Tasting Notes is more than just a Korean coffee shop. It has a full lunch and dinner menu offering fried chicken, sandwiches, wraps, pasta, rice bowls, fries, shaved ice, pastries, and more. The ambiance is cozy and chic with ample seating and good lighting. I came by to get a pick-me-up drink. I ordered the Strawberry Matcha Latte ($8). It was okay, nothing special. I finished it in a couple of gulps. I like my matcha STRONG and this was on the weaker side. The strawberry puree at the bottom was very sweet and overpowering. Felt like I was just drinking strawberry jam. There's a couple of things on their menu I would like to try, but it's hard for me to justify their steep prices. $18 for 8 pieces of wings, $12 for a bacon/egg/cheese, $18 for a sandwich, $20 for a rice bowl? With prices like that, I'm going to expect to be full for at least half of the day. It doesn't help that I live near Fort Lee and can get my fix of Korean chicken for a lower price. But maybe I'll shoot my shot one day and try it out.

Very pleasantly surprised by this little cafe. Stopped by on a whim and decided to try a variety of items like the Einspanner, grilled chicken wrap, fried chicken wings, and raspberry cronut. Einspanner: cream on too was delicious but a bit tooooo sweet and not enough coffee to balance out that sweetness. It was a bit overpowering. and $8 for such a small amount too. Grilled chicken wrap: perfectly balanced between chicken and veg, was happy with the amount of protein inside. Felt clean and healthy. Fried Chicken Wings: Super super crispy and the korean sweet spicy sauce on the side had the right amount of heat. Was surprised at how good the wings were. Raspberry Cronut: a must try, was flaky, crispy, sweet, and indulgent. The perfect sweet treat when drinking coffee. The other items im dying to try is their rose pasta, shrimp burger, and hot honey chicken & waffle. We had the greatest service by David who was very sweet and welcoming. We didn't feel rushed and he provided great guidance on what to get.

My husband suggested this place after we picked out our christmas tree. I was intrigued by the 'coffee and chicken' vibe. The inside was super cute with a few tables and a bigger table off to the side where some younger girls were hanging out. My husband got a large black coffee and the Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich and I got a small coffee with oat milk and the Fruit and Croffle. Coffee was good, nothing special, I would probably opt for a fancier drink next time to get the full experience. My husband's sandwich was stacked high and has so many different flavors with the crispiness of the chicken, sweetness of the honey and a little kick from the pepper jack cheese all on a nice brioche bun. My croffle (croissant and waffle combo) was crispy on the outside and light and layery on the inside. It came topped with some fresh bananas, strawberries and blueberries with fresh whipped cream on top. I thought it was so yummy!! Overall, we enjoyed our food and the experience, would definitely come back!

Cute interior with beautiful natural lighting and delicious drinks and treats! I enjoyed the Matcha Strawberry Latte - a very sweet yet refreshing treat - which paired greatly with the glazed croissant donut. Can't wait to come back and try their other matcha drinks and of course, their chicken!

I had to come back a second time here. Great place to grab coffee, snacks and lunch/dinner. Korean cafe offering great house coffee (if you like Gregory's house blend, you'll like it). I had their kfc combo the first time I went and it was good. Very crispy and seasoned well (not salty at all). They even give you a disposable glove with a small pail to drop your bones on. Service was friendly and efficient. Nice decor and clean. Check out Tasting Notes for both sweet and savory cravings. And remember to try their house coffee! It very good.

A quaint little cafe that offers coffees, teas, sandwiches, wraps, fried chicken, pasta, and others. I came here with my wife and ordered a matcha latte, matcha cappuccino, chicken and waffle, and the garlic parsley fries. Everything was delicious, but the standout was the chicken and waffle. The chicken was tender and succulent, and the waffle was light and fluffy. All in all it was a great experience and I will definitely return to try the other menu items.

Super cute cafe/restaurant; it's clean and nicely decorated. Food was good, staff is friendly.

This was my first visit here and it did not disappoint! I had a hard time deciding what I wanted but was very happy with the crispy chicken over rice. My bf got the wings combo (one drumstick and some wings with waffle fries) We were told it would take about 15-20 mins and it was worth the wait. The place is casual, you order at the counter. I had to get a apple pie donut to go. Parking lot is small and is shared with other businesses. Can't wait to go back and get the chicken and waffles :)

Nice new coffee shop addition to the town. Their menu is vast with drinks and food. I never tried their fried chicken but it's suppose to be a main seller here. They sell cronuts, their cinnamon sugar one was delicious and large in size. The prices are a little high for what you get but the ample seating makes this place a good option for meeting up with peers. Cons for me is minimal front parking (potential rear parking) and since they cook/fry some of their food, the cafe can leave you smelling like fried food. Overall nice place.

Nice ambiance and great fried chicken dishes! Wife enjoyed her chicken and waffle and my chicken sandwich had the lightly fried chicken fillet that was literally twice the size of the bun (see pic)! Okay, the chicken was a bit on the dry side which keeps this from being a 5-star, but it was tasty. My colleagues loved the Galbi wrap and chicken wrap as well. It was pretty happening on a Friday afternoon which is always a good sign. Will definitely be back!

Tasting notes gets the coffee right consistently. Delicious cortados with steamed to perfection oat milk - & you can add your own cinnamon?! - count me in. Golden hour hits around 4:45/5 and it's the perfect spot for writing and enjoying a mid day warm cup of coffee with a sweet treat. (from my own personal experience) They also serve chicken, french fries, pasta, wraps and rice bowls. They will not disappoint -- stop in when you're in town, for sure. Drive slow to be sure not to miss it!

