This Target recently got some "work done", and as they say on the Upper East Side of Manhattan (lowers voice to stage whisper): It was NOOOOOT. GOOOOOOOOD. This is a hideous exercise of plastic (and I do mean plastic) surgery gone horribly awry. Stone Phillips should come and do an expose on this little botch-job. They expanded this store in the back and also enclosed the area that used to be the garden center, which is now gone. With all the extra space, some corporate genius decided to start moving shit around. Now there's a vast clothing area on your right when you come in, and the store is bisected parallel to the front by a new aisle and a big wall. Now I can't find anything! All the kitchen stuff has shifted around, or at least it feels like it has. With all the extra space, the toiletries and health and average-looking supplies (in my case they can't be called beauty supplies) should have a fabulous new showcase. Instead, they feel orphaned and the whole section seems smaller. There seems to be a new overabundance of disposable diapers. Instead of your basic circuit with an aisle that bisects the store running front to back, there's a confusing grid of merchandise. My habit-addled brain comes in all wired up for some impulse buying, but I find myself shuffling out 30 minutes later empty handed and morose. I just don't like this layout. Happens every time: I go in for a Sharpie two-pack ($1) and some post-its, come out with $150 worth of "things I need". Blame it on the bright white walkways, which intensely reflect ceiling lights, thus creating a crisper, cleaner store. Or blame it on the guest designer team-up collections (curse you, Missoni and Jason Wu!). Maybe blame it on the John Derian collaboration melamine dinnerware from years past. Or blame it on the $1 funky sock assortment. Blame it on the availability of entire lines from Method, 7th Generation, and Caldrea! (Who doesn't want their kitchens to smell like Ginger Pomelo?) Just when I thought my Target love could not grow any bigger - they go ahead and start sending me coupons... and then they open the grocery section. AHHHHH I saved $30.09 Sunday with coupons and their grocery grand opening sale. The food deals are great! Frozen items and many refrigerator items are much less than Safeway. Be aware, there really isn't much produce to choose from and for example, you can only buy onions in a bag of 5. PS: You can have COUPONS sent to your phone - the cashier just scans the barcode on your screen - SWEET, I get them text to me! This totally makes up for not having a garden section and a crappy shoe area at this location. Target I love you. read more

Let me start off by saying that I LOVE Target and when we moved to California...I was afraid I wouldn't have one close to me. Well...we have one now since we're living in San Mateo, but when we move into the city...I won't be so lucky. A few of my highlights... *Lots of parking in their enormous lot. *Very friendly staff...always will and able to assist in any way. *Clean store, dressing rooms and every department. Usually during the holidays you find disaster zones in most store, but not here. *Grocery section...fresh fruit and veggies, fresh hams and turkeys and everything else you would find at a standard grocery store. *Great deals throughout the store. Reasonable prices and fabulous clearance sections. *Very large holiday area with trees, ornaments, wrapping paper...basically anything you need for the holidays. Bonus - this location also offers... *Starbucks *Snack Center *Flu Shots *Pharmacy *Clinic *Photo Center *Fresh Grocery *Optical *Wine/Beer/Liquor Available Note - if you bring your own bags, you get a discount on your bill. Overall...this is a fabulous Target and I'm sad I'm moving far away from it. But since it's that good.. I'm sure I'll make the trip often there still. :) I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. read more

I'm particularly crazy over their scarves; not bad for the Merino brand at $12.99 a piece. Their soft wool and fringes are so nice. I like getting stuff for my home decor especially the diffusers and candle accents. Not to mention how easy home shopping is! The parking could be crazy but the lot's big enough. read more

I hate Target a lot. Like, if it were a human being, I'd pass it on the street and go, "Pshhhhh" and roll my eyes. However, I am totally lying right now and Target is amazing. There aren't many stores that give me panic attacks, and the stores that do hold special places in my "heart." Usually I go to Target without a list, which means that I am free to spend $50+ on items such as: 1) Monty Python pajama pants 2) "Laguna Beach" season two 3) An industrial sized pack of gum 4) Tropical fruit scented deodorant (so my armpits smell like a bowl of fruit) 5) A yam scented candle 6) A shirt with a photo of tits, right over my tits 7) Four or five Swiss Army knives with 45 tools each 8) A pack of live nacho-cheese flavoured mice 9) An S&M kit for toddlers I walk out of Target with this stuff, drop the bag in my room, and it's never seen again. One of the worst experiences I've ever had at a target period! It's kind of hard to screw up an experience at target and I've never had an issue before, frankly this is one of my favorite targets to go to. I found everything I needed as usual and headed to the check out. My husband and I always split the bill and never had an issue so I told the man behind the register to put half on my card and the remainder on the other card. He said ok and I went about my transaction. All of a sudden the receipt pops out of the register and I wondered why we still had one card to process. He looked at me dumbfounded and said well that's the amount. No apologies or anything. I was already frustrated with how it went down and didn't want to push it with management - it was 9PM. It's target, I can't avoid this place but I will be absolutely clear when at the register to avoid this from happening again. read more

