Im 50/50 on this place. There was no issue with the order or staff. They were quite nice and moved quickly. I will say, they have really good croissants. My issue is actually with the sour coffee. I can't explain it better than that... it tasted sour. Was it a bad brew, or is it normally sour? I'll have to give em another shot, but I live far so when I'm in town I'll try again, but for now... my worst criticism is that the coffee is sour. :(
Tatte is a Boston classic! We were looking for a spot with pastries and ended up here since there were Tatte's everywhere we turned in the city lol. I love the vibe of the bakery! We ordered the halva latte, halva brownie, and pistachio croissant. The croissant was a 10/10, the latte and brownie were just okay. I prefer a slightly chewy brownie, and this one was a little too dense for my liking. The halva latte was also just okay; the halva was a bit overwhelming. It was busy on the Sunday we visited; we were looking for a spot to sit and either the tables were filled with dirty dishes or the tables weren't wiped clean very well.
Extremely happy I got to stop by here while in Boston with the fam! The food was amazing and fresh, and also most importantly, tasty. Service was quick and everyone who worked here was friendly and efficient. Next time I'm in Boston this place is a must go to. The shakshouka and the lamb hash came out fast and warm, going to be my go to for sure.
This was my first time visiting Tatte Bakery and Cafe. Their pastries are nothing short of perfection. The almond croissant is flaky, buttery, and just the right amount of sweet. I went 30 minutes close to closing and what I appreciated was the display case was just as full as if they just opened. The atmosphere was pleasant and seemed to have plenty of room. Highly recommend.
This was our first stop after being dropped off at the hotel, just a quick three-minute walk away. I'd seen so many great reviews on Yelp and TikTok that I had to try it for myself. When we walked in, it wasn't busy, and the staff was super patient while we took our time deciding what to order. We ended up getting a few pastries and the egg scramble with prosciutto definitely my favorite. I also tried the ginger date oat milk latte, which was amazing. If you're a ginger lover like me, this drink hits the spot bold but perfectly balanced. The café itself had a really cute vibe, the kind of cozy yet lively spot you'd expect to find in a busy city.
Everything in this place was great, especially the people! I thought they did such a phenomenal job I asked their names specifically so I could write a review! As soon as we opened the door Susan greeted us with an extremely happy demeanor (even while she was doing something else). By the time we got to the register Marc helped us choose what to eat, a line had suddenly appeared behind us and he didn't even slightly rush us, instead he took the time to better explain and even give his recommendation on what to eat (the Sweet- French Toast, if you were wondering). We ended up sitting on the other side of the front/bar and throughout the meal the two of them would interact and speak to us! Susan was smiling and nice everytime she would walk by, suggesting things to do in the area. Marc was checking in with us each time he turned around to work on something. The entire time, they had a hectic line, but everytime they were working on something they also would use that same time to interact with others and create a great experience. Btw- food and drinks were fantastic, I'm just surprised how much better the experience was thanks to these two. We're visiting Boston and we ended up buying one of the mugs after because we enjoyed everything so much!
Love this cute place! If anyone ever asks for a cafe or light lunch or daytime date spot I would say this place is a safe choice. This is the first place I stopped at aftet the airport and what a gem. I love shakshuka so I was very pleased to see it listed and it's a great portion. The staff is friendly and it's got a lot of space. That being said it is popular so it does get busy and crowded depending on time of day you're there and what day. There are multiple locations and this was the first one I've ever been to. If I worked locally I'd probably make this a frequent lunch spot or even just a break spot for a snack even. This isn't a chain that expands to where I live so I will always make sure to visit one of them when I'm around here because I know it'll be good and love baked goods. Hope they expand to other areas that I'm near in the future!
Cute little (well not so little) bakery and coffee shop. The food was delish and the service was "ok". I may be being a bit too tough, but the girl behind the counter couldn't tell me if a drink had espresso in it and I had to get up to get my drink instead of it being brought to me. Maybe they were waiting for the tartine to be done so they could bring it all out together. On that note, after thinking about it while typing this, I'll change it to 5 stars. I also enjoyed looking out at the passersby's while eating and working on my computer.
My friend and I visited downtown Boston for the weekend, and our hotel was right next to this Tatte location. We were so pleased with the food we went here 2 days in a row for brunch and coffee! On the 2nd day, the cashier got my latte wrong, but one of the employees (bald guy) was quick at correcting my drink and making sure I was satisfied. There's just something so wholesome about the ambiance of this bakery/cafe that you want to try something new on their menu each time you visit. The line always seems long but the cashiers are relatively quick at taking orders.
Tatte is perhaps the best cafe in Boston. They have great food and really great pastries. It is also just a really nice place to sit and do work or read a book. While I don't drink coffee, the people I went with also really liked their drinks they have a really fun menu with lots of different offerings. There's a reason Tate McRae loves this place so much!

