My boyfriend and his friend went to grab some boba at this location and due to COVID-19 they are only accepting app ordering. He arrived at 8:10pm and was told to do it online before 8:30 in order to receive their drinks(they should really have a sign out to inform customers) by 8:20 he was about to finish the payment & the app closed orders for the night. Another customer (who was also waiting) went to the door and said that their location was no longer accepting orders... the employee responded with "I have no control over the online orders" Why would this employee advise customers to order online when knowing their app would no longer accept any orders by 8:20pm?...poor communication skills in their part. If you're a fruity tea type of person, this place is for you! At boba places I typically go for milk teas, but when I am craving someone lighter and refreshing, this is the spot. They are known for their black teas mixed with chopped fruit. I tend to crave these drinks in the hot summer! My favorite drink is the Tootea Fruitea with 50% sugar. I always get the 32oz for $6. You'd think a 32oz drink is too massively big for one person, but I never fail to finish it! It's that light, addicting and refreshing! Surprisingly, I have never tried the boba topping here. The chopped up fruit that fills the bottom 1/4 of the drink is already enough to keep my mouth busy. Also, this is my moms favorite boba spot. I'm actually pretty glad they opened a tastea in the 626 because now I don't need to drive all the way to Rowland for some. To be honest I totally understand if it's busy af since it just opened and I'm pretty sure the staff were still training so I ain't complaining. The one thing I noticed was that with my rewards card at tastea in Rowland they charge a flat rate for the jug at 27.95 pretty much with no tax. Over here it came out to be $30+ with tax so I'm assuming maybe they don't give discounts for rewards card here or the pos machine got messed up? I work in the food industry so I know how it feels to work under busy stressful situations but the one thing that pissed me the f*** off was we ordered a gallon jug of peach me sweet tea and asked if they had cups for it but the girl said It would be a 10 cent charge for each cup? Uhm okay? we just spent $30 for a jug and now you wanna charge us for the cups? We literally just wanted water cups but okay who gives a f*** we'll pay for it. So we give the money to the girl at the drinks pick up area and this pretty much set us off... She told us we had to wait in line and pay in the front, and at this point IM LIKE WTF... why can't I just give you the money right now, you give us the cups and you can add it into the pos system later? It didn't make any fucken sense. To top it off when we paid for the cups it ended up being 25 cents each + tax which ended up being $1.77. As we paid we were waiting for the cashier dude to give us cups but instead he gave us a ticket and said we had to wait..NOW THIS F***** PUT ME ON THE EDGE, I could feel My face getting red and my blood boil. Dude why can't you just give us the cups? Instead you make us fucken wait in line again while the baristas are busting their asses off making all the drinks you lazy fuck. I was literally about to flip my s***. I wanted to smack the s*** out of those whack ass workers. The funny thing all this shit could've been avoided if they just gave us our cups once we got our jug order. I would've overlooked the rewards card, waiting 30 mins for a jug, and paying for fucken cups even though we bought a jug. I'm usually really patient too but god dam whosever managing this tastea needs to find ways to fix situations like these. I usually don't complain on yelp for drinks, boba, fast food chains etc either but this shit was really something else. So freaking glad Tastea is making it's way into LA! I used to live in the OC and I would get Tastea very often. I was stoked to see they were opening this location. Although I live in the San Fernando valley, I make it out to San Gabriel pretty often to get Asian food. This will definitely be a stop for me to get boba. We went on a Saturday night around 11pm and it was packed. Definitely popular. I definitely feel like prices are a little higher but since moving to LA, I don't know the every day prices for the drinks anymore. It definitely feels like a lot thought. Summary: Service was great, the drink I tried was okay. Drink: I ordered what was at the time popular which I believe was their passionfruit and strawberry combination drink. A Tastea finally opened up in Alhambra. I've always lived relatively close to one. I thought the drinks are pretty good here but I already have my favorite boba shops. However, my friend introduced me to The Watermelon Heaven drink. I fell in love at first sip. I love that it does not taste artificially sweetened but I saw them add sugar and corn syrup. At least it doesn't taste like it. You don't need to add anything in the drink because it comes with watermelon bits. Honestly, I only go here for the watermelon heaven. I like that i can customize to 25% sweet, little ice and there's a choice of honey or original boba. Since it's Christmas time, the bobas are red and green. The tea is perfectly done to our request. YAY! I'm so glad that they finally opened up a Tastea in my area! I don't have to drive all the way to Rowland Heights anymore. The place is located in a very big plaza towards the back. There is plenty of parking all around and the parking spaces are spacious. The menu is basically the same and the drinks are as well. I finally got the try the fried shrimp and it was good! The ONLY thing I have to complain is that their medium spicy wasn't even medium it was BEYOND spicy... I usually eat spicy foods but oh heavens it was SPICY. But aside from that, the staff is very friendly! I was wondering what the muddly melon was and the staff explained that it was fresh watermelon and orange juice with no additional sugar which completely sold me. I am so so so so happy that they finally came to Alhambra! Whenever I would visit OC I would always buy 2 drinks. One to drink there and one for later :D They're different from other tea places because they add cut up fruit in their drinks! Love this! I try not to get boba in my drinks, but I