We were looking for affordable gifts for many people -- mostly fun stuff, including gifts for White Elephant. We heard about Five Below and wanted to try it out because we were in the area. We don't know what to expect. To be honest, upon entering, it felt like a poor man's Temu, and it was really busy and chaotic. However, the more we browsed the more we discovered a lot of solid gifts! Especially for kids and stocking stuffers. And the prices were very low as advertised. A SpongeBob ukulele for the price of a latte was a steal. We were helped by one associate, Priyanka, who was friendly and went the extra mile for us, despite the frenzy of kids and Christmas shoppers. We initially had reservations but got what we needed and left happy! Not going to find refined gifts here, but for kids and small fun gifts -- it's actually quite perfect. If i could rated this 5 below a zero star I would. Every single time I go to this specific Five Below store. I remember why I vow to not shop there ever again. They have more than six self checkout registers. But keep one open and make the employee scan all of your items and then the employee waits and stares at your card and wait for you to put your pin in. Very uncomfortable and inconvenient. For that specific reason, I do not return to this specific five below. this specific time, the whole aisle was closed off because an employee was "stocking". We asked if we could go in the aisle and she said yeah it is closed off. very inconvenient and seems pointless to close off a whole aisle at 12 noon. read more

Horrible management at this location! This manager was scolding her team member on the floor during a busy time at the store. A professional manager would pull their team members on the side to have a conversation away from everyone and not next to the line where everyone standing in line is listening. Corporate needs to retrain their leadership team. read more

I want to give a giantttttt shout out to Risela- the manager! This new dumpling craze has been insane with giant lines and she has managed the whole situation so well and with great professionalism. Finally a Five Below on the Peninsula. Looks like most things are $5 or below per the name. I'm not too sure about the electronics and some other stuff lasting all that long but fun if you want to browse and pick up a few tchotchkes for the house. I picked up the Riza Hawkeye Funko and some makeup. A lot of the makeup is similar to what I'd see in a Dollar Tree (e.g. LA Girl) so perhaps some of this stuff might be slightly over priced for what it is ($3-$4 vs $1.25)? They also had some travel sized goodies so I picked up a Method body wash for the road for $3. They have self check out in front. Oddly half the of the registers were closed though... read more

Finally, Five Below has graced the Peninsula and it was everything I've expected and more. Located in the Bridgepointe shopping center, it's right next to Petco and there is plenty of parking for all. Like the name indicates, everything seemed to be $5 and under which makes the budget friendly heart quite happy, although there were a few select items that are $5.55. All items seemed to be properly marked with the price. They have everything ranging from stationary, gym, and make up. Their candy section is also very impressive and they have a "make your own" candy bag station. Similar to how Target makes me feel, I feel like Five Below tells me what I need. They also have licensed anime and Sanrio themed items. It really is a little bit of something for everyone kind of place. I made it out of the store without buying anything, but there was a few times I was enticed and I can see myself going a little crazy here. read more

I had a very uncomfortable and unsettling experience at this Five Below. While using the self-checkout, the screen prompted me to answer whether I had been greeted upon entering. I hadn't, so I selected "No." Right after, I turned around to leave and realized that a male employee had been standing directly behind me, watching me the entire time I checked out--clearly to see how I answered that question. He immediately confronted me in front of other customers, aggressively insisting that he greets everyone and that he did greet me. His tone was aggressive and defensive, and it felt like he was trying to embarrass or intimidate me for simply answering a routine question honestly. It was completely unprofessional, made me feel targeted and uncomfortable, and turned a simple shopping trip into a very negative experience. I will not be returning to this store. read more

Every time I make an online order for pickup, they end up cancelling my order. They've even marked my order as "picked up" instead of cancelling it. I never picked it up. They never even got the order ready, they were just trying to scam me. I almost didn't get a refund because they marked the order "picked up" even though they didn't get my order ready. I had to talk to customer service for HOURS to let them know I didn't pick up my order since I was out of town. I made an order for pickup yesterday and they just cancelled it again. This is the 3rd time this year. The items were still in stock in the store and online. They're lazy and fraudulent. The registers are ALL self-service. So the employees have plenty of time to get your pickup orders together, but still they'd rather just stand around doing nothing and cancel orders when they're too lazy to grab an item off the shelf. read more

