This review comes from just someone local in the neighborhood who was super excited to try savory bread. The bread seemed fresh and still warm out of the oven. The employees were welcoming and kind to offer suggestions as well. Note that this place is only a to-go kind of place. There's like two tables outside on the parking lot side walk. I had the Potato Borek and Lahmajune. I thought the Potato Borek had a better filling-to-bread ratio featuring spiced buttery mashed potatoes. However, I thought both of the filling were too salty for me. While it was something I'm glad to have tried, it wasn't something I wouldn't seek after. read more

Taron is the real deal. I don't live in the area, but drive all the way to Glendale to get my boregs from here because they have the best. Prices are bit steep so this wouldn't be an everyday purchase for me, but these are definitely my go-to when I want to bring goodies for a friend. The spicy cheese is my favorite! The meat variety is always so flavorful. I wish they would do a better job of ensuring they often have items in stock, but willing to cut them some slack because I see the conditions (those ovens make it HOT in there) they work in. For a 10/10 experience, buy a borek or lahmajun, ask them to warm it up, get one of the yogurt drinks they have in the fridge and enjoy a fresh meal outside on the tables they have set up. read more

I think I found my new favorite lamajun place in Glendale. It has the right amount of crisp and flavor. Not too soggy, floury, or doughy like other places. Their cheese borek is really good too! Highly recommend this place! read more

This place is delicious. I was a regular at their location in E Hollywood when I lived over there 6 years ago, and now that I'm back in LA on the Northeast side I am a regular at this location. Always delicious, sometimes out of items in the last hour or two, which is standard bakery practice I'd say (as a former pastry chef). And to the 1 star review mentioning rude service: I am also a service industry professional and this is straightforward no-frills Armenian counter service as I would expect. Believe or not; my friends from other states come to visit me to have "Armenian Pizza" called "lahmajun." WOW! I was in Jordan, Israel , etc. This 'lahmajun' is supposed to be Arabic; I asked in Israel about it, no one knew what it is. There! The booregs are really good but the wait is far too long. The prices are also outrageous. Lahmajune used to cost $1 about a year ago and now they are $2.50 each! Yikes! Good food, bad prices. Your choice if you want to give it a go. read more

This place is super close to my work and they always hot and fresh goods! It's easy to miss so look for they shakeys sign and go into that parking lot ! Also they have perashkis or potato boreks that are baked instead of the usual fried. It's delicious and has dill in it. read more

One of the best Armenian bakeries in town. Everything is baked fresh daily and they are the only bakery open on Sundays. They have a limited menu I but they have perfected all the items they serve. They had run out of my kids favorite items and the baker went out of his way and baked them just for them when he saw how disappointed they were. read more

Superb. We had the lamajoon (crispy thin crust Armenian pizza-like pie), the spinach and cheese beorkeks. All were fresh baked and had that unmistakable just-baked crispness to them. Came here for the first time. My coworker brings the lamahjune to work so I wanted to bring my husband to try. We got two lamahjune, a cheese beorek and a spicy cheese beorek. They are constantly making the lamahjune so it is fresh and delicious. The cheese beorek was still warm and had this soft texture. The spicy cheese was not spicy. I thought the texture of the cheese beorek tasted better than the spicy one. I will be back for more. $1 for one lamahjune, $1.50 for the cheese beorek and $3 for the spicy cheese beorek. I like a good lahmajune (Armenian pizza) and hadn't had one in a long time. Most recently, Paradise Pastry on Glenoaks didn't impress me. I did a search for lahmajune in Glendale and this place popped up with a handful of others. In the past, I've never had spicy lahmajune! It was too strong for me. Take away the spice and I'd like it a lot more. Nevertheless, it's a bargain at 90 cents each. Next time, I'll have to check out Sasoun Bakery on Colorado, Sipan Bakery on Glenoaks, or Lahmajune Factory on Broadway. The good lahmajune search continues... read more
