This guys are great. Finding a good auto mechanic is almost as important as finding a good surgeon. . The guys at Fixt Rite do work on my car and my wife's. They are honest, try to save us money, and are almost apologetic when we must spend dough to get something repaired. I have a 12 year old, eight cylinder, twin turbo Mercedes that is finicky and troubled. No templates can be applied to keep this automobile running. I had a nail in my tire but they refused to patch it due to the fact they were too old.... Not worn down tread but too old. I was told I needed 4 new tires for around 7 hundred... cheapest tires they had. Fair enough. Asked for a Freon recharge but said it would be 268 because they had to run a diagnostic with dye. Couldn't fix my dashboard light as they said would have to take it my dash apart to fix and I would have to bring it back in. I ended up getting a basic oil change non synthetic which was more expensive then Jiffy Lube. Took it to another mechanic in same area.. the charged me a total of 145 dollars for all repairs. Finally they pretty much ignored me when I came in to pay for oil change. Shop around folks. read more

Honest, competent, kind. We have relied on them for ten years to keep our three old cars running. We are so thankful for them. We have brought two Facebook marketplace used cars to them for an assessment before we bought them. One time we went through with the sale and another time we decided not to buy it because it needed too many repairs and the purchase price was too high. Often they are booked this week but you can get an appointment for next week. Often you drop off the car between 7-9 am and then pick it up between 5 and 5:30. They have a couple of old loaner cars that they can let you borrow for the day if you request that and are a trusted customer. They earnestly try to solve the problem and save you money. They have also helped us decide when a car was no longer worth fixing. Pete retired but Dan is still there and Anthony, Ben, and Bill have the same good values. They have helped keep our family going. We are thankful for them. read more

People that care is what I found at Fixt Rite. Yesterday I stopped at Mt Olivet TCU to pick up my brother to take him to a Dr appointment and noticed I had a flat tire. OK, so I rolled my brother back into the TCU and found I could not get my spare out. I looked up the street and saw the Fixt Rite sign. I drove up and said I have an appointment in Edina and need help. They took a quick look at it and rushed the car into the shop. They fixed the tire and filled the rest with air and I was on my way in 15-20 minutes. UNBELEIVABLE!!! Also, in the short time I was in the waiting room, 2 of the workers that came by greeted me and asked if I was taken care of. They checked and told me it would be just a few more minutes. EXTREMELY friendly to put me at ease when noticing I was nervously waiting and was in a hurry. Great work and THANK YOU Fixt Rite. read more

Brought my car in after having a different place attempt to fix it 3 times for one issue with no luck. Fixt Rite actually examined the engine instead of just going off the error code and correctly deduced the problem. They were able to get my car running like brand new and were also generous with a loaner car. It wasn't inexpensive but I don't think that was as reflective of their prices as it was the steep amount of parts and labor that my specific case required. Inter-company and customer communication could be slightly better, but that's a very minor nitpick and I would highly recommend them. I definitely plan on going back when needed! read more

Having used cars over the years and 6 drivers at some times I was very happy to find a trustworthy place to go. I have never been dissatisfied with the excellent service I have received. Super nice people and I have to believe that they were not trying to maliciously screw me over but I'm very disappointed with my experience with them. So I needed some headlight wiring done, tire rotation and an oil change. I also told them that there was some rattling in the engine and to let me know if it's worth putting any more money into this because it has high miles and I'm afraid the rattling is something serious. They weren't sure what it was before, during or after the service but they told me to monitor the oil level after the repair. I paid my $242 and left the shop. Two days later, my engine blows up at Kowalski's so I now have a broken vehicle worth about $200 when I had a vehicle that was about $3,000 before I brought it to the shop. When I called them back, I got a lot of statements like 'we've been doing this for 25 years' and 'this kind of thing happens quite a bit' and basically telling me I'm S.O.L. Looking at the other reviews, I don't think this kind of thing happens very often and I do think they're nice people there but this was one of the most unfortunate experiences for me and I tried to avoid it by telling them to call me if it wasn't worth doing the $242 worth of work but they took my $242 and I now have a vehicle that only a salvage yard will pick up for less than what I paid for the maintenance fees. It might have been a coincidence that it happened two days after the Auto work so that's why I'm giving them to stars instead of one but....it's a hell of a coincidence read more

I'm thankful for yelp to help find a trusty mechanic. After reading reviews I headed to fix rite to check breaks and repair a side mirror that lost its battle against a garage . I paid less for the breaks than I had years ago at another spot. They also worked hard to find a cheap mirror for me. Finally they noticed my engine rumbling at start up and after checking my oil realized I was way past due! I felt the repair cost was fair overall. They are popular so there is a wait to get in. Plan ahead! They do have loaner cars which is an added bonus! read more