They really got a whole heck of alot of things here. I kinda don't wanna say how cool this place is because I'm afraid the next time I visit it'll be cleaned out. My kids love the dry freeze candy (thanks a lot TikTok) and there's a variety to choose from not just skittles. I like coming during the holidays, they sell seasonal things that are really cute. Service is what it is, I swear I see the same women every time no matter what time of day it is. She's very friendly and will give us the scoop on when items arrive. Prices are low, perfect for Christmas shopping or shopping spree for a kid. We travel from Pacifica and we don't tell people about our little gem. read more

First of all what is not to like about this store concept!?! Nearly everything is $5 or less. A few things are more but probably because they are a nicer quality products usually in the housewares area. I love to gift shop here because I won't go broke. Cool graphic tees, home decor, character toys and plushies including Squishmallows, movie posters. books, journals, art supplies, phone accessories, makeup, pet stuff (toys, beds, dishes), workout gear (weights, yoga mats, water bottles, basket balls etc.), holiday decor, fun candy, snacks and much more. The staff is awesome and always super helpful. Yesterday I asked one of the young ladies about bubble solution and she went in the back and found me 3 large bottles. I wish I had asked her name so i could thank her here and then I did get Hunter's name who works at the checkout area. So nice and even engaged in small talk while helping me. He let me take the basket out to the car to unload those bubbles and helped me return it back. Go and see for yourself. There's something for everyone here. read more

Why? WHY? WHY?! Who in the name of god came up with the concept of this god forsaken store? Is it like Daiso? No. Is it Party City? Kinda. Somebody decided to take the concept from Dollar General, multiply it by five, make it blue, and then make it a store. I have enough crap in my house already, I do NOT need any more of this junk! There's pillows with bright, purple sequin on it, there's weird Halloween masked at the entrance of the store, and there's ugly plushies everywhere. I'm not even mad about it, frankly, I'm amused. There's a bunch of kids running around playing with the stuff. This place is just a worse, more expensive version of Party City. I've shopped here a few times since they opened a few months ago and I heard good things about this store on the East Coast. But a bit disappointed in this location. Prices rang up differently than the stickers price and the cashier was rude about having to manually change the price. On top of that I was using the self checkout and the cashier automatically fills out the customer survey that pops up on the screen. I saw that they do it for every transaction regardless if they are helping you or not! So wrong! read more

Instead it seems alike a mish·mash of merchandise - with the majority of the store devoted to candy, toys and cosmetics.... There was a tech corner but it seemed to only have things like charge cords and (really) cheap quality headphones. There's a lot of junk items imo but might be good if you're looking for party goodie bags or something, but definitely not somewhere where you can expect to get quality items (obviously with everything under $5). I really, really don't like writing reviews like this but I left this store feeling so awful that I feel like this is my only course of action. As a tattooed working class person I am aware that I don't look like the ideal customer. I get it. I worked in retail for a long time and I know when somebody is being watched/is a suspected thief and I felt it as soon as I walked in and started browsing. Loss prevention came out, hovered in the area I was in, and when I got to the registers I *wasn't allowed to use the self checkout*. This is what sent me over the edge. Somebody rushed up and insisted on doing it for me, scanning all my items one by one while I just stood there, absolutely humiliated, watching. To say I felt like I was being treated like a criminal is an understatement. They decided I was guilty the second I walked in those doors and I'll do them a favor by making sure I never walk in those doors again. And to the store management: if this is some kind of weird store policy, you NEED to put some signage up stating so. I have never felt so horrible shopping somewhere in my life. Very Rude Employees and Messy Store if you ask me!!! Idk why this is a rule to this five below store, but I was literally looking at the keychain section and then someone was stocking on that area. Then, another very rude lady told me " the keychains are off limits right now because they are working on it". Can someone tell me why we can't look at one section of the store if they are stocking it? This was my first time going into any FiveBelow store and after walking in, it will definitely be my last. The store was such a mess. Once I walked in I noticed a banana peel dried up on the ground. There were wrappers all over the floor and fixtures knocked over. I went in yesterday to return some sneakers that I bought. It was coming apart after a month of wear and the heavy set woman was very rude to me. She said I already used the sneakers, and that what would I expect for only $5.00 sneakers. I never had sneakers come apart after a month of wearing it. I claimed that it was defective and asked to speak with a manager and she said I couldn't speak to a manager because he was off duty. She kept saying how it was so cheap and this is what is expected.
