Dear Hubby has been super happy to learn of Mike's Clocks, especially. DH retired as a jeweler and watch enthusiast/dealer, and the love runs deep still. I was cleaning and found a unique acrylic-surround clock from the late 50s or early 60s that he'd forgotten about. He took it to Mike for cleaning and evaluation. In a couple days Mike called and said that cleaning and lubricating was all it needed. He gave tips for how to keep the movement safe (use it on a surge protector, as a power spike would likely fry the works). I fell into the rabbit hole of one of their crafty vendors who makes letter signs out of found metal objects. Creating a "J" out of a claw hook, topped with a bottle opener, fastened to a distressed piece of wooden board is an example of the craftiness. All of the pieces utilize things that might have been discarded as old, beat-up, possibly no longer useful. Their rag-tag appearance, when repurposed into new display pieces celebrates American manufacturing, back in its heyday. The hardware also reminds me of all the "pieces - parts" my grandfather used to collect in his garage. Nostalgia for days! We now own four of these small remnants of the past, but that may not be the end of it. The shop owners encourage diving into collecting the letters, by having displays spelling out "SPRING", "CELEBRATE", etc. Possibilities are endless! The various vendors do a wonderful job of freshening their spaces, keeping current with seasonal changes. Some of the accent furniture is repurposed, having undergone a milk paint treatment. Great prices, friendly staff. Keep a sharp eye out for treasures, lest another shopper snag one before you do!

I updated my rating to reflect the end result. ** I paid for white glove delivery service and can't get them to deliver my sofa! received a notification that my sofa was at the local warehouse on May 3rd and have been trying to schedule the delivery for two weeks. The carrier won't commit to a delivery day despite the fact that the delivery deadline is past due. I already donated my current sofa so I would be prepared for the May 15th deadline. Now, they are saying I need to pay $100/week for storage of a sofa I have been chasing for weeks to have delivered and they won't deliver until it's paid! Pure fraud. Customer service is useless and the carrier is a scam. I paid in full and can't get my item!

Ahhhh, so many items from which to choose.... He truly wants you to be satisfied with any purchase you make. He suggests different choices, but not to make a "sale", to make sure you understand the choices available to you. If his store doesn't stock an item, he will make calls and emails to find it for you. Andy asked if we ever thought about an adjustable mattress.... no, we never thought of having one. After seeing the advantages, and the lower than expected cost, we did purchase one. So happy with it! We WILL always go to The Sleep Shoppe for our "sleep" needs.
