This Target is going down fast. They have been closing the self checkout constantly. They told me they do this to push people to the human check out. But MOST (not all) the employees are super rude. And will treat you like you are an idiot. It's usually the older employees. I have literally had to show them 3-4 times that they were wrong. Taking pictures to show them that the item I have IS on clearance. I get that no one of a certain age wants to be working retail. But if you're doing the job, at least be nice! The younger employees aren't the sharpest tools in the shed. But at least they mostly have good attitudes. Which again is why I like self checkout. I don't have to deal with the employees that act miserable and literally will leave me in a bad mood. Target has better prices than the grocery store, and I live across the street. But getting to the point not dealing with their employees and ever changing policies is worth going down the street. read more

Person at Target not Wearing Mask despite California Mandate. Employees did not do anything. I was at the Target located on 51 Tierra Rejada Rd, Simi Valley, CA 93065, Friday July 31 around 5:05 pm. I was on the second self-checkout and I noticed the guy next to me -on first self-checkout line- was not wearing mask. I was shocked. He continued scanning his products without any Target employee saying anything. There is almost always a target employee near the self-checkout lines to provide assistance. So once I finished scanning my stuff, I went to talk to a target employee who was less than 8 feet away from me, standing by the register. I asked if Target enforces the face mask policy. She replied that Target does. I proceeded to ask why she didn't ask the man next to my self-checkout line to put the mask on. The employee was near by and the self-checkout lines are on her field of vision. I was told she did not see the man. I truly don't think that was the case. She was only eight feet away and standing by a register. I asked for the Manager. The Manager, Joseph, was next to her. I was told the customer was asked -while he was shopping in the store- to put the mask on. The customer had replied he didn't want to wear the mask because: "the mask was uncomfortable given that he had a beard." Apparently, he put the mask back while shopping. Once near or at the register, he decided to take the mask off. I am really concerned that target employees: a) do not have situational awareness, particularly when it comes to individuals in their stores and/or b) are too scared to enforce the statewide policy mandate..so instead of talking to those who do not wear masks and ask them to put them on, they choose to look the other way. It is also unbelievable that people are so selfish to put others at risk, without regard to those who are vulnerable (the elderly, children) and/or whose immune systems are compromised and are prone to infections/disease. I guess some people care more about their own beards than human health or life. read more

I really like this Target location. It's clean, well stocked and well organized. There is nothing I hate more than going into a Target and clothing/shoes are all over the floor and you have a hard time searching for what you need, not at this location. There are always employees making sure everything is neat and tidy. The staff are fairly friendly and helpful. I've made a few returns/exchanges and the staff have always been pleasant. There is ample parking in the lot. Although it may appear that there are a lot of cars in the lot, the store is usually not as packed as other locations that I frequent. read more

Placed an order for drive up and did they bother to fulfill it? NO. I go inside the store after waiting and I am met with total apathy and dismissive disrespect. I begin to start getting the items from the drive up order and all the store cares about is closing and could care less that I've been waiting or that they are zero help forcing me to leave without what I needed. This wasted my time, gas and is just beyond rude. I am done with Target after being loyal to Target for years. This drive up Or pick up is yet another false marketing scam that will prob be gone tomorrow. Let alone their pricing is different at every target which they fully acknowledge. Time for a Deceptive Trade Practices complaint with the CA Attorney Generals Office! I am canceling the order and returning items purchased the last few weeks. This target is my happy place! I live in chatsworth and I have targets I can go to around my area but this one is the one I choose to come to any day. I'm that target shopper that comes in for a tooth brush and leaves with a cart of stuff I didn't even know I needed. This target always has good finds and a clean stocked store. Not to mention there restrooms are always clean! I don't know why but many targets have the unfortunate reputation of the restrooms being absolutely disgusting. But not this one! Even when I ask for help on an item the team member has stopped and helped even asked on there radio if anyone has seen an item. It might cost me my gas but for better service I'd travel to this one everyday if I need to. read more

A big target with all your needs!.. well most of them. Not much to say about the target... prices are the same, layout is the same. Difference between this and any other target is they have more options in the food department- meats and more frozen meal choices. There is tons of parking, a starbucks and thats about it. It is convenient when you don't want to go all over for grocery shopping etc. But that's about it. It is not like the SUPER targets I have heard about but still decent. read more

Two experiences, one at eachTarget in Simi Valley, Ca. I exchanged items I purchased with a debit card. The items were not exactly the same, but were similar. I was told by the employee that it was done and I could go. However, when I needed to return these new items, I was told that they'd already been refunded, even though I had my receipt. I think the Target employees refunded my item, kept the money, and told me my exchange was done. This happened two times, at two different Targets. read more

