Frambroise: Rich chocolatey mousse with crunchy bits and raspberry jam. I enjoyed this combo. I watched too many fruit mousse ASMR videos, so I was perhaps a little disappointed when the chocolate coatings did not audibly crunch, but I think it'd need to be placed in the freezer for that effect. The iced vanilla latte was the perfect balance alongside the pastries, and I ended up leaving with a handful of macarons that were honestly addictive. Every flavor was delicious. Both were in the classic white chocolate shell. These are so cute, fun to eat, very refreshing, and not overly sweet. The shop itself is adorable, plenty of seating, great decor and the staff was super friendly and very nice! It was my first time trying and the spices didn't amaze my palette. I will have to try their garlic bread next time if I feel like getting something savory. Their sweets are always a hit for me! This was for a birthday party, so having the cake ready as promised was extremely important. What was most frustrating was the lack of accountability. Instead of offering a meaningful solution, discount, refund, or apology for the inconvenience, I was simply told to pick a different cake or wait another 30 minutes for a replacement. Mistakes happen, but giving away a prepaid custom order and then acting as if it's a minor inconvenience is unacceptable. The whole reason for pre-ordering and paying in advance is to avoid this exact situation. Unfortunately, this experience caused unnecessary stress on an already busy day, and I cannot recommend this bakery based on how this issue was handled.

Better yet, if she ever tried Lou's, she'd never have the gall to post nonsense like that. If you haven't had it, don't review it. Simple as that. As for ALL of the items at Lou's "Oh, aimé-je" it does NOT get any better. The croissants are hands down the best in America. The sandwiches (all of them): finger-licking good. The éclairs are the most delectable in town, as are the other pastries. And with ALL of that, somehow the best thing is still the customer service. I have yet to walk in there without seeing Lou personally chatting it up with customers, the man is everywhere. On sunny and rainy days he's passing out umbrellas, and on Mother's Day he's handing out wonderful gifts for all the ladies. The staff take their lead from him and are every bit as splendid. If you haven't tried it yet, it's not too late -- run, don't walk, this weekend. Your taste buds will file a formal complaint if you don't.