love having something to chew on while I'm drinking the tea and the fruit really makes up for it! They just opened so I do think they're still learning and getting the hang of it. I ordered less ice in my drink but my drink wasn't made that way. Located in the 99 Ranch Market plaza, it's super convenient and I'm grateful that I no longer have to drive to Rowland for my Tastea fix. It was pretty busy, but the service was quick and friendly. I got a 20 oz Peach Me Sweetea with boba, and it came out to a little over $5. The drink itself was still consistent with other locations. I'm so glad they opened one in my area. I always either get the matcha thai tea or their taro milk tea. Their taro milk tea taste like ice cream- yum! I am also a big fan of their popcorn chicken and their fries. It's crunchy, seasoned well, and portioned for 2 people to share... unless you're hungry because I'll admit..I could finish one for myself if I'm hungry. I love the little pieces of crunchy bits the popcorn chicken leaves behind on the bottom of the container. Service is great! The people working behind the counter are very nice and personable. The reason why I'm marking a star off is because sometimes their drinks aren't consistent. Sometimes I'll have a drink that's perfectly made whereas I'll get a drink that's not as good. What's the hype? I'm literally sitting in the shop right now starting to write this review. I ordered Jasmine green tea with crystal boba & Bootea Shaker with honey boba. When the cashier repeat my order "green tea with crystal boba", I asked does the green tea have jasmine flavor? Cashier reply yes. Well, to my disappointment the so call jasmine green tea taste like lipton tea to me. Why would you name it jasmine if there's no jasmine scent. The honey boba that I order with the Bootea Shaker look green and there wasn't that much boba. Note, they charge additional $0.65 for boba and $0.85 for crystal boba. Both drink came out to be almost $13. Like the other reviewers mentioned, the price here is higher than the typically boba shop. I came here knowing that, but with high price I expect high quality drink as well. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. :( read more

Tastea never disappoints! I'm so glad that they opened one in Alhambra so I don't have to make that trip to Rowland Heights whenever I get a Tastea craving. Tastea is known for their fruit teas. I always get their Peach Me Sweet Tea with honey boba at 25% sweetness. Their drinks tend to run on the sweet side so I would def consider going a smaller percentage for their sweetness. One other thing to have to get while here is their buttload of fries. Oh lemme tell you, it really is a buttload of fries!! They always fill to the top and the portion is so big that it's worth sharing. Their fries are different from other places because they have their own special blend of spices/seasonings that they sprinkle on them. Don't forgot to download their app for their rewards program! I've also tried their Avocado Avalanche with honey boba, which has a creamy and smooth avocado flavor. If you like avocado smoothies, this is definitely a drink to try. Their drinks, however, are definitely on the more pricier side compared to other boba places in the area. I've also tried their fries and the popcorn chicken-the fries personally are not my favorite and kind of get soggy towards the bottom, but the popcorn chicken is delicious! Long wait time (20-25 min), drink came out same time as three other drinks that were ordered about 10 min after mine. What kind of service is that? I even tipped beforehand (which I highly regret.) 2 people were working and there were only 2 other drinks to be made in front of mine. Keep in mind it wasn't that busy either. This is definitely the place if you're craving for something refreshing! I got their peach me sweetea and I have tried their buttload'a fries and karate chicken. The drink was super refreshing and didn't feel like the fruits were old. Their buttload'a fries comes in huge proportions! It is definitely great for sharing with friends. The karate chicken's proportion wasn't as much as the fries, but there is still a good amount. I also love that drinks here come in various sizes. It even comes in gallons! The boba here is quite interesting as it is green! Plus, it's super chewy! The interior is generally clean and is a great place for a hangout. The tables are quite limited, but I never had trouble getting a table whenever I was there. The customer service is great here. Drove 30 minutes to this location since it's the closest to us, and ordered a few minutes before noon. Yelp order was confirmed on the app and we walked to pickup window once Yelp said it was ready. At the window they said our order wasn't ready, told to wait a few minutes while he checked. Long story short, they hadn't prepared the order because they didn't receive it. Supervisor got involved and I verified that I ordered (at this point) 45 minutes ago from the correct location, then we're told again to wait a few minutes. If managers read reviews here, I understand that things get hectic during events and it's hard to keep track of every order. I've worked at boba shops before and know that grubhub machines get annoying. I know it's easy to silence it to confirm without actually checking, and I even understand accidentally double tapping to confirm order is ready. What really sucked was that we ended up waiting for an hour with zero follow up in the sun. Shoutout to the server who apologized like twenty times, appreciate the effort but that's your supervisor's job at that point. Wow! This is one of my favorite boba places to go to at the moment. I have been a constant customer at this tastea for quite a while now and I decided, why not let my first review be my favorite boba place LOL. The first time I came here I got the sunset peach with honey boba. It is made up of raspberry black tea, peach, and bits of mango pieces. The drink is sweet and refreshing and the honey boba and bits were delicious. The honey boba having a soft but chewy consistency. The next few times I got the Krypteanite. This is a matcha green tea blended into a smoothie. This drink is amazing if you love matcha. I get this drink all the time now paired with their honey boba.
