I bought my car to vroom because I had the engine light on and the head light was not working. They fixed the light but I needed to remind them to run a diagnosis. They told me the pcm was not working. Their estimate was more than the value of the car. The same day I went to a different mechanic for a a second opinion. I stayed there because I wanted to see. They found out the gas cap was not closing. Then they open the trunk and found the gas valve unplugged. We were all shocked. They put it back in and the car is working fine now. The Vrooom guy told me they left the valve unplugged so it wouldn't cause any further issues. Scam! read more

Stay away. For their new prices you could go to the dealer. They got bought out by GVT. The only oil changes they offer are synthetic blend or pure synthetic. Why would I pay 50-80 bucks for an oil change with standard oil that will cost me 30 dollars or less. Sickening. The guy I talked to lied and said most cars require it going back to the 90s. When I challenged him on it, he then changed his story saying most customers want it. Their prices have shot up a lot. They now charge 280 for a radiator flush. Just go to Tires Plus for 180. Pathetic. Now looking for a new place. If you don't believe my review just make some phone calls and verify what I am saying. It is easy to do. Classic example of a new owner messing up a great brand Vroom. When I bought my new car from the dealer they said use regular oil not synthetic or synthetic blends and do it once every 5000 miles. They said anything sooner, or using synthetic is a complete waste of money. and you burn your money with service you do not need, check the owners manuals about whether you need synthetic and the frequency of the change. Great customer service. If during the repair they find something else wrong, they Will tell you if immediate repair is needed or if something can go a little while. They worked with my warranty company (45 min hold) and the repair was covered. They found something else when they were doing the repair and again had another 45 min call to see if it was covered. It wasn't, but I was happy they found the issue and it was fixed. Been going here for a good 15 years and highly recommend. read more

No Integrity. Still waiting for my call back and a resolution. When you bring a vehicle to any shop for an oil change or other work.... Shops inform you of other problems they see. For safety, preventative maintenance and to get additional work for their shop. Anyone who says this isn't true is being Deceptive. I paid this shop hundreds of dollars to replace parts at the rear axle/differential area. During the work they never mentioned a single issue or possible problem with my rear differential or anything else it needed, even though they took the cover off and it was Full of metal shavings and had obvious gear damage. They just replaced the yolk, 2 seals and the fluid and charged me hundreds to do it. Any other shop would have said something about the damage. NOPE not them. They made about $450 fixing something that was completely shot. Then when the gears were immediately making all kinds of noise, they charged me Again to diagnose a problem that they knew already existed.(in my opinion) At that time they wanted 1200-1300 to repair the gears that i had already invested 5-$600 into. That 5-600 would have got me half way to getting it repaired by Them. I looked for an alternative to a 1,200 repair because at that time i had hundreds into it and Didn't know/realize the gears were Already bad when they worked on it. I found a used/warrantied replacement and found a certified mechanic to swap the Entire rear end/axle. When the mechanic pulled the cover off the rear differential he found a Huge amount of metal chunks and metal shavings. The magnet on the rear cover was buried in metal shavings. NOTE: the used high mileage replacement had Zero metal shavings in it or on the magnet. I'll skip to the end...... I politely tried to discuss the situation and a remedy for Their mistakes, lack of integrity and knowledge of the problem when first worked on. There were 5 or 6 guys working the counter. The person i talked to spoke to me like an idiot who had no knowledge of how all this works. Contradicting himself and claiming Notifying customers of other problems and issues during this work or any work wasn't a normal process for shops. He also Stated.... ALL REAR DIFFERENTIALS they took the cover off of had lots of metal shavings.(Lie) He walked away from me and wouldn't finish the discussion. A couple others chimed in and another person finally had a more realistic conversation, but he contradicted the first guy. And, near the end it was My Fault, because i chose to find an alternative repair and not have them fix it for 1200-1300 more. Huh???? I didn't know it was full of Metal Shavings until the cover got removed after finding an alternative to Giving them another $1,200. In the end....... The person at the desk said he'd look into all the repair info etc and call me back the next day. Well.... This is day 2 and You forced me to write a response. If you had called and tried to resolve this, I wouldn't be writing this. read more

