Of course I didn't trust him after the first error so I took it to another MASTER mechanic and JUST AS I THOUGHT IT WAS THE KANBUS LINE, and He charged me $400 and gave me an oil change and got me a new headlight. The Master mechanic that fixed my car told me "I think he knew it was the Kanbus line he just wanted to fix all the expensive problems first before he told you the real problem" and it only took 2 days...not two weeks. I took my car here a few weeks ago for an oil change and brake pad/rotor replacement. Upon picking…read moremy car up and driving for a few hours, I noticed a giant oil leak under my car. Took it back promptly and they claimed it was a "faulty crush washer on the drain plug". If I had to guess, it was just installed improperly and they blamed it on a defective washer... Fast forward a to today where I am driving a couple hundred miles later and the skid plate under the engine is scraping on the ground and is barely hanging on by a single bolt. I am guessing they improperly installed the skid plate after the oil change as well. They were nice enough to send some kids over to clean up the oil spill in my driveway, but overall I would strongly recommend taking your car anywhere else but here.

Seems like this was indeed a one-off experience and I am very impressed by Nick's integrity and ownership of the mistake. As I said below, I will definitely be back here next time I need a repair (which with how old my car is, is unfortunately often). [Original Review]: I've had good experiences here in the past, so hopefully this is a one-off experience. Brought in my car for what I suspected was a faulty alternator, but asked them to call me once they verified that was the issue and before they replaced anything (I have an old Toyota with 350k miles on it so it is always a question of how much money is worth putting into any repairs on it). I got a call later that day saying my car was done (no call prior to this with a cost, asking for go-ahead, etc) and to stop by to pick it up. I get to the shop to find out they have replaced my battery and not the alternator. I question them in it and they go run another test, and determine it did not need a battery but does still need the alternator replaced. They were nice enough to order an alternator and still get the car fixed by the end of the day, but when I went to pick it up, I look at the receipt to find they had charged me labor and parts for a battery and TWO alternators. I'm currently in the process of trying to get a refund for the erroneous second alternator charge. Hoping they are back to the better service I have received from them in the past next time I need to bring my car in and that this is only a one-off.

I wasn't sure if we should tow the car or risk driving it with absolutely DEAFENING exhaust noise. At about 12:30 PM I took a chance - drove the car. As I approached Lyndale Avenue, the owner waved me in. I couldn't believe he was waving at ME since I'd never been to the shop before. I stopped, turned off the engine and yelled out the window...they smiled and, again, motioned for me to drive straight into the garage. Within minutes they'd discovered the missing catalytic converter. 20 minutes later they'd assessed the condition of the rest of the car. We gave the go-ahead for repair at about 1:30 PM. By 7:30 PM the car was fixed and the door unlocked so I could pay the bill and drive home even though they were officially closed. THANK you for the friendly, thorough and magically fast service!

Joe, without hesitation, said he would have them overnight shipped without cost so I could have them for my appointment - now THAT is customer service!
