Been coming here since soft opening but after receiving awesome customer service, I'm giving this place 5/5 for THE GUY ON SHIFT (sorry we didn't get to catch your name!) Order: jasmine milk tea with boba (left), my personal fave lychee peachy with boba (right), and popcorn chicken. After watching Crazy Rich Asians at the theatre down the street, my group came here for some snacks and boba on a Sunday around 3pm. Since we were all a bit snacky and *One in particular was hangry after the movie, it was a little upsetting to see how small portioned the popcorn chicken came out to be given how much we pay ~$5-6 (about half of the box & less than what we usually get at Rowland location). Although it was unintentional, her response about the portion to the guy on shift was straightforward with a bit of tude (mainly from hunger) when asking if this is all that we get. He seemed confused and nervous - (but srsly, who wouldn't lol) But given this situation, he proceeded with a genuine apology and offer us a new order of popcorn chicken that we can keep. After a couple of minutes, we received an almost full amount and got to keep the first box as well. He asked if this box was okay with us- showing us the portion before handing it over. Keep in mind the workers here seem to consist of high schoolers and first year college students, I thought their customer service was very impressive seeing how the situation was well handled. Fast service and turn around time for coming in at 8pm - but I think it's because they just opened and it hasn't blown up yet. I may also add that it's a weekday, so that might have been a factor? May vary on weekends and when they start to get more clientele. My cashier Molly was very nice and she even had a great drink recommendation for me (which I'll definitely try next time) she kept the line moving but was also personable and took her time. They have freshly squeezed orange juice here!! So awesome since I only get that at Jamba Juice, but it looks like they have the same machine - so I hope they don't disappoint when I order it next time. It's so nice to have a Tastea more local to me so I don't have to drive all the way to Rowland Heights or OC area. I ordered my usual - 32 oz watermelon heaven and they made it perfect here! I definitely recommend adding some crystal boba, more watermelon chunks or boba. I also ordered a great white which is a peach tea. I got it 75% sweetness with crystal boba. A must try! The boba here is SO GOOD. Chewy & soft..mmm delightful. They have really great fruit teas and put little bits of fruit in it as a topping which is really nice and not a lot of places do this. The milk teas are good too and I love that the boba is GREEN!! 1st visit - Amazing Strawburst (32 oz.) Tastes amazing (see what I did there) as always. Perfect for the summer! 2nd visit - Thai Tea, Matcha Thai Milk Tea, & The Unknown (all 3 drinks 50% ice, 32 oz.) Thai Tea wasn't as sweet as I had expected, but the tea flavor really comes through. I personally would prefer it just slightly sweeter. For the Matcha Thai Tea, I appreciate the balance of matcha and thai tea together. Not one overpowers the power. The Unknown - not too sweet & very refreshing. Just a note while on my 2nd visit, I got caught off guard when the person passing out the drinks literally just said "less ice, less product." They were referring to the Thai Tea, which I saw was only filled up about 75% of the cup. However, my other 2 drinks were also less ice and filled all the way up. If I was getting less product because I'm getting less, I'd would at least like to know earlier. Also, one of the lids on the drinks wasn't fitted all the way when I lifted the cup-holder. A tiny bit had spilled out, but it would have been much worse if I didn't notice sooner. Overall, I think the drinks are great, but service has a few kinks here and there. read more

Went to this location on 1/25 between 4:30-5:30pm and stood in front of the register waiting for someone to take our order. Their supervisor, a male with his ears pierced and wearing a blue shirt, came out to the register and just stared at us. As we stared back, he still did not acknowledge us. Not a single "hi" or a "someone will be right with you" just empty stares... in the end one of the other team members came to help us out. Besides the terrible service from their supervisor, we ordered the popcorn chicken and it was burnt and stuck together, it wasn't even cut. The sauce they gave us wasn't even filled half way... we got 2 sauce cups...not filled... they could have saved the extra cup and just gave us one. Here are some pics for you. I was very disappointed with the customer service and DO NOT recommend this place to anyone! I totally understand the COVID-19 and all that it entails, but I went in wearing a mask and social distancing,but the woman behind the counter told me they are not taking walk-in orders, but to order online and the website is outside on the door. The website was NOT on the door but I went online to find it anyway, after much frustration I realized it's called "gotastea.com"!!! Literally the easiest way to order! It can save your card info so you don't have to re-enter it every time which is so useful when you're in a pinch or just lazy! I've