Got lunch for 12 at the newest coffee shop in town! Interesting food & drink offerings.Pleasant service with tasty food made with quality ingredients. Prices are on the higher end, but you get good and freshly prepared food made in a kitchen that cares! My $15.75 chicken sandwich was pricey, but it was BIG, tasty, put together well, and served with crispy fries! I look forward to going back!

Had an early Valentine's Day dinner with the wife the day before Valentine's Day. Brasserie Memere…read moreis an upscale French restaurant located in the Target plaza of Closter. The lighting is dim, the ambiance is intimate, and it looks romantic. I had made reservations so we were seated immediately. It's funny to note that the place settings were placed next to each other instead of across from each other at a four person table. We usually prefer to face each other, but when it's Valentine's day why not be cute? We ordered a few drinks during our dinner, the Sugar Plum Fairy, Memere 75, Avion en papier. My favorite was definitely the Avion en papier which had a slightly sweet, slightly bitter, citrusy taste. They had a pre fixe menu for Valentine's Day which unfortunately did not have the steak tartare i was interested in trying. But for $88, you get 3 courses: an appetizer, entree, and dessert. For our appetizers, we got the TARTARE DE THON (tuna tartare) and COCKTAIL DE CREVETTES GEANTES (shirmp cocktail). Between the two, i preferred the tuna tartare. The shrimp cocktail was good, but the only thing really special about it was the massive size of the shrimp and the freshly grated horseradish in the cocktail sauce. For our entrees, we got the CASSOULET DE CANARD and FILET MIGNON. The extremely tender duck leg confit was served with pancetta, white beans, toulouse sausage, and foie gras breadcrumb. It was rich, savory, fatty, and filling. All great words to describe food. The duck leg confit reminded me a little bit of a smoked turkey leg with the red coloring and shreddable texture. The filet mignon was served with pomme purée, wild mushrooms, and a bordelaise sauce. The filet was cooked medium rare as requested, but a bit under salted. The pomme purée aka mashed potatoes tasted like it was 50% butter so it was obviously delicious. Dessert was good, but my least favorite part of the meal. We got the TAHITIAN VANILLA CRÈME BRÛLÉE and the VALRHONA CHOCOLAT POT AU CRÈME. Both were very sweet. The brûlée crust did not shatter well, but it otherwise had a nice creamy texture. The chocolate pot was covered in flaky feuilletine which gave a nice contrast to the creamy chocolate, but my wife found the brandied cherries overpowering. The cherries made me think of German chocolate cake. Service was excellent. Staff was quick to refill water and checked on us constantly. Pace of the meal was relaxed and I'd even say they were slow to bring us the check since we had been dining for over 2 hours. My wife wants me to bring her back for their bottomless brunch on a Sunday so I will eventually be back.

You seat yourselves- either inside or outside. Our burgers and fries were great, seasoned well and cooked to our desired temp. Fries were generous and are served thin. We had the aoli sauce. I ordered the tuna salad sandwich that came with chips. Hearty bread, well seasoned and a generous portion of the tuna salad. My husband had the cubed steaks and brussel sprouts as his side. Steaks were cooked to desired temp and the sprouts were grilled. We were a party of 13 and we found a table that sat us comfortably. We didn't feel rush. The vibe was friendly. Would recommend !

I really wanted to enjoy the place, as I've had other friends frequent it. From the inception of the restaurant, they've had "pastrami" as the highlight. I really wanted that. They didn't have it. I told them the rest of my family's order and to come back afterwards so I can find something else. Decided on some chili as it was a cold day. They didn't have that either. I gave up and just didn't order anything for myself. Every thing came out bland. We didn't ask for no salt or lower sodium. Either way the cute little salt shaker visited a lot. At the price point that they have, I really was expecting something. The disco fries were scarce. I can basically count how many there were. As well as not knowing what kind of gravy it included on the side. The chicken tenders were bland, but at least the chicken was tender and the coating was crispy. Strawberry pancakes were fluffy and good on the first bite, but if left cold, it just became hard. The strawberry butter was a really nice touch and I enjoyed it. Too much strawberry for me, but will not lower the score for that. That's just my preference of taste. The mac and cheese was soupy and not thick, and again no seasoning. Cheeseburger was okay, didn't wow us. Also could not figure out if it was house made or not. It was lean, somewhat juicy, but it was a little tough. Wasn't horrible. What I found interesting was with the amount of fries that came with our order, they all came out differently. The disco fries were crispy, fries that came with the mac and cheese were over done, and the cheeseburger fries were a mixture of crispy, soggy and overdone. But one commonality with all the fries was how bland it was. Anyway, between the pricing and not having two things that I ordered, was just enough to put me in a sour mood.

The homerun of a sandwich is the Bun Jovi which is a honey Sriracha chicken schnitzel slathered with swiss cheese, pickles, pastrami, and coleslaw. And this dream of a sandwich delivers. The blue seating booths make the diner fun , with high backs they provide comfort and some privacy to your conversations. Wisely recognized as America's oldest tavern with its stone facade, the Old '76 House, located on Main Street in Tappan, has been welcoming guests and was restored to its pristine condition by the Norden family. Step inside, and nearly every corner tells a story that served as a meeting place for local patriots during the American Revolutionary War. It also welcomed General George Washington for dining on occasion. He once received plans at the establishment that exposed Benedict Arnold as a traitor--prompting a dramatic reaction still talked about today. Upon entering without a reservation today for lunch, my partner and I were greeted by the host and got a cozy table by the fireplace with original Delft tiles in the Tap Room. The interior features rustic beamed ceilings, four fireplaces, vintage portraits, historical certificates and documents, as well as costumes and artifacts where patrons were able to walk around and marvel at them. The menu reflects the tavern's heritage, with dishes inspired by early American cuisine. We decided on the Thanksgiving Sandwich accompanied with fries and the Traditional American Meatloaf over Mashed Potatoes and Steamed Vegetables.
