Totally online/phone experience. I can't say enough good things about this place. I was looking for a specific bracelet. The online search terms bring up a lot of irrelevant info bc it's named after an insect. So I narrow my search and find what I'm looking for. I had to call to verify bc I had a bad experience with another online transaction with another company. I wish I could remember who I spoke with. She was so nice! She verified she had what I was looking for & I told her I would order online later in the day (my lunch hour was ending). She said she would set it aside (going the extra mile!). I ended up calling back bc it was getting late & I didn't want her to think I was blowing her off. She ended up taking my order over the phone and was able to locate some other pieces I was looking for. I said "no rush" on the shipping bc I didn't need it for Christmas. I actually received it on 12/24 with a "happy birthday" note on my receipt. Really great buying experience & I received my beautiful bracelet in time for my birthday. I absolutely LOVE this shop! It was hard to not spend all my money so I had to stop myself but I plan to come back next time I am in town. My friend from Germany was visiting and I wanted to take her to Capitola. We stumbled upon this super cute store that (as others mentioned) has a wide variety of items ranging from jewelry, trinkets, art, ceramics... many more! I picked up this super cute hand made bowl. Price point in this store varies quite a bit but that's the appeal. There's something for everyone here. For reference, I got this handmade bowl for $12 and that hand blown glass pen for $22. The pen is so awesome! The best part is I can easily replace the insides with another cheapo Bic pen. I was worried it was a special insert I needed but the artist was genius by making it a standard bic! Shout out to the lovely lady that sat and chatted with me and my friend! She was so pleasant and sweet. At the front desk, they have so many cute little items there too. I grabbed a little wishing gnome for the new year. read more

This is a very nice store with lots of items to choose from. The Craft Gallery has a lot of beautiful handmade jewelry, rings and beautiful art pieces from local artist. I loved the mermaid statue as well as the jellyfish made out of clay... The sea glass jewelery was very unique and I met the artist. Her work is stunning. The Craft Gallery is a great little gift shop in Capitola that is filled with unique gifts for any hard-to-buy for friends or family. It's treasures range from the beautiful crafts of local artists, vintage-style cigarette or card holders, hand-made jewelry, candles, nick-knacks, and more. This is the type of place you're lucky to find as a tourist and lucky to have if you have a boyfriend like mine... I first found the shop a year ago and loved it so much that I remembered an item they had and went back to get it for said bf for Valentine's Day this year. Though it doesn't have many things for me that I ca remember, their pit and pendulum that uses kinetic energy to carve patterns in sand is very cool! He set it up in his office and already, one of his co-workers went down to buy one. Guys love it. I love it. Thank-you craft gallery... Also, the nice lady who was patient with me when trying to decide on a medium or large pendulum and if it should be wood or chrome... thanks. And thanks for wrapping it for free in the beautiful but masculine paper... and the cool blue and gold ribbon. (I decided on a large chrome pendulum, even though it was 50$ more. I'm glad I did!) And the last thing... a lot of other things on the street were closed. Thank-you for being open. I wasn't sure if this was the place I went to, or the other address. In looking at the Google street view, this was the place I went to, after Thanksgiving, and before lunch at Zelda's. In here, you will find lots of odds and ends from some local artists. Want ceramic light switch covers in a beach scene? Got them. Want clay figurines of turtles surfing on long boards? Got that too. I liked a lot of the wind chimes, especially the ones with the long tubes that make the deepest, resonating sound. Lots of paintings of beach scenes are available too, presumably from local artists. Various lotions and aromatics are for sale too. If you're stuck, and can't find a good gift for somebody, chances are you will find something here. Don't bother trying to find parking on the street. Stick to the lot on the hill above the police department and town hall. Like anything else in Capitola, it's going to cost you. read more

What a wonderful place. Every turn in the store brought new items to examine. Lots of made in the USA (YEAH!) or even more locally made (CA) items. My sis-in-law bought two wonderful pairs of earrings. I fell in the love with the kissing salt and pepper shakers. Yes- kissing S&P- magnets keep the shakers together. Kissing dogs, snuggling lovebirds, cats, and many more. Great for a small housewarming gift or anniversary gift. Everything from a few dollars to a fab drusy bracelet for $350. read more

The Craft Gallery's mother-daughter team deserves every honor they've received for public service to the local community and for support of American artisans for 40 years! This is THE place to go if you want something you cannot find at the mall. Even under pressure the staff is always friendly, and they can actually tell you about the artist who made the item you're interested in. There's not a piece of jewelry made in China in the whole place. I've been shopping at the Craft Gallery for about 30 years and I've never been sorry. Craft gallery is a great place with a wonderful selection of jewelry. The city that it's in however, stinks. Before you decide to go visit, read up on the reviews for Capitola city. The gifts are all decently priced but you'll end up spending way more than you bargained for in parking citations because of their ridiculous, money hungry parking enforcement. I would give 0 stars if I could Spent the day at the beach yesterday with my husband and my two sons and decided to check out the shops on our way to the beach parking lot. My older son, 12 wanted to buy a souvenir, which he does whenever we go somewhere new. My husband stayed outside with our things, and I took the boys in. It was probably around 6pm. We were in there all of about 15 seconds when a woman behind the counter, short blonde hair, loudly started complaining about us. I honestly do not remember her exact words, but she was not happy that we walked into her store as she could tell we just came from the beach. My sons had sand on their feet (they were wearing sandals) and I likely did as well. She made a big show about how she had "JUST vacuumed", and "I am going to pretend I don't see what I am seeing" since they "have sand on their feet" all while leaning down on the counter and clasping her hands on her face. I have never been more embarrassed in my life. I promptly told my children that we were leaving and would find another store to shop in. I would think that having store, just steps from the beach, that they would be used to sandy feet, and having to vacuum quite often. And in all honesty, their feet were barely sandy! Her behavior was appalling, and when talking about our day in Capitola I will be sure to let others I know about this store and their unfriendly staff. I hope she is happy with ruining my sons souvenir shopping experience too. He was so disappointed. UPDATE - The owner reached out to me to apologize and the apology was accepted. After writing my review, I read others and they were all amazing. My experience seems to be a rare occurrence at this store. I will definitely give the store another chance when visiting Capitola next time. They did seem to have some really cute stuff from what I could tell in the brief time I was in there. PS and no I was not asked to amend or update my review. I'm doing so because the apology was appreciated. read more

My girlfriend and I happened to be in the area one weekend taking a stroll through the neighborhood. I had been looking for a present for my dads birthday and I had no idea what to get him. Fortunately we stumbled into this little shop. As we were looking around, Aleen welcomed us and showed us around the store.
