Food: We ordered Saag Gosht, Tikka Masala and Garlic Nann. The dished came with rice but we like to dip with nann. Food tasted rich but not overwhelmed by the spices. The dessert nawasi perfectly wrapped up our night. Service: Chef came couple times to check with customers and the owner is extremely friendly and knowledgeable for the menu. Tashan is a great date night place if you like Indian food. The variety of food is diverse and selections are very good. The food is very tasty with an upscale vibe. The service was on point. The waiters and the hosts were very helpful and nice which enhances the upscale experience. We got a lot of food, for appetizers we got the Vada Pav, Katori Chaat, Galouti Kabab, Mulayom Kabab and coconut drink. The quality of food is excellent overall but the mulayom kabab was a tad dry and the knock out dish was Katori chaat. I did not like the drink but my wife enjoyed it. Always have same and it is super sweet. Rasmalai should be called Ras milk as hardly a malai. Overall not sure if worth the price for buffet. Gulabjamun too too sweet. No flavor. I was so excited to try authentic Indian cuisine for the first time and Tashan did not disappoint! Great atmosphere from the moment we walked through the door. Everyone was very welcoming and accommodating. I got the specialty old fashioned that had the coolest presentation in a smoke box. The food was delicious and there was so much of it! We had the prawn and lamb appetizers, and the Cornish hen and cod main dishes with a side of naan and ended the evening with the passion berry dessert. Food was great, this was my second time here. However the attitude of one of the workers when we were about to leave made us feel uncomfortable. We came for the buffet and paid. We were getting ready to leave when someone came over to clean the table, we complimented the food and said it was great, this person responded with "oh it was great but you didn't even finish it?" Extremely unprofessional and I think they need to work on training their staff. My experience with everyone else was fine except this one person. It was my first time at a Indian restaurant, the atmosphere was great, service was great, the owner came out to talk to us, we were there celebrating my son's birthday, both him and my daughter are vegetarian and the other 3 in the party were not , but they explained the menu to us , and we ordered per there suggested choices, I was afraid to try being Italian , no pasta lol .... The food was excellent, but not exceptional. On the same level as the best Indian restaurants in the area. They had a very creative menu. The one thing that bothered me about our experience was that while the flavors and taste were delicious, our food was very bland, it has no spice/heat to it at all. It occurred to us after eating it, that the waiter did not ask us how mild or spicy we wanted our food. We asked the folks at the table next to us who we had been chatting with periodically throughout our meal, if their food was spicy. They said YES! They said the waiter asked how spicy they wanted it and they had a discussion of the heat level. We asked our waiter why he didn't ask us about the heat level and he said dished just come as they are--some are spicy, some are not, and that the waiters don't ask how spicy you want your food. Clearly that was a lie. Nearly every person eating in the restaurant was Indian. I am sure they asked those people about spice level. Also, the chef visited out table at the end of the meal. So we mentioned how the flavors were delicious but there was no spice or heat at all. He just deflected and made jokes and didn't respond to that comment. It was weird. Clearly they treated us differently because we were a table of 3 caucasian people. That left a bad taste in our mouth. Went to this place 2 times and was very disappointed. The first time I went at night time for dinner arpund 8:30ish... they refused to give me table saying they are fully booked when over half of the restaurant was empty and even if they had reservations for people who clearly didnt show up... atleast ask us if we would like to sit at the bar instead... The second time i called to make reservation since i figured they might be by reservations only and the lady on the phone said oh we are open you can come anytime... clearly thats not true because just showing up doesnt get you a table... The drinks were okish... we tried mango lassi ans nimbu soda and chilli sharbat... mango lassi was made using canned mango pulp and it was full of preservatives... nimbu soda didnt have any masala in it and it was just lime juice and soda... chilli sharbat was better than the other twp drinks... The appetizers were not that great either.... we tried cone papri, vada pav, aloo potli and gullistani kabob... vada pav was surprisingly sweet and everything else lacked flavors... The main course was good... specially maska paneer... veg kohlapuri and breads were again not that great... And the must try item is their phirni... amazing.. The two stars are for their maska paneer, phirni and serving staff specially Jay... Wont be going back though... read more

However, I was so impressed with the team and how they welcomed me into the restaurant that I took my family to dine in there even if I had the leftovers In my fridge. I love the service, professionalism, and customer service. Manager " Jay" took his time to explain to my daughter, who is a very picky eater, and she ended up ordering two portions of the appetizers. Overall it was a great experience; the food was delicious, especially the Lamb Biryani. We are so lucky to have an authentic Indian restaurant nearby; I must admit that since I moved from London, this was one of the best Indian food I have tasted. My quest to find a good Lucknow style dum biryani in the Boston area has finally come to an end - this place has some really good dum biryani. From great drinks to good service to some really good food, this place has it all. We had the dum biryani, butter chicken, and the goat cheese koftas, which were extraordinary. It's definitely slightly pricier than most Indian restaurants in the area, but no more expensive than any other fine dining restaurant you would go to in the area. This may be one of my new top Indian places in the area - the Goat cheese Kofta was well-spiced and flavorful without being too heavy, and the Maska Paneer gravy is delicious.