loved this place for years now and have had some of the best milk teas in the area. However this business has been lying to customers about their drinks. I ordered a matcha milk tea and was given a Jasmine milk tea instead. There was no trace of matcha in the drink. I thought my drink was switched up and it was an honest mistake. Upon calling the store and driving back again to get a replacement, I was given the same drink as before that had no matcha in it. I'm so confused why you would market the drink as matcha when clearly all you can taste is Jasmine? Or did the store make the same drink wrong twice? Did you think I wouldn't know the difference in taste just because they're both green drinks? I think supply chain issues has caused this place to falsely market drinks as available without removing being them from their menu and make whatever is available and and serve it to customers. read more

For the past few weeks i've been trying to order from their app but before going to the payment option, I always get a notice stating they can't accept my order yet cus of the high volume of orders. I decided to try again today and the same thing happened once again but this time I decided to change the pick up time option and it finally worked! It sucks how they don't accept phone orders though. From my observation, most of us had to stick our heads in the door and yell our name out, while the workers are at the back counters making orders. To be honest, I feel like they're understaffed due to the pandemic but I wish they were more organized with the pick up orders. Having two people working isn't enough in my opinion. They should of at least had one more person handing out orders by the door, making more convenient for us customers and also for the workers. As I was leaving I noticed about 3 groups waiting at the door not knowing that the only way to order is through the app, I felt bad for them waiting so I ended up telling them myself. drinks were super good! I really appreciate the options that they have. Bought a bunch for my family because it is Mothers Day today. Worth the drive from Glendale. I currently reside in Alhambra and this is my go to place. Been here a bunch of times and it doesn't disappoint. The workers are nice and super friendly and professional. The nice thing about this place is the variety of sizes you can purchase. The snacks are solid as well. Gotta get the fries and popcorn chicken. I always order the usual 25% sweet, less ice Bootea Shaker but received a drink that was filled halfway with ice and sweeter than usual. I also have to comment on the customer service today--usually my interactions are pleasant with the employees, but this one female employee gave me unprovoked attitude today--also the same employee who made the drink. I then asked for a larger straw, to which she rolled her eyes at me and commented with a snarky tone. I usually love this location but had a very unpleasant experience today. My husband loves the Peach Me Tea and turned me onto it too but this location is disappointing every time we go. They rarely have the drinks ready when they're supposed to be ready, and to add insult to injury, they've either completely left out all the fruit or they give a tiny amount. So I normally LOVE Tastea. I love it because they have amazing tasting and unique drinks, good service, and cute names for each drink. This was the first time I've been to this alhambra branch, and I was expecting it to be as good as the other ones I've been to. I placed a takeout order of thai milk tea, 2 large popcorn chickens, and a strawberry drink that I cant remember the name of. I walk in for my pickup, no "hello", which is weird, but fine. I just assumed they were really busy. The female worker just blankly stares so I tell her I'm here for a pickup. She asks to wait 5more min so I waited outside. My name is called and I pick up my order and I'm thinking "yay! Time to enjoy!" I get home. Drinks were pretty delicious so I was happy with that BUT the popcorn chicken.... I open the box (supposedly large) and honestly the size of the chickens were DINKY. Um... is it popcorn chicken or seasoned panko crumbs that I ordered? You may be able to see in the pictures I've posted, that u have maybe like a few decently sized chicken pieces and the rest are just the fried coating.... C'mon people. Is this something you want for your customers? Is this even something you want for yourself? And this landed 2 stars. I'm not one to write negative reviews, but today is an exception. I have always loved Tastea but my experience at the Alhambra location today was terrible. I ordered about an hour in advance because of the high volume capacity for their online ordering system which also blows ass. I set my pick up time for 2:45 p.m. I got there a few minutes early and checked in with the staff member and he told me that it would be ready in a couple of minutes as they were working on my order. 