In the process of furnishing a couple of guest bedrooms. I visited a couple of other mattress stores and felt totally lost. The salespeople could have been better at guiding a customer who knew very little about mattresses in the right direction. Enter Steve, the owner of 805 Mattresses Pros. He explained the various products that he sells and the benefits of each of them. He took time to go through everything and by the time I was done I knew exactly what I wanted to get for the rooms. The store itself is kind of off of the main streets in Simi Valley but easy enough to find. He has a good selection of mattresses that are priced much lower that the other stores that I visited. It's really hard to justify spending over $5000 on a mattress for a guest bedroom which seemed to be the starting price of a decent mattresses at the other stores. read more

After a few days spent visiting a bunch of big chain mattress stores, I decided to drive up to Simi based on the excellent reviews. Steve, the owner, listened to my preferences and had me try about half a dozen different mattresses. He's incredibly knowledgeable not only about all the major brands, but also about the materials that go into the mattresses. He's friendly, no pressure and completely honest about his experiences in the mattress business. I ended up buying a mattress from Steve that day, one which was more comfortable and better built than ones costing twice the price at the big chain stores I'd visited. Steve works directly with local manufacturers; my mattress was built on 7/2 and delivered on 7/5, the day after the 4th of July holiday. I paid cash and got an additional discount, plus delivery and removal of my old mattress and foundation. Overall, I highly recommend this business. I'm going to bump them up from 2 stars to 3 only because I did receive the mattress. The strange thing was that the owner called and said that he couldn't make out of one of the digits in my phone number and that's why he couldn't call me. Then he said that the driver told him he did come out to my address but some man told him he didn't order a mattress. I guess they went to the wrong address. Not sure why because my address was correct on the paperwork. When the driver finally came back today, he even told me that he remembered me from my previous purchase. The whole thing was just weird. Not sure what to think. Anyways, it's not like we didn't have a mattress to sleep on so not a huge deal. Went in today after reading the reviews and met Steve. He was very helpful and had my daughter lay on a few different mattresses. He told us where they were from and they way they were made and the differences between them. His prices were reasonable and we were in and out with a new full size mattress set in about 30 minutes. I was able to get the mattress in the back of my Mazda CX-9 and he was nice enough to tie the box spring to the top of my car. We came here expecting mattress shopping to be difficult, and walked out just 30 minutes later feeling great! There was no pressure on sales, the salesman gave advice when we asked but was never pushy, and there were tons of different beds to try out. This is THE BEST-experience I have EVER had purchasing a mattress. Before I ever went to the location I spoke with the owner Steve. Without any prompting he gave me a education on mattresses. He was so knowledgeable. He answered every question I had. I was really sold on an mattress made of all natural materials and because I suffered from a long ago injury to my neck and back so the right mattress was extremely to me. I wake up in pain everyday. I have been sleeping on air mattresses because they contour to the shape of my body to give me the most comfort. I then made up my mind to get a waterbed with the tubes as my chiropractor thought this would help me. By chance I went to the Thousand Oaks store. The lady there was extremely helpful and neither store tried to pressure us into a purchase. Steve explained to me that the mattress my daughter and I wanted to purchase was discontinued and recommended another brand with the gel and pillow top. Once we laid down on it I couldn't get my daughter to get out of the bed. She's 28yrs old and works out a lot so she stays sore. When we got our mattresses it was the best sleep we had had in over 5yrs. Amazing! The delivery guys Amazing and fast!! We didn't get to see Steve but Roy was Amazing too.