I spend a lot of money at this location, it's my favorite Target, but today I am so mad.....why can't you figure out how to take people thru the check out? if you have more then 3 people in line, open up a register.... i stood in line for 20 minutes, when they decided the checker had to go on break...then when you open another register take the next person in line! Well today was one of the worse experiences at a Target I have ever had when leaving Target. We had paid for all our item at self check out. When we were checking ourselves out we had one associate remind us about an item we had under the cart because our cart was full, which was fine but once we paid and started heading out to leave. A security guard and another associate stopped us to look at the receipt, which I thought was odd because we have never been stopped at a Target before like that. My husband kept asking them is there a reason why you are stopping us, they did not respond. Then the security person said I wanted to look at this which was a bag that had a bunch of cars. We felt targeted for no reason. I have been to Targets all over the place in better cities then Simi Valley and have bought tons of stuff and never have I been treated like this ever. My husband told them would you like me to take everything out of the cart one by one because he got very upset. There was absolutely no reason for them to stop us everything in our cart was paid for. They did not apologize for their behavior or anything very rude and unprofessional. I may also like to add that the associate was in regular clothes it didn't even look like she worked there. Molly the store manager is AMAZING!!!! Last weekend some "awesome" person decided to print and order 500 pictures, that literally backed everyone up the entire day that needed pictures. I had to leave to go out of town for the holiday and that was the only thing that was holding me up. I guess they ended up running out of ink and 4x6 paper, lack of communication with the gals at customer service, my picture order said it was completed when it wasn't, waiting 5 plus hours for my pictures and she made everything better. She offered us Starbucks (anything we wanted) and gave us a store credit AND didn't even have to pay for our pictures. That's how you handle a situation!!!! Thanks so much Molly. I stopped by to get a gift for colleague who is registered at Target. The store had a terrible chemical odor in its entrance. The two registry terminals were not connected. I asked a young woman in customer service if the registry is down. she said it is but I can look it up on my smartphone. I only had my work phone with me, which can onlbe used for business. I asked how, if the registries themselves are down, they could be accessed from a smartphone or anyplace else? She didn't have an answer to that. If the registries themselves are up and running why can't a Target employee access it on a computer just as I could on my smartphone? She didn't know, only that they could not access the registries. I gave up at that point. I had planned to pick up a couple of other items I usually buy at Target but the combination of the sickening odor and my inability to accomplish my purpose in stopping caused me to give up. read more

so many guests are allowed in the store all at once and very few of them wear their masks correctly. i see so many of them with their noses out or completely pulled down. there is no mask enforcement, and i even see employees with their masks pulled down. there is no social distancing measures in place. i do not feel safe in this store. please care about the health of your customers and employees. read more

This review is for 3/27/20. Its disappointing when Target announces that the first hour of EVERY DAY is for shoppers who are elderly, pregnant. This store did not honor that and its upsetting and misleading. I arrived early prior to opening and everyone who was in line walked in. This Target location is one of my favorite. Always clean, always stocked well and great service. I would like to see their grocery section expanded a little bit more. More meat variety and a fish option would be a big improvement. I like their selection of men's clothing too. I came here to buy emergency jeans (forgot mine at home and realized they were missing when I was changing at the gym to go to work). I was actually surprised that I was able to find very good looking Levi's jeans for just $25, not even on sale. Restrooms were clean which is a big plus! read more

This Target has gone completely downhill since the pandemic. There are always empty shelves and employees standing around doing nothing but chatting with each other and looking at their cell phones. Many who shop here pretend as if there's no pandemic going on and don't wear masks. Although all Targets now enforce wearing masks, this Target continues to be lax with those who refuse to comply. Shop here at your own risk or, better yet, shop elsewhere where employees care about your health. Those who think this is a laughing matter won't be laughing when the virus catches up with you. read more

This Target does not enforce wearing masks. I saw a few people shopping and picking up prescriptions who were not wearing masks. The other Target locations have security and managers at the entrance ensuring state laws and company policy are being followed, but this location fails to do so. read more

I came in to town and needed to stop by target to get a few necessities and of course I some how forgot my body pillow under my cart as I was stuffing my car full of all my target bags. I had my boyfriend call the next day and when he called in and spoke to carley, she let us know they had found it just where it was left and since it was in the cold over night they would happily give us a new one. Coming in a few days later Heshan the store manager made sure to fulfill just what she said while Rocio also helped look for a jacket I might have left behind, and made sure to look around incase it was some where else in the store. These few definitely made me not only a happy customer but made me feel assuring that target not only sells things for a great price but has quality customer service to back it up. The man working asks for my ID and proceeds to bring out a completely different bed set with flowers (the one I ordered was black) then told me maybe it was just the lighting on the picture! Perfectly fine Target store in West Simi Valley. Isles were clear, well stocked with merchandise. Things were laid out attractively etc. Store employees that I came in contact with were polite and friendly. The women's restroom was usable. read more

