This is a TARGET that is different than your regular ones just by how much smaller it is than a usual locations. The parking is shared with many other businesses like DOLLAR TREE, T -Mobile , TOGO's and a brand new 7-11. However once stepping inside it's just like any other target with a Starbucks, self checkout and very clean . The humble beach city of Santa Cruz doesn't have a TARGET but there is one in Capitola Mall a 2 story target a few miles down south. I assume a lot of people driving the don't know about this target because you can't see it from highway 17. Even the Mt Hermon exit doesn't advertise any of the businesses on the freeway like any type of billboards , high way signs ... NO. I guess they wan to keep the small town charm and keep the beach tourists flowing past their 2 highway exits. As you know target has everything and this small town is lucky to have one downtown and it's a gem and shopper convenience and for college students it has everything you need. read more

Love going to Target, but hate having to deal with the customer service. I was super excited that a Target was going to open up down the street from my house. Ever since they opened, all the employees seem like they hate working there are just simply don't care. I always do self check out, but even then the employees who are suppose to greet or say bye don't even bother. There are always pallets in the aisles cause the workers are hiding to text on their phones or just talking to each other. I only go here because it's convenient, but the employees always make me upset when leaving the store. read more

I bought JBL headphones at Target and they had a year warranty on them. They stopped working on me a little over a year of having them. I couldn't return them because it was just past the warranty. read more

Every time I come here there's no carts!! Even when they open. They're all in the parking lot waiting for employees to bring them in. I've seen them standing around not doing anything. Please bring the carts in so we can shop!!! read more

Stopped shopping here a while ago due to always having expired goods and after telling some workers they sounded upset they had to do there job I went yesterday to grab 4 items usually I check the dates but was in a rush I got a ham steak expired in July 19th I take my kids there to get toy cars and such they won't restock for 3 months at a time. It feels like laziness. I give 2 stars because the amazing service I get from the employees Helena and her star bucks crew kills it always has great conversations and positive energy same as the 2 security guards and Nathaniel the stocker always helps me going out of his way to find anything. Last is the checker Colter super respectful it feels like more of a friend then a worker. read more

3.5 I have been patiently awaiting this brand spankin new target for forever it seems. This used to be a Kmart that went out of business and was just an empty husk for awhile. In the mountains there are like zero places to pick up essential items like socks or sheets etc so it's opening has been all the buzz. To be honest I wanted to review this location better but it definitely has some negatives. For one, it's very small. Before it opened I was already assuming the parking lot would be a nightmare - and it is. I'm hoping this will improve as the hubbub dissipates. Targets are always busy so I don't know. Due to the size, the selection is definitely limited. I'm talking two tiny aisles for shoes. *sobs*. They have a Starbucks and a CVS inside like most targets, and while I get that's on brand for them, one stop shop and all, there are both of those shops literally in the same parking lot and across the street. I wish they would have used that space for more inventory. One thing I did really like is the expanded self check out stations. This is the most self check outs I've ever seen at a target. I'm happy it is here for the essentials and quick stop by's, but I'll likely continue my trek to capitola for the full experience. read more

Food on the shelves is perpetually expired--in every section. Hummus, salad dressing, cookies...I stopped buying food here because it's the only place I know I need to check every expiration date on every item to make sure it's still good read more

I am super glad this target finally opened. Now I don't have to drive all the way to the one on 41st. This store is on the smaller size but well organized. There is also a Starbucks in there which I'm glad because we lack starbucks stores in this area because 4 starbucks stores in a 200 yard radius is not enough. On the opening day there was absolutely no parking spots available but I hope in few days or so we won't have to deal with no parking spots and crazy traffic at that intersection. Also, I did not see any electric car chargers which is weird since they remodeled the whole shopping center. Although if you need to charge your car there are a couple chargers in the shopping center next to it by the drive thru starbucks. There are 6 self checkout registers which makes checking out easier and quicker. They also have a drive up for picking up your online orders. All in all having a target 7 mins from my house is great. read more

I am going to give it 3 stars just because it's clean and pleasant to be in. But honestly this place needs to close, we don't want to keep it open for Starbucks sake. I am pretty sure there are 2-3 other coffee shops nearby. The shelves are empty and the choices are super limited. I keep trying to support it, but I have not been able to find what i need (went about 5 times) I can't believe i am saying it, but KMart was better. That tells you. I will keep trying though, i like the parking lot and the quietness of the half empty store :) Oh, and the people are nice, when they have to tell you they are out of this and that, they do it with grace read more

