This Tastea location was my go-to!! But I'm pretty sure they changed their matcha in their Kryptenite drink. I requested a worker to remake it, thinking it had no sugar.. but still tasted the same so I definitely think it's a new recipe. The new Kryptenite drink is more bitter and less creamy, the original one is so much better so that's really disappointing that they're changing it. And I'm not sure if they're changing the recipe for the Strawberry Sensation too, but it's more creamy and less sour than I remember it to be? Also really disappointing. Waited about 25 minutes for a large watered-down milk tea without the tea, and that was only after I had to go up to the window and ask for the drink. My friends & i have noticed that half the time you order chicken, they give you these small little fried pieces with nothing in them. These pieces could add up to a few more nuggets & i know that sounds kinda ridiculous, but the box is basically filled half with these fried pieces & half with actual chicken. The peach and strawberry mesh so well in the drink. The fruit chunks are very pleasant along w/ the boba. I've also tried their fries and got it at a 2 spice level. I thought they were good but it really seemed like it was a lot more spice than it should be for just a level 2. It was a bit too spicy and you can tell that some pieces of the fries had a lot more of the spice so it wasn't evenly spread out. Their Peach Me Sweet Tea stole my heart and is the reason I keep coming back for more! Drinks I've Tried: 1. Peach Me - 5/5 - Perfect amount of sweetness with chunks of peaches inside. Can't beat real fruit chunks. Very refreshing and haven't found anything comparable to this drink. 2. Lychee Peachee - 5/5 - Also a perfect amount of sweetness with chunks of lychee. Depends on my mood, but I mostly go for Peach Me. 3. Sea Salt Jasmine Tea (NEW) - 5/5 - I must admit, they made this drink better than the famous 85 Degrees Bakery! The drink at Tastea is more expensive than 85 Degrees, but the ice to tea and sea salt ratio is on point here! 85 Degrees adds too much ice, even when you ask for less ice, which doesn't justify for the $3 drink you get. I love sea salt and Tastea done it right! For only $3.25!! 4. All Nighter (NEW) - 4.5/5 - I'm not a huge coffee drinker, but this one is perfect! Just the right amount of sweetness from the condensed milk. It would have been better without the sea salt though. Coffee is bitter, and combined with sea salt just made it taste funky. I have yet to try a boba tea here, but I am hooked on their Taiwanese popcorn chicken which they call "Karate Chicken". It's the freshest I've had. Juicy, flavorful, just enough crunch and never greasy, the right amount of residue oil, and the powdered spices on top absorb fully, never gritty or grainy (which I've found elsewhere). Plus they include fresh basil leaves unlike other places around. And portion is big for only $5.50. Service here is usually friendly and helpful. Tables could be wiped more often. ONLY PROBLEM, AND IT'S A BIG ONE...Make more dipping sauces please. Ketchup on popcorn chicken?! Why even offer that? Make a garlic aioli and/or a chipotle aioli. This particular location is always bustling with business but they are very efficient about getting orders out without having too long of a wait. Today I tried their Muddy Melon drink. Its an organic black tea topped with fresh watermelon juice. Had some grass jelly add on. It was delightfully refreshing, with little chucks of watermelon in each sip. I always pick up some of the Karate Chicken and an order of their Buttload'a Fries. The food lives up to their names. They give you a choice of how spicy you want your chicken and their fries come in a decent size. If you're feelimg snacky, it will definitely do a little more than just hold you over.