MUAHAHAHAHAHA I am so happy about this dang store. It is everything that a new exciting Target should be PLUS they have almost a full size market inside. Yes, that's right, a market with produce and meat and a frozen food section that puts Cochran Target to shame. Actually, now that I am thinking of it....the frozen section is as big as the Vons that I used to shop at. The inside is all sparkly and clean. The employees are all too new to hate their job and be rude. And the plastic carts glide like the well oiled machines that they temporarily are. This target is TERRIBLE! I came for a few quick items: 1. Decorative take out boxes (Chinese food) 2. Small self building pop up boxes 3. Stuffing for presents (like Easter shredding) 4. Tag labels on a string (not the sticker kind) I had to ask 3 workers for assurance and no one could find anything. Turns out this Target didn't have what I came in for. I let the store know what was mission and they seemed unconcerned. Why ask me if I found everything I was looking for if you have no intention of making note of it. read more

This is my 100th review on Yelp. I wanted to do a little something special. So why am I reviewing Target? Because we go here way more than we should. Enough that the red card is a necessary thing to carry in my wallet. Now, I was alright with Target before. When we passed each other on the street, we'd wave or at the least, nod our heads. Occasionally, we even made a deal when it was convenient for both of us. I needed something Target had. I happened to be there. They wanted my money and I was inside. Convenient. It all changed one day. Our destinies confronted when my living situation was pushed next to this establishment. Suddenly our eyes met. Oh those red garnishments, the subtle curves on its sides, and talk about that front door. A thing of beauty. Suddenly it was like the movies, us (mostly me) running towards each other in a field of daisies. We embraced..... well.. tried to embrace, but every time I stepped towards it the doors open. Now, I know what you're thinking. I'm not as shallow as I appear. It's not all about looks. Man, oh man, does this place have substance. Groceries, first aid, icee's, camping gear, Starbucks, cheaply made clothes, cheaply made electronics, Lego's.... oh, the Lego's. I've walked into this target for bread and ended up spending $100 without flinching. It really is a thing of beauty. Somehow the disgusting Target patrons who let their 12 yo daughters dress like Natalie Portman in Leon: The Professional are just funny here. The creepy cashiers I don't want talking to my kids just aren't as worrisome. The fact that their movies cost twice as much as Best Buy; I don't know, I don't care. They're wonderful. I highly recommend perusing the clearance sections. We find gems. We got a brand new wine rack for $40. Food stuffs can be had for nothing. They pay you to take stuff away before the season has even ended. Perhaps the strangest thing about this Target is that the employees seem almost glad to be alive unlike their sister and rival stores. This Target really is different than the others. read more

This target is awful I had an online order and there was only one person working in the customer service department and no one working until he online order area.. so I had to wait over ten minutes in the return line when I didn't even need to return anything. This is one if he worse targets I have even been. It's under staffed and I feel sorry for these workers who don't get help the company should be ashamed.. Went into Target last night and looked at the new I-phones needing to upgrade from my 6S. Kai was there to help with choosing the correct model and get it set up through Verizon. For whatever reason Verizon app they use to connect the phones and get them set up wasn't working as it usually does. Kai was so kind and kept with it until everything was working and the upgrade had gone through. After 2 1/2 hours everything was finally completed and never once did he get frustrated or say anything negative throughout the process. We appreciate his professionalism and endurance through out!! read more

Since I literally packed (while half asleep by the way) minutes before leaving for SoCal, there were a lot of things I forgot and had to buy. My first impression of this Target is that it's very large, clean, and well organized. The layout is very similar to the Target in Davis, CA (in NorCal), but this one seems larger. The staff were very friendly here. I was a bit concerned since I saw EMS vehicles in the front of the store upon arrival. A police officer was walking around a guy in handcuffs when I was paying for my things at the check out counter. Other than that, I had a great shopping experience here. read more

I have been to many Targets over the years and all over the country. I never thought I'd have to write a bad review...but this one deserves it! My wife and I moved to the area recently and we have stopped at this Target many times. They NEVER have what we are looking for, they are always understaffed with cashiers and the store is always a mess and with pallets of merchandise sitting around all day waiting to be stocked. Then, just today, I found an item I was hoping to purchase for a while and when I tried they told me they couldn't sell it to me! I understood that it was a manufacturer's mandate, but then why was it out on the shelf in the first place??? Basically, don't waste your time or effort at this store. We're happy to go over the hill and shop at the Target in Moorpark instead even though it's a bit of a drive for us! read more

This is my favorite Target location. The Thousand Oaks location off of Wendy Drive is always packed. The parking is horrible. Their stock is always low... because this place is so popular. Whenever I can't find something at Thousand Oaks Target or Moorpark Target, I come to this Simi location. The parking is ample and they always have stock here. Often times, I go to Costco in Simi, then drive down Madera to this Target, and then take Tierra Rejada to come home to Thousand Oaks. It saves a lot of time for me. Otherwise, I would have to go to Costco in Westlake and then drive to the Target in Thousand Oaks. That takes too much time. read more

This review is predominantly for the Optometrist and the Pharmacy Department. The Optometrist in house is wonderful! She is personable, patient, and considerate. The team at the Pharmacy are also great. They filled my prescription in 10 minutes from when I dropped it off. I appreciate seeing people work as hard as they do. read more
