Surprised this place is not rated higher but I will say there is a lot of extra unused space which creates a loud atmosphere when the place is crowded. And probably why some of their items are pricier than normal. Their location is pretty popular as well so it makes parking challenging, but they do have a lot in the back that validates. That being said my family and I enjoyed our selections and would definitely go back. My husband ordered the Freemason and appreciated that the chicken salad was not overly dressed with mayonnaise. However, he loves his condiments so he would probably order a side of Italian dressing with his lol. I got the farm stand grain bowl, which I thought was fantastic but the roasted chicken I added to it was disappointing. I think because it was roasted, but then refrigerated it got a gamey chicken aftertaste, which kind of messed with the flavors of the salad. It was the first time I've never finished the protein in a bowl I've ordered, which felt like a big waste of $ but I really loved everything else in the bowl-could use more grapes though . The goat cheese was a perfect compliment with a creamy flavor that was not too sharp or distracting. I'm not a fan of strong goat cheese. My son really enjoyed The Lynnhaven and only commented that it would be nice if the chicken was sliced a little more proportional to the bread and other toppings.

What is the definition of a restaurant like this one? Is it craft sandwiches? Everything here screams local and fresh. Prices were fair for a small restaurant/grocer. Reminiscent of a place in Charlottesville called Feast. It has a limited menu but everything on it is creative and looks tasty. Would recommend.

I went the other night right before they closed for a quick dinner and glass of wine and it was great! They are open till seven so if you are looking for an earlier dinner this could be a good option! I always love their sandwiches and this time was no different! I got the Northender! Their house wines are great and you can get them by the glass! Going in the evening we beat the crowds that are usually around for lunch!

"Northender" as a wrap.

Overpriced for what you get. My turkey wrap was mostly veggies. Cheese was forgotten. And when you ask for mayo on the side, that means don't put it on the sandwich too!! They also front run all the DoorDash orders, so if you place an order for pickup yourself, be prepared to wait around (15 minutes past pickup time in this case). There are better options nearby.

I've always been a huge fan of taste and go very frequently. This time though, I noticed a funny taste in my northerner sandwich and looked to see rotten avocado! I've never experienced this from TASTE before, usually their quality is outstanding so this really shocked me.

Great choices! Anyone say 'picnic'?

I grew up in Norfolk and Taste Unlimited was our go to for lunch. Here we are YEARS later and Taste never disappoints! The staff suggested the Northender which is honey smoked turkey, hardwood smoked bacon, Havarti, avocado, romaine, tomato, basil mayo on French bread- delicious! Sweet hubby had the Freemason which is a classic chicken salad, hardwood smoked bacon, romaine, tomato on multigrain bread. Oh! We also had Coke in a bottle! So much fun. If you want a great sandwich (or need to cater an event) - give them a call.

This may be a bit overpriced but I am addicted to the salad with peaches mozzarella and prosciutto. Appreciate the outdoor seating. Had that salad twice in 7 days. So yummy and can't get enough.

The beer selection is decent. I had plenty of time to taste some as it took over 45 minutes for one sandwich to be made.

I swear the entire time I was here (~2 hours) the line was extending to the door. It was crazy. After trying my coffee I understood why they're so busy all day. It is my new favorite coffee in Richmond by a long shot. Unfortunately I ended up spilling my coffee on my laptop and am scarred for life and will probably never be back to this location. Obviously this was my fault but still traumatic. Overall, try this place out! It will not disappoint! My absolute favorite coffee in Richmond!

I was a bit disappointed that they only offer whole or oat milk, as I was used to having more milk options (like low fat or nonfat). I can't drink whole milk and I'm not a big fan of oat milk. The barista recommended that I try the oat milk and said if I didn't like the drink, they would make me something else. I asked for light oak milk and hoped for the best. My latte was served in layers, so I got a big blast of oat milk in my first sip, but after I mixed my latte, it tasted so much better. The coconut flavor really came through and offset the oat milk flavor. I was really happy with my drink and with the super helpful barista. I'll for sure be coming back!

The space is incredibly comfortable: leather sofas, a relaxed lounge area, and nice seasonal decor. The Jack‑O‑Latte is pumpkin spice vanilla done right: not syrupy, not overly sweet, just balanced enough that you can still taste the beans, and you want to. The repurposed boxcars give the place character, and the parking lot tells the rest of the story...people genuinely like it here. My breakfast burrito tasted surprisingly gourmet, down to the pickled red onions. Coffee is roasted locally and you can tell. It's across from the Catholic church I accidentally pulled into first. Everyone should try it. They get the fundamentals right: if I order a flavor, I don't want a liquid pastry. I want good coffee that can stand on its own. Brick Road Coffee nails it. Nice job. PS: Thank you again to the kind gal who went out of her way to come tell me I was in the wrong (pick up) line and not in the order here one.

I love the decor, and the seating area feels appropriate for the space. It still has that community, shared vibe that I remember. One of the things I instantly noticed on the menu was their vegan breakfast sandwich with a homemade bean-based sausage patty. I got myself an egg and cheese sandwich on a buttermilk biscuit (delicious, by the way) with pepper jack cheese, veggies (tomato, lettuce, and avocado), and for a dollar extra, one of their vegan breakfast sausage patties. I was immediately impressed by how flavorful the patty was- you get a crispness upon the first bite and then the creaminess of the beans afterwards. It was absolutely incredible in a way I can't even describe. I also got the Thai iced coffee, which tasted as sweet as a typical Thai iced tea, yet in coffee form. I may only be spending a few days in Richmond, but I'm absolutely coming back next time I'm here to try more things. DIVINE! The woman behind the counter was super sweet too.