On the weekends/holidays it does get crowded, but it's got enough tables that generally something opens up pretty quickly. Service is always good. My thoughts on what I've tried: The roasted strawberry tea cake ($3.50?): a surprise delight! I expected it to be just a plain vanilla cake but it had a lovely rich almond-y flavor. Mini lemon tart (7.50): very meh. The meringue was oddly gritty, like the sugar had not dissolved, and there wasn't enough lemon flavor to balance out the cloying sweetness. Definitely not worth the steep price. Tiramisu ($7.50): yummy. Wish it had a stronger coffee flavor but still very pleasant. The coffee: nothing to write home about but not bad either. Overall: a tad overpriced but this is Boston after all. Lots of options for an afternoon pick me up with a decent cup of coffee. Definitely worth a visit.

I tried the new pistachio latte and it was delicious! Definitely on the milky side but a great taste of the pistachio. I loved everything at Tatte but I got the scrambled eggs with sun-dried tomatoes and spinach and it was delicious especially with the sourdough bread. read more

Everything in this place was great, especially the people! I thought they did such a phenomenal job I asked their names specifically so I could write a review! My friend and I visited downtown Boston for the weekend, and our hotel was right next to this Tatte location. We were so pleased with the food we went here 2 days in a row for brunch and coffee! Tatte is perhaps the best cafe in Boston. They have great food and really great pastries. It is also just a really nice place to sit and do work or read a book. While I don't drink coffee, the people I went with also really liked their drinks they have a really fun menu with lots of different offerings. There's a reason Tate McRae loves this place so much! read more

I love this bakery. We basically stopped for just a coffee, tea and croissants. They offer much more than this. If you want a full breakfast, you can just order of their menu and it is good. If you arrive later, you can have lunch. My favorite thing is all of the baked goods options. I literally want one of each. Also, they have amazing dessert options as well. The bakery is very clean and nice to sit and enjoy your coffee and baked goods. read more

The pistachio latte was delicious, no complaints. However this giant piece of carrot cake was really disappointing -- it wasn't moist at all and tasted as if it had been out for a long time. My friends also got food and they seemed very "eh" with their orders. The avocado toast my friend got was $15 and really small portion, the other friend has to get her eggs re-made. Overall, Tatte has never really wowed me. The pastries looked really delicious but after this carrot cake (which is usually my favorite thing to get), I don't think I'd want to buy any other pastry from here. The store was pretty though. Stopped in for lunch. Few tables but we three squeezed into a table for two. Lots of people just in their laptops w no food or drink taking up the tables. I had a BLAT, which is a BLT with avo. Thick bread, tangy bacon, big dollop of avo and lettuce and tomato. Daughter and wife shared a traditional shakshuka w two poached eggs. And we split two desserts. Very nice lunch, plenty of people watching. Would recommend if in area. read more
Let's start off by saying I love the staff at this Tatte almost as much as I love the drinks. The service is quick and amiable. The vanilla latte used oat milk and provides layers of flavor with a sweet outer shell, a creamy middle and a roasted finish. The rhubarb and herbed seltzer however, is something that I would come back for again and again. Minty and sweet, it's the perfect summer drink. Please come and try it you won't leave disappointed! The food is the only downside but I didn't expect it to be exactly gourmet. The soup was lukewarm and the sandwiches were passable. read more

Food: Tatte is easily my favorite brunch/cafe spot in Boston. I always make it a priority to visit once each time I have a trip to Boston. Surprisingly one of the few places I don't open Yelp for, to view photos of menu items before ordering! I'm super trusting of all menu items here and it's also the only place where I've gotten different dishes each time I visit. Ambiance: This location was one of the more spacious Tattes I've visited. Tables were incredible spread out and there was rarely any foot traffic during high peaks. Came here for a long study afternoon and found some access to outlets close to the water station. There were also booths near the bathroom and I assumed they had outlets as well, since lots of people were studying/working there. Quiet enough to get lots of work done! read more
Tatte for the win! Clean throughout. Friendly and helpful staff. Food was amazing. Pastries looked gorgeous. Roasted peach tartine was served on toasted sourdough with fresh mint leaf garnish. Yum! Eggs and spinach with goat cheese and sourdough toast got rave reviews from us. French toast also really hit the spot. A bit too much jam. We are staying nearby and this will be our go-to breakfast location! read more

I go to Tatte regularly, and they are very consistent! My go-to is their house latte because of its bold, sweet flavors with hint of nuttiness. I also love their shakshuka, although I do prefer the traditional over the one with lamb which I thought tasted a bit gamey! The challah bread could've also been toasted more as well. As for baked goods, I love them! Jerusalem bagel is my favorite (great texture and good if you're not a sweet tooth), and I love their pistachio croissant. read more

Tatte never fails! You can always count on a good cup of coffee, tasty breakfast, and yummy pastry! I had never been to this Dorchester location and was pleased that there was no line to order and our food came out fairly quick. read more