30 minutes later and still nothing. As I was waiting outside I saw multiple drinks that were sitting and waiting to be picked up on the table yet the worker was just standing there and not calling out any names. I had to once again go inside and ask on an order update and found that my order had been sitting on the table for probably a good 5-10 minutes. Since it's pretty hot outside and I don't live super close I wanted to make sure my drinks were still cold by the time I got home. I asked for a small cup of ice to which the staff member reluctantly said "sure..." And the guy behind the bar, who I believe was named Kenneth snidely asked his coworker why I needed a cup of ice and told him to charge me $0.50 cents. It's just a small cup of ice dude, it's not that serious. You probably also should not be shading customers right in front of them where they can hear you. Honestly, if the drinks were ready on time I probably would've just let the comment slip and been on my way, but already having been frustrated with having to wait 30 min past my pick up time in the heat, there were no apologies for the extended wait time and I was greeted with unprofessionalism and rude service. Please put your staff in check, Tastea. Also, what is the point of an online system with a specific pickup time when you can't even get that done? It only ever seems to be at this location too, so if you want Tastea just go to another location. read more

Disappointed with the quality of drinks we received today. My friends and I ordered 3 drinks, and we all had the consensus that all 3 drinks lacked tea and over diluted with creamer. This is my favorite boba place! Parking: Lot Interior: I study here from time to time but I usually bring headphones because I can become super noisy during their rush hours. Customer service: The employees here are always nice and helpful!! Drinks: My go-to drink is the peach me sweet tea+ basil seeds & less sugar. It's super refreshing and comes with fruits bits in it. My drink literally tastes like sink water. I normally like to come to tastea and it's always my to go spot when I want something fruity. So disappointed today. First, my coworker tried to call and ask if we can place a phone order (they don't) but after explaining they just hung up. We weren't even done talking. Second, I know people just swipe now and don't usually use cash but I had cash and I wanted to use it. My coworker was like it's ok I have card . The cashier right away went I'll take the card it'll make it easier for me. ( Was she worried about the cash because she didn't know how to count money or something? Before this location opened, I used to drive all the way to Rowland Heights to get my Tastea fix. I was glad this location opened as it brings it closer to where I live. The drinks here are great, it may be a bit pricey but thats what happens when you're paying for real flavors inside your drinks, not syrups like Sharetea or Boba Avenue tier boba shops. As soon as you walk inside, it smells fresh, and it feels like you're walking inside a fruit market. Customer service is great and food is decent at this location. Food/Drinks- 4/5 The drinks are actually 5/5! What brings down this score is the quality of food. I usually get the karate chicken, and it's really inconsistent. Sometimes its overcooked to where it can even be considered burnt, and I never had this issue at the Rowland location. On the bright side, drinks are great and as good as the Rowland one. Price- 3/5 Veryyyy pricey. But you pay for quality so the price is (kind of?) justifiable. Customer Service- 5/5 Customer service is always awesome here! Never had any issues. Overall- 4/5 All my concerns were listen above, with one final concern being their loyalty program. You have to download an app and the cards they used to give are no no's now. It just sucks because phone number system/card system seems so much more convenient than having to download an app. Oh well, minor complaint but this place is great anyways! read more

One of the few boba places in the 626 that open before noon on a weekday! Came here after a morning work meeting in Monterey Park to pick up drinks for coworkers. I ordered a partea jug of thai tea for $30 with boba on the side for $6 for about 12 people. I was aware that orders could be placed online but wasn't in a hurry so I went in to place the order. Figured it would be a bit of a wait as the customer flow steadily increased but I'm pretty sure I waited under 10 minutes. I was downloading their app to collect rewards when the employee (possibly the manager) who took my order randomly gave me a small freshly blended strawberry banana smoothie. He was met by my super confused face until he mentioned it was something for me to sip on as I waited. He also offered to help me carry things to my car but ya girl is strong and independent and didn't need no help, haha. I'm not one to complain but I was really disappointed today. I ordered a great white with original boba at this location and when I got home, I realized my boba was basically inedible because it was one giant ball of boba at the bottom of the cup. I'm not sure how the workers missed that when scooping it into my drink, but this isn't the first time Alhambra has disappointed me. I tried sucking up the boba to see if I could break it apart (which is why half the drink is gone), but it was rock hard. I did try...He claims that since I messaged through Yelp and I didn't contact the store yesterday, he can't refund me because corporate now has to take care of it. What bad customer service.
