being friendly and fun to work with. They were also flexible enough that let me ride with them on the way to San Mateo :) They offloaded fast and were super helpful organizing my stuff in the new house. I totally recommend these guys for your move! read more

Eddie and his guys moved me from Fresno to Monterey. He was quick and efficient. He gave me an awesome price and was very friendly and professional. I highly recommend using Tavares packing and loading if you have a little or a lot to move! read more

We cannot recommend Tavares Packing & Loading highly enough. They were everything we wanted in a mover. The fact that they are a family owned and operated local business was very important to us. The level of personal service was superb. Eddie Tavares, his son, Kevin, and the other men on our packing and moving team were all extremely professional, courteous and friendly. When we called for a quote Eddie came himself the very next day. Their quote was reasonable and we accepted it right away. The packing was done expertly. We had lots of very fragile crystal and china plus many antique pieces of furniture. There was no breakage at all. Everything arrived at the new house in perfect condition. A 10 out of 10!!!!! read more

Eddie and his son did an awesome job unpacking our moving truck and placing items throughout the house. They were on time, thorough, took care of our furniture and multiple boxes of fine China, and didn't leave a scratch on the brand new paint in the house. Highly recommend them to anyone needing assistance moving! read more

I called to get an estimate from the Tavares moving company Eddie answered and gave a $100.00 hourly quote 2 hour minimum. Sounded reasonable so I set a date for Saturday @ 9AM. Eddie and his son arrived about 10 mins early and got straight to business. I thought we were going to have to do two trips but Eddie amazing fit everything in the truck and finished in only one trip. Eddie and his son disassembled all the furniture ( beds, dresser etc...) and then assembled them at our new house all with in 2 hours. They do a great job. If I had to move again I would surely use them again. read more

For your safety and the safety of your belongings DO NOT choose this moving company. I ordered a ubox from uhaul and they brought it over to load it for me. They arrived on time and were nice and that is the only compliment I can give them. I was initially concerned with how they moved my stuff because they were putting boxes CLEARLY LABELED fragile and this side up sideways and upside down. I expressed my concern and Eddie said I know what I've been doing and everything will be fine. I should have trusted my gut. I have moved myself across the country twice with no moving help and had nothing broken. When I opened the box 1/3 of the stuff fell out on to myself and the uhaul lady helping me. It was not properly secured and packed by them. I am covered in bruises and I am sure the uhaul helper is as well. Once I got closer to the back I could see the real damage done. He put really heavy boxes on the frame of my suitcase which bent the frame, he wedged a $300 ferret cage in a spot it didn't fit very well and bent the legs so it's no longer usable and my lamp was broken because a box was placed on it. I haven't even opened the boxes to see the damages done to them. I called to complain and he blamed everything on uhaul even though it was clear that the stuff in the back hadn't moved and it was damaged from how it was packed and he hung up on me. When you move and take things with you it's because the things you want to take are valuable and important to you and this company doesn't care about that. On top of that my money is valuable to me. I not only paid to have him poorly back my stuff but I have to replace the items he broke. I would not recommend them and I would never use them again. read more

Eddie, You've Been Yelped!!! I contacted Eddie to give me a quote for moving, he quickly set up a time to do a walk through, and gave me a very reasonable price within less than 15 min. We set up a move date and a time that he would start. Eddie's sons showed up right on time and got to work very quickly. Eddie and his family did a wonderful job. They moved all of our furniture and boxes with no damage. They dis-assembled furniture as needed and re-set everything back up in the places we wanted them. I don't plan on moving for a very long time, but If I do Eddie @ Tavares Packing and Loading will be my first call. read more

The moving was more than 1 hours drive away. With many stuff for four bedroom house including a grand piano, the guys finished loading , driving, unloading within 8 hours. The price is unbeatable. PLEASE RECONSIDER USING THIS COMPANY!! READ THE FULL REVIEW!! I used Tavares Moving and Storage to move my belongings, store them for a few months and bring them to where I now live in Napa Valley. They broke a few things, scratched many and ruined others. They stored my furniture and belongings in these strange wooden crates and then used the wooden crates to transport my belongings from Salinas to Napa Valley on 7/21/2018. I had a Pottery Barn table and chairs that they are absolutely ruined and I asked that they replace the items. They were new and in perfect condition when they stored them. I was able to speak to the owner Eddie who was in Colorado at the time of delivery and he agreed to replace the items using "insurance." I paid them for the move in good faith and I gave them a verification of what I paid for the 3 items and then DRIVER ORLANDO STOLE THE THREE ITEMS WITHOUT PERMISSION ON EDDIE'S INSTRUCTIONS and went back to Salinas!!! Eddie will not return my phone calls and he has made no effort to replace the items that were damaged and frankly, quite expensive. I have filed a police report, And I am in the process of contacting various consumer agencies to report the business. Next is filing court documents and handle this legally as I will not allow the situation to go unreported and unnoticed. read more

Eddie and his team packed us up over two days for an upcoming PCS. They were all professional and courteous. Clearly a good group of people to work with. Eddie even came out on the third day to help pack a mirror that we all missed during the final walk through. We highly recommend these guys. read more

Responsive, kind and professional. They helped me move with barely any notice. If I could give them 10 stats I would.

On time? Actually not really, they called me asking if I wanted them to come even earlier than the agreed time. Professional? I needed them to move a few items too heavy or bulky for myself, which they did. Human interaction? Definitely a nice couple of guys, not a grumpy sort who barely exchange a word. Above an beyond? I called them specifically to move 3 pieces, and we agreed on that, then I asked them to help me move other stuff, which they did. Price? I didn't call anybody else, so I can't make a statistical comparison, but I think it was absolutely fair. To sum up: 5 stars. read more