I had brought my truck in Saturday, 24 June to have the code read as it was misfiring. With the approaching holiday and just business, they couldn't get me in until 6 July. I took the appointment then spent Monday morning calling around to see if I could get in sooner? A shop could get me in that day... yeah?! I popped in to ask: hey if someone can get me in today, a holiday week, I'm skeptical... Tony told me if I left it today or tomorrow they could probably get it done in a couple days! I jumped @ the chance as it was sooner than the 6th & I just trust these guys! I left my truck first thing Tuesday morning, Jeremy called Tuesday afternoon to inform me what issues they had found, how they would fix it and if I wanted to replace all the coils or just the bad one, especially given the mileage of my truck and let me know they would have to remove the manifold. I opted to replace everything as I know deep, thorough work like this has never been done in 107,000 miles. Jeremy then gave me the quote, a good $300 less than what I had been expecting. He added in that there's a 25% discount from their parts carrier for replacing all the coils. Given all this information and assuming they were doing the work in between appointments I suspected I wouldn't get the call until just before 6:00 close on Wednesday. Surprise!!! Tony called @ 12:29 that I was all set!! Within 45 minutes they were @ my door to pick me up and bring me to the shop to pick up my truck, a courteous service I greatly appreciate!! THANKS Vrooom for always providing timely, outstanding quality service by the friendliest crew around!! I am deeply appreciative that they squeezed me in, especially on a holiday week!! Scott, Tony and the rest of the guys are simply the best in the business. They have earned my trust over and over. If something doesn't need to be fixed they will tell you. If there is ever an issue, they will make it right. I have taken over four vehicles here multiple times and always had great service. They actually try to help you while saving you money! How a real auto repair should act. I don't trust any other place to fix my cars. When I owned a Saab they even jerry-rigged a piece of metal and saved me over $500 bucks instead of having to buy an expensive replacement part. My 2010 Subaru Legacy had a bad head gasket. Napa auto parts referred them to me. Took it in they ran diagnostics and confirmed the gasket was bad. They said it would be about a month to finish due to their work log but maybe 3 was at the soonest. In less than three weeks they called and said it was ready and the bill was less than the original estimate. Everyone there was very professional, respectful and friendly. Since moving to Roseville, I decided to try Vrooom based on the reviews. I was not disappointed. I used them for two services: new tires on my Tesla and an oil change for an old SUV that only sits in the garage. Both experiences were great. There was one very minor hiccup that was easily remedied. I have two sets of wheels, one for winter and one for summer. I left the winter wheels and they called me when the new tires were ready. I was told I could call back the day I wanted to swap them on my car since it would only take 15 minutes to accomplish. When I called in the morning to see if I could come in that afternoon, I was told I had to make an appointment, which would be a week later at the earliest. If I had been told this in the first place, I would have just made the appointment at that time. Nonetheless, they called me back and said they could squeeze me in that same day. Very minor and not concerning. Everyone was incredibly helpful and the service and pricing were amazing. I'll be back for sure. read more

I have gone to Vrooom many times over the last few years and they've always been very kind and courteous. For instance Iy headlight mount on my 2005 Crossfire had broken so the light was no longer working. I brought it in to Vrooom, and they did an excellent job looking for the part, driving to Mercedes and Chrysler dealers to see if anyone had the part. They actually called a few times throughout the day to update me on the hunt. No one had it, and the only way to get the part was to replace the whole headlight fixture, which is over $500. Yikes. Luckily after failing to locate a new part, they were able to repair the existing one with some solder! They didn't know if it would hold up but it would keep me from getting pulled over again. It's been almost a year and it's still going. I strongly recommend Vrooom, there prices are fair, their service is great, and their people are awesome. read more

For me, trust is #1 when it comes to choosing a repair shop. They seem to do quality work but you definitely need to get all work estimated ahead of time or they may take advantage of you. I found out the hard way. They were replacing my radiator and serpentine belt; I knew that replacing the 2 radiator hoses would add literally a couple minutes to the job, so when I dropped off the vehicle I added the hose replacement - and neglected to have the job re-quoted. It ended up costing me $88 for $55 in hoses (OK, they need to add some margin to parts), plus $99 installation (for 2 minutes of labor). My fault for not insisting on a requote, but shame on them for gouging me (the trust factor). That was my first and last repair with them. read more

I was in today for a minor issue that I thought would take 5 minutes or less to fix. Andrew Pongratz came out to the parking lot and spent over 30 minutes fixing my problem (and it was HOT out). I love the friendliness and honesty of Vrooom. I was there today to have my turn signal bulbs replaced. They replaced left one and said that the light went off for the right one so I left. By the way, only $7.50 to replace one, I can manage that. I got about 1/2 mile away when I saw the light come back on for the right one and so I turned around and call them to advise that it came one. They not only changed it quickly and apologized for their error, but they didn't charge me for replacing the bulb. I don't know many businesses that would not only apologize for their error but comp you as well. Vrooom is a class act. read more

