Saturday morning I got word of a surprise birthday party; got ready and rushed over to Bath & Body…read moreWorks. There just as soon as the store opened for business. Learned it was a great sale happening on the moisturizer body lotions!!! I was greeted by the sales team and received help in selecting my lotions. I requested 2 small bags and used it as my gift bag for the birthday party. I recommend Bath and Body Works for any occasions that come up in your life (items for Men as well). Try a product for yourself.

Even though you're encouraged to sign up for the rewards program with a phone and email, there is no way to pull up the transaction history on the mobile app or apparently on the register when you enter your phone number. I wanted to exchange a shampoo and conditioner purchased 15 days ago. The employees were apologetic and let me know I needed to have an ID to scan to complete the exchange if I didn't have the paper receipt. I thanked them, left and called the customer care number at the bottom of the website. The fellow on the phone also offered apologies and a 20% off coupon. I asked what would happen if I wasn't happy with the purchase I made with the coupon? Would I run into the same problems if I wanted to return that? It would be nice if Bath and Body Works updated their rewards system to include digital receipts the same way Target, Ulta, Best Buy, Macys, Kohls, Sephora, Hot Topic, and literally every store ever does. I will mention is I worked at the same Bath and Body Works about ten years ago and we took returns for just about any reason with no fuss. I get that policies and management changed but I wish they would go back that system. It is a fun store and again this isn't a dig at the employees but because this wasted so much of my time I wont be shopping here anymore.

Really liked this shop! From the eclectic blend of reasonably-priced merchandise to the friendly…read moreservice. I did read the reviews of the store in Carmel - wowzers. I did not experience the level of horrible customer service that Yelpers complained about at this location. I bought a fun scarf - kind of like a cheap knock off of the striped Missoni-style scarves. They were only $7.50! Acrylic of course. Great spot to buy a unique souvenir or a gift for someone. Highly recommend!

There is a surface lot a block (off of Monterey) away that has all the same problems as the street parking. Generally speaking I like the odds that the lot behind the police station offers, but in peak tourist season you'd best plan ahead for parking. This is a medium ish sized store very typical in layout for the shops that line this block close to the beach. The entrance faces the street, and the stock is laid out through the store with the cashier at the back. It will seem narrow but isn't really. The stock falls into mid range giftables. It's not a super expensive spot where you can blow 500 dollars on a purse but is the kind of spot where you can pick up a decent clutch for 40 bucks or so. Most of the items fall into the home décor category with a mild beach theme. There are inspirational books, wine accessories, all sorts of beach gear, light clothing, candles, leather craft goods, cups, and yes magnets because of course there are. Overall it's a reliable source of better quality gifts then you'll find elsewhere on the esplanade, the kind of things that won't embarrass you when you get home.

After reading previous review reviews, I was a little apprehensive, walking in knowing what many others had experienced with their customer service. I will say when I walked in there was somebody who promptly greeted me and my husband, when we walked in and made some small talk. As we peruse the store, I did experience a little of what other people were saying as the employee seemed to keep popping up to chat with us as we per the store. I can understand why some customers may think that it may come off as the employees are watching you while you shop. I don't think that was what was happening at all. I think they were trying to definitely just be more friendly and welcoming, but I think they do need to tone down how many times they pop up while you are walking around the store. All of the items they have to offer are a fabulous quality and definitely a great spot to pick up gifts for others. When I'm in the area, I will definitely pop in and shop again.

The price point is expensive but expected at a small boutique store such as this. I could spent hours in here looking at all of the different items. My friend was coming in to exchange an item or swap it out for another item. After shopping around and finding another jacket that she liked we inspected the jacket because it was white and we wanted to make sure it was free of damage. We came across black marks on all of these white jackets and brought it up to an employee at the front. They attempted to clean it with a paper towel and maybe water? But unfortunately no luck. They mentioned that she could try to clear it with upholstery cleaner after she purchased it but at the price point of over $100 my friend decided to pass. She ended up returning her item and receiving store credit. The reason for my 3/5 rating is due to the expensive clothing being stained and the awkward exchange. Overall, I would come back and give this place a chance when in need of a unique gift.

I hate summer and…read moreI hate hot weather, but it was really nice to not have to drive Gavin to and from school and dealing w/ his football. We took a random Friday off just to have lunch in Capitola. We were early and was undecided on where to eat, so we walked around and landed in this cute gem of local boutique. I help pledge/donate to help dogs/puppies get pulled from the euthanasia list, but I cannot foster and adopt dogs/puppies now. My schedule, my finances, and overall place of living does not allow it, so I put 110% of my effort and free time into donating, volunteering, and fostering cats/kittens. I have fostered 22 kittens/cats. I have Adam (own rescue efforts), Alfred, and Myla that's not included in the total yet. So I'm basically crazy cat lady, so when finding this pair of earrings was fate that I knew I had to purchase even though I did not think I would be purchasing anything because we were just exploring to kill time before the restaurant opens. I'm so glad we came in. Service was warm and prices are fair - come support your local shops! I used to live less than a mile away from here... I do miss living up here.

Every piece is uniquely made and fairly priced; I can't emphasize this enough. We left happy with every purchase and looking forward to coming back in the future.