I love shopping at Target. But, the customer service here at this Target is less to be desired! We asked for help in cosmetics, (locked portion) waited, and waited, and waited.... no one showed up. In a previous review, I read, yes! They are all high school kids it seems, who do not care. Well, they care....for payday. The selection is not too bad, I have been shopping more and more online, and I find a lot more deals online. Fast delivery, no dealing with bad customer service, and I get what I want. The only best customer service I have had at this Target was at their Starbucks. Every time I leave the store, the staff at this Starbucks are always friendly, smiling, and act like they are happy to be of service to you! Maybe the Target employees need to get some tips on good customer service from the Starbucks baristas! read more

Racist employees! Once I walked inside I was followed by security to the baby section. I only came to buy baby foods and security kept following me until I got to the self checkout. After I paid and got my receipt I was approached with being asked to check my receipt and my bag. read more

I've also experienced multiple times where they've had no cashiers at any check out lanes, but the person supervising the self check out would let me check out there because I had more than 10 items. I think this is a solid 4-stars. Facilities are clean and they have the essentials. Is this a SUPER/MEGA/ENORMOUS target? Nope. Are they still working out operational/logistic quirks? Yup. But at 10:30 PM on a Thursday night, it had all of the stuff I needed (including items that other target locations were out of). I waited 20 minutes in the electronic department trying to purchase a streaming device. No one was willing to help me. I even asked one of the workers if I could purchase a Roku streaming device and they said yes but no one came to help me there was no one in the store so I doubt they were to busy . A few heads up that might help visitors: their system is not set up to take WIC cards yet, and their women's bathroom only has 2 stalls and is cramped. They're constantly restocking at the moment so some aisles are tough to maneuver. However, I had a pretty good experience outside of that. Overall the place is pretty tidy and nice. I tried calling customer service yesterday to see if they had the product I was looking for and the girl that answered the phone was the rudest person I've ever had to deal with. She immediately interrupted me and told me she had no idea what I was talking about. OK, that's fine, but can you look it up? It was their Blogilates weights, that every store carries, and instead of nicely asking me how to spell it, she just kept saying Blogiwhat? I don't know what that is. Compared to the Capitola Target, I have to say this one is an improvement despite its small size. I never see empty shelves, everything is always stocked up which is a very important factor for me. It's sparking clean and has much less foot traffic as well. As someone else pointed out, it's interesting that they chose to put a Starbucks inside an already small store considering there's one in the parking lot already. They definitely could've used that for more merchandise space. It's a very small store so the selection is limited on home goods and kitchen stuff, but there's a normal variety of cosmetics, clothing, and food and I've never walked out without finding what I'm looking for. My only criticism is the layout. I find myself running around the store looking at aisle signs and still getting frustrated and unable to find what I need. The giant clothing section in the middle separates the store in a weird way in my opinion, but I do appreciate the variety! read more

Specifically the Scotts Valley location: One star is the lowest you can do and write a review, I rate this location 2 stars because the employees are not to blame. The employees are just innocent people who needed a job. The problem here is Target choosing to place a store in a location which cannot fulfill customer expectations. It is a form of bate and switch. Chances are you get an idea of what Target has to offer through print, television or online AND through personal experiences at most other locations. The problem here is that this building is too small so the inventory is limited and because they seem to consider that their placing any form of Target here is a convenience they charge extra high prices for that convenience. A lot of traffic passes through on Mt Hermon heading into Felton and Boulder Creek so they have the potential customers. I know Scotts Valley and many of its residents were involved in resisting a larger store. It is not entirely Target's fault but the higher prices certainly do rest on Target's shoulders. So expect to pay more and don't expect to find what you are looking for at this location. It looks nice, even a little nicer than typical Targets but it is maybe 30% the size of average Targets and the inventory/selection suffers for it. Ironically, being smaller and having less of everything they do carry makes many things harder to find when they do have it in stock. read more

Used self serve when buying a jacket as gift. After getting home I realized the "theft prevention" tag was still attached. Alarm did NOT go off when leaving store. Now I need to make special trip to have it removed. Called customer service desk, gave up after thirty rings. Tried website at bottom of reciept, it claims the ID/pw combo on receipt is false so won't allow me to complain. Did NOT want to be going to SV tomorrow, thanks target for ruining my Sunday through employee incompetence. read more

It's clean and new but selections are limited. I've gone in twice and both times left empty handed because they didn't have what I was looking for. Kitchen offerings are basically non existent, boys clothing has one rack, why bother? Food items were very understocked both times. read more