Years ago, I always found it difficult to locate a mechanic I felt I could trust and that would not rip me off. About 12 years ago, I came across Vrooom because it was just down the street from when I had started working at a new location. Today I am still taking my vehicles here because of the quality of both the mechanic and customer service I receive. I am no an expert on cars, but I am not a novice, either, so I usually have a good idea of what may be causing a problem before I take my car in to be looked at. Often I am right, sometimes it turns out to be something else. The problem is always explained to me well and, if I have questions about what they just told me, they take the time to clarify anything I want to know. Whereas some places will try to get you to fix other things you never even came in for in an effort to try to get more business out of you that same day, Vrooom will let you know of anything additional you should be aware of and recommend a time frame in which it would be best to have it eventually corrected. I have never felt pressured to fix something that I did not want to. As a side story, I once took a car to a dealership which wanted $213 to fix a problem. I then took it to another mechanic who located the problem, replaced a $4 part and didn't even charge me for his time. My experience with Vrooom is that they would fix only what needs to be fixed, safely, and do so in a way that saves the customer money. The guys at the front desk are both knowledgeable about the common problems for different makes and models they see come through and they are very friendly to boot. They provide detailed estimates for any repairs or services you inquire about and give you a time frame for when they expect repairs to be completed which, to my experience, has usually been pretty accurate. I would give this place 0 stars if it was available so i settled with 1......i was so disappointed i created a yelp account to vent my anger. I recently moved to the area and was looking for a good mechanic with fair prices and honesty, sorry to say but this place is not it. First off i have common knowledge of simple bolt on/off car repairs, so i try to do as much work on my own as possible to save money. I'll keep it simple with my story but i replaced a faulty part on the top of my engine that required removal of a few parts. Taking off and putting back together took no more than 1 hour by a non certified backyard mechanic(myself)......... So after i changed this part my car was just not running smoothly and was lacking power, symptoms that did not exist at all before i changed that part. Being stumped i decided to bring it up to Vroom ***major mistake*** Vroom then performed a diagnostics that cost $105 . They informed me that it took quite some time to figure out the problem because my car was so old that only one mechanic knew how they worked *****its a 1995, soooo old and rare huh?*****......... He then told me that after checking everything on it they found out it needed these certain parts and it would take 3-4 hours to repair.......................so on top of the $105 he wanted to charge another $850 to fix these parts.......................................................................................a total of $850, what a great deal right???? NOOOO I then talked back and forth with the guy about that being the FOR SURE problem and he confirmed it ........... One problem......... I just had the car took apart and put back together with the same area IN UNDER 1 HOUR......me.....the non certified backyard mechanic.................................so i was thinking..........................Your saying your ASE certified mechanics found this problem and it will take 3 to 4 hours but take me 1 hour..............................................................so i obviously took my car home to work on it myself........... I then go pick up all the parts, which were not cheap.....$280..........i put these parts in under 1 hour...............and i fire her up and wouldnt you know its condition did not change one bit, it was exactly the same!!!!!!!! So i then do the smart thing, i bring the car across town to my old mechanic i used to live by that did honest fair priced work...... After checking all the stuff he finds the problem, a few of the parts werent plugged in all the way and half of the wires got pinched in between metal which caused them to not work properly, PROBLEM FIXED after he took out everything i replaced to check it and put it all back together for the price of $150 Vroom relies on you being a complete moron with how automobiles work, either they are scammers or they are just lousy mechanics with no knowledge...........................i spent $380 to fix something that did not need to be fixed, and whats worse they were gonna charge me $955 to fix something that didnt need to be repaired....... Lets just say if you like to spend all your hard earned money on getting screwed, fixing things that do not need to be fixed, talking to employees that constantly contradict what they say, Vroom is the place to go! read more

I got an oil change right before Christmas. Drove my truck (55,370 miles on odometer) to North Dakota. When I got back, oil was leaking in the driveway. Went underneath truck and oil was dripping off the filter. Took it in thinking "okay new filter, must be a bad gasket." Took it in and when they took me in the shop, they say "see no oil on the filter, but oil on bottom of tranny. You have a leaking rear main seal." Cost $600-$700. Well I didn't have the work done, and when I got underneath the truck back home, there is oil coming off the oil filter and it is very, very loose! Makes a person go Hmmmmm........Either this is a scam, or it is awfully poor mechanical knowledge! And you know what, I don't believe any mechanic is that stupid!!! By the way, this place only gets a one star rating because they don't have a zero!!!!! Could it be just a couple of dishonest people. I suppose it could, I see a lot of favorable reviews, and I've never had a problem before. But you know what they say, "A couple of bad apples can spoil the whole tree." read more
