Past few months I had noticed a decrease in quality of sleep and improper recovery mentally and physically. My old mattress I purchased over 10 years ago and has been great to me for so long; But as my therapist and chiropractor recommended, time to find new support. Next day we had our mattress delivered to our house! And after night 1 of sleep and day 1 of a nap I am so happy with our purchase! Absolutely!!! The place to go when looking to purchase the "right" bed for your individual needs. Andy at the Sleep Shoppe, is so knowledgeable. Pillows, mattresses, mattress covers, sheets. Ahhhh, so many items from which to choose.... He truly wants you to be satisfied with any purchase you make. He suggests different choices, but not to make a "sale", to make sure you understand the choices available to you. If his store doesn't stock an item, he will make calls and emails to find it for you. Andy asked if we ever thought about an adjustable mattress.... no, we never thought of having one. WARNING ABOUT THE SLEEP SHOPPE - NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AFTER PURCHASE. They don't even deserve 1 star. In Sept I purchased a bed from the Sleep Shoppe on Erringer. When I was in the store spending lots of money on my new bed I received great customer service. The nightmare began when they delivered my new bed and destroyed my retractable screen door. I found out the hard way that The Sleep Shoppe uses a delivery service, independent from them for all of their deliveries. The delivery service they use are completely incompetent and lack the basic furniture moving skills. The 2 delivery guys didn't have the strength to carry my 300lb bed frame over my front door threshold. They didn't have the common sense to lift the bedframe off the furniture mover dolly, so they dragged the dolly with the frame over my retractable screen door frame and destroyed it. I called The Sleep Shoppe to let them know about the damage and I expected them to fix or replace the door. I was brushed off by The Sleep Shoppe after spending a lot. They pushed me off on their delivery contractor and I haven't heard a word from The Sleep Shoppe again. it is now 11/18 and I am still without a screen door. I have gotten the run around by this company, I am not their customer so why should they care. They finally ordered and received my screen door and it was supposed to be installed the week of 11/11, I have heard nothing. I followed up for what feels like the millionth time, with no response. Yes, it is 2 months later, and I am still dealing with this. Bottom line...The Sleep Shoppe is eager to sell to you, but once they have collected your money, they are done with you. If you have no problems, you would never know how badly they treat their customers. I tell everyone I know not to purchase from them and what a nightmare I have had. It is with great pleasure that I award this mattress store all 5 stars because they truly deserve it... especially Andrew, our sales associate. I entered the store thinking we'll be in there 30 minutes tops, and I knew there was no way I wanted one of those Tempur-pedic mattresses, and we'll just take a quick spin around the store and see what's what. Wellllll, guess what..... a very relaxing, pleasant 3.5 HOURS later, we walked out having purchased one of those Tempur-pedic mattresses. Andrew was my favorite kind of sales associate. No pressure whatsoever, happy to offer information (and lots of it), and he even had a good sense of humor, which I always appreciate. He spent as much time with us as possible, yet he left us to speak independently of him, too. We ended up buying exactly what I thought I wouldn't want, one of those Tempur-pedic mattresses, but we also bought a "HYBRID" version, which felt perfect to me. We also bought one of their cooling mattresses, which DEFINITELY makes a difference especially for someone like me who is heat intolerant, and we purchased the adjustable kind of mattress, so we could raise our heads and/or feet if we want. I loved that option, especially as we're getting older. We may have taken a great deal of time to decide, but honestly, Andrew was quite thorough, and he wanted us to be 100% pleased with our decision... especially with as much money as we were about to spend. Let's just say that with as much time that had elapsed since our last mattress purchase, the price doubled. Not shocking, but still, a big hit to our savings. OUCH !! Unfortunately, we are still waiting for our mattress... through no fault of anyone's. The size we wanted was not readily available, of which we were informed up front, and thus, we'd have to wait a couple of weeks. I'm just impatient and want to get it already, but we agreed to wait, so wait, we will. Hopefully, it will arrive on the date listed on our order form. Fingers crossed. If you are in need of a mattress, come to this store. Andrew was absolutely wonderful with his knowledge on the different mattresses after finding out individual sleep requirements - mattress firmness, cooling etc. There was no rush to decide. Their price is definitely higher than tempurpedic website or discount warehouses but you do get great personal service at this local Simi Valley business. The 90 day trial period is standard for that manufacturer no matter where you buy it but it's a nice perk. My only negative was their "white glove delivery" which was less than expected especially with the higher mattress price. Positives were great customer service and store selection! Awkward. That kind of sums up my experience here. Yes, we did buy a mattress here. But, it wasn't that great of an experience. I mean, I wasn't looking for the shopping scene in 9 and 1/2 Weeks but I was looking for an enjoyable experience. Who sleeps on our bed? Me and my hubs. (OK, yes, there are a couple of cats too but they don't get a say in this.) So we BOTH went in here to purchase a bed together. Hey, I support local business but I also hate the Sit n' Sleep radio commercials so this place was my choice. Where was I? Oh yeah, we BOTH went in here to choose a bed together. A salesperson immediately approached to help us. We were cruising through the pillow-top options when my hubs got an important phone call. Being polite, he stepped outside to take it so he wouldn't disturb other shoppers. But, this is where things got weird. The salesperson kept asking me questions about what type of bed we were looking for and wanted specific answers and kept pushing and pushing. Finally, I had to just blurt out - "Look, back it up! My husband and I want to choose a bed together so we'll continue looking when he comes back from his phone call." I hate being brash but when someone gets so pushy... well geez, it just makes me push back. And, no, he still continued to ask me questions about when I wanted my bed delivered, etc. Do they work on commission here? My hubs finally returned and we were able to decide on a bed TOGETHER. And we do love our bed. But I hope salespeople know that sometimes when people are shopping together it's because they'd both like a say in their purchase - so please be mindful of that. Came with my Dad yesterday, as his mattress is about 20 yrs old. The man who helped us, didn't get his name, was very knowledgeable. My Dad had picked a extremely hard mattress, but i stay there sometimes so he wanted me to e happy too. We ended up going with a more pricey mattress that was firm but had some cush to it too. If you check in on yelp, you get two free pillows with the mattress purchase. Who doesn't like free??? Parking lot is small and can get cramped. The level of customer serviee is very very good.
