TARGET RULES BECAUSE IT HAS CHEAPER PRICES THAN ANYWHERE ELSE.
Necessities I no longer purchase anywehre else BUT Target:
1. Airborne (about 2 bucks cheaper than wallgreens)
2. Carmex (I think it was just 99c)
3. Shampoo, Conditioner, etc.
Well, I've been coming to this target ever since they tore down Fashion Island. Recently, Target has undergone a whole new total makeover... everywhere. Check out their new shopping baskets. Do they feel more comfy? (my cool boyfriend Terence K. pointed this out, and i'm probably going to steal his thunder). Look at the basket when you visit. Pick it up. The baskets are peanut shaped. They're not a regular rectangle, because when you walk and carry stuff, the basket... always hits your legs. think about it. When you carry your old basket, doesnt it also sway? Pick up these new baskets, and see that it won't sway. The handlebars lock in place until you put your basket down. The handles will automatically fall back into place, so you can put your items in.
Supposedly the new Target layout is supposed to be.. unconfusing. If you noticed, when you walk into the target store, the aisles are placed vertically, EXCEPT for a few in the middle, which are placed horizontally. The philosophy of the store layout is supposedly... when you go to one aisle, theres always something right next to it that you might need. So, target basically wants you to start in one section of the store, and youll find yourself on the other side..like magic! Well, I think the aisle in the middle is to keep shoppers from making the quick escape to go to the checkout registers. It will make you walk even further, and give you a possibility of purchasing something else. Tricky, scheming, but true... and the layout is quite confusing. We have to go all the way around the store just to get to the toys...because TK is a big fan. ;)
So I purchased shampoo & conditioner...and an "add-on" at Rite Aid earlier today. Well, i stopped by longs first to see if they had any hair products I wanted. I left in a second because they had a poor selection. so At rite aid...Geez, I swear I bought that brand before,a nd thought it would be around $5 a bottle. Instead, it was between $8-9 dollars a bottle. What the heck! Whatever, I needed shampoo, I had like a drop left. So, guess what. We went to target on a whim, decided to check out the price for the shampoo here... (i'm trying to get the best bang for my buck right now, i'm not the richest student anymore. crap for that) and.... My prediction for $5 a bottle was unbelievable. voila, there laid all the bottles, right there in front of me. $8 for double the size. DOUBLE. The downside was that whoever did the stocking, stocked the shelves with like... ALL "step 3, leave in conditioner " and lacked "step 1 shampoo" and "step 2 conditioner". I was pretty disappointed there wasn't enough of the larger size, but I suppose it is also the company's fault. The bottles look almost identical.
All I can say, is that Target and Walmart rule the world, (literally), and the small drug stores aren't so hot anymore. Support Target and its cheaper prices! read more
