Every dish that came out was packed with flavor, and there were so many great options that everyone at the table found something they loved. Solid 4 star spot. They gave us complimentary soup and a jello dessert. I do think their prices are a bit higher than but they give giant portions. Items ordered: -Beef chow fun: Meat was good and the noodles weren't super greasy but it lacked salt. A little more soy sauce or seasoning would be better -Salt and pepper pork chops: Very good. Crispy. -black bean fish fillet: good. Solid dish - green beans: solid. Good seasoning. Green beans crispy I think their lunch special is a better deal. Yay! Tasty Kitchen fills a void that existed in the area food-scene: solid Cantonese food. We drive down from Westchester when we don't want to drive all the way out to San Gabriel Valley. It's around a 45-minute RT for us, so it has to be good, right? Faves include: BBQ pork, shumai, beef in claypot, fried tofu & mushroom, Singapore noodles, salt & pepper squid (Chinese calimari), beef chow fun. Portions are ample and prices are reasonable (even when compared to SGV prices). Since getting a rec for Tasty Kitchen around a month ago, I've eaten here four times. Normally you'd need to go to the 626 to get authentic Chinese food, but luckily, I think we found a place closer to home. This place is legit. Come hungry, cuz the portions are large. Everything is family-style, so be prepared to share. We dined in, and they gave us soup and desert on the house as well. We got 4 dishes, split amongst two people. We came on a Saturday night and it was busy, but no wait for a table. The meal came with a complimentary soup for each person, typically it's a choice of hot and sour or egg drop soup. They were out of egg drop soup, so we all tried the hot and sour soup. It wasn't spicy, but very strong in pepper flavor. My favorite was the Salt and Pepper Squid, it was light, airy, and seasoned well. The BBQ Pork was a little dry, but I think that's because they use a leaner cut of meat. Prices lean mid-high, but their portions are extremely generous. One dish serves 4-6 portions easily if you are ordering other things. If you are just eating 1 dish, it's probably still enough for 2 portions! My go-to's: - Diced chicken and salty fish fried rice - one of my all-time favorites! They put in a perfect amount of salty fish. I get the flavor in every bite. - Beef chow fun - another classic dish, flavorful and perfectly "dry-fried" (the sauce is cooked into the noodles so there is no extra sauce served or needed) - Sauteed vegetables - they have different options; everything is great and I particularly love the pea leaves but they are seasonal I've honestly been happy with everything I've had here, including dishes from every category they offer. We have been dining at Tasty Kitchen since my kids were babies. My oldest is almost 21 and my twins are now 15. Came back on 3/1/26 and realized how much we missed eating here. Right when we entered our old time friend who was the owner back in the day remembered us and immediately welcomed us back. She is the kindest person ever. They have the best lunch specials, prices are great and generous portions. We love their beef chow fun, fried flounder, salt and pepper pork chops, salt and pepper calamari, fried wings and everything we have ordered and tried is delicious. The place is clean and relaxing. Very busy at lunch on a Saturday. We were seated immediately, but service was really slow because there were only two servers. The lunch special is available daily and includes rice and soup--unless you get a noodle soup. I got the beef stew noodle soup, and it came with a lot of meat and tendons. For dinner, I had decided to get a half order of Peking duck, and the greens with oyster sauce. I wanted to get green onion pancakes, but they were out. This was a take out order. I was told it would be ready in 45 minutes, and it was. Understandable as it takes time to make Peking duck with crispy skin. Upon arrival for my order, it was sad to see there were very few customers. I tipped them the 20%. Yes, you read right, 20% for my take out order because I support small businesses. Because of this, they gave me an order of hot and sour soup for free. When we had our meal, I accompanied it with my homemade Gandule rice (yes a cross cushion dinner). The duck was well cooked, not greasy, but lacked seasoning on its own. It needed help with the accompanying sauces and freshly sliced green onions, hence my four star review. It was the duck that I had very high hopes for. Next time I will try their duck noodle soup as this is my favorite. I hope they don't disappoint. I usually frequent HK BBQ in Riverside, but only went there while I was attending college. I now need to find a place that can recreate that experience. The duck came with a small bag of shrimp chips. We ate it with the steamed buns with hoisin sauce and sweet and sour sauce. The greens with oyster sauce were well cooked and flavorful. I ordered a combination chow mein- where I asked if the combination chow mein was chicken, shrimp and beef. It's been SO long since I've come to this restaurant. I wanted to try it again because I start getting tired of the same flavors from my usual Westside and South Bay Chinese restaurants that I frequent and order from. The lunch specials are definitely worth it. They give good-sized portions along with white rice and even egg flower soup to go. Many restaurants don't give you soup if you are ordering take-out. They even give you a small container of spiced peanuts which is a nice touch. The sweet and sour chicken, broccoli beef, chicken with pan fried noodles, and salt and pepper pork chops were all very tasty and attractive and worth ordering again.