I went to Target to do some shopping and left my phone there. I went back and I could tell them what checkout counter I came through and I had my receipt and they went back and looked at the cameras at 10:46 AM. They found that when I had taken a quick phone call I put the phone in the tray of the cart which I left in the parking lot when I unloaded my groceries. The security man helped me look through all the carts and we found it. Great service and I thank Target for having cameras that work and for having helpful employees to help me find my phone which would've been a really bad thing for me if I would've lost it! read more

What has happened to this Target? I've been here a handful of times and for me to have to Yelp it with 1 star means something has definitely gone wrong. (Wished they offered no stars, this place deserves it) I never had issues when I go here. But tonight was horrible. Like other reviews before me, they have long lines and no sense of line control. 3 checkout lanes open and long lines that literally curved. What annoyed me the most was when I was in a lane, I literally had 4 items, express line had so many people and the other 2 were also long. Well the checkout lady in my lane, I was 2 customers away and she sends me and the lady in front of me to the checkout next to hers and calls someone over. Well here is when it gets good. When the guy comes to help she asks him to come back to her lane and check out her customer so she can leave and there I am and the lady in front of me standing in an empty lane and a line forms behind us. No acknowledgment to us or sorry or even any action! Just acting like they can't see us. I felt bad for the lady in front of me, she was out just buying bubbles! She up and left pissed. Trust me I was about to do that when a manager came out and I literally called out the guy who moved and explained what happened. I'm not the type of person to embarrass someone but if you move customers from one lane to another and than move back, explain it to us and get us back in the lane. Don't just leave us there with no acknowledgment. Keep up these practices and I assure you, you will lose more and more business. This Target location seriously needs to better their training in times when it gets busy and employees need to learn to speak up and know when to apologize. Not to mention their shelves weren't even stocked, I almost slipped in the aisle where they have the workout stuff. And it's hard to locate anyone that works there for any help. I honestly don't think I'll shop here at the same time (I came at 10pm). Maybe it's just the night shift that needs work, or maybe not put employees that look like new hires all in one shift. Aside from the crazy lady who ran the stop sign, drove in the wrong lane, and missed hitting my car by inches in the Target parking lot, my visit last night was GREAT! There are just some items you can't buy anywhere but Target. Dial liquid foam soap refill is one of them. Don't you know I drove all the way to Target to get it and they were completely SOLD OUT. No more liquid soap refill??!?!??!?! Interestingly enough, right next to the empty shelf was the Target brand liquid soap refill. 10 oz more and $1 less. Hmmmmm, is this a conspiracy? Did they hide all of the Dial, so I'd be forced to buy Target brand because the thought of guests using the bathroom and not washing their hands with anti-bacterial soap grosses the heck out of me. On August 11th, Target Bridgepointe tested my patience. I waited in a lane that was by all means short. There were 2 people in front of me. Why would it take 15minutes for me to actually walk out of Target? Well, because my cashier was incompetent. To give the kid the benefit of the doubt, he was new. HOWEVER, when he asked the customer in front of me if she could give him exact change of $20.53 (total was $14.53... she gave him $20) so it would make his job easier (he even told her that)... why would he give her back $6.93?! Oh, yeah, because he's a dimwit. So it was my turn to be rung up. I had a coupon for a free Febreze starter kit air freshener thing, and a $8 Kelly Kopowski graphic tee that was on sale for $9.99. Well, the kid insisted that the starter kit I picked up was NOT a starter kit and was in fact something else. There was a long line behind me and told him "it's fine. I'll just get it next time. Can I have the coupon back?" Then he rung up my shirt, and it was coming up full price. "I think that was $8." No, its coming up as $9.99. "Ok. Whatever." So I pay, and I was about to walk away when he said "Oh wait, sir, you're air freshener!" So the kid charged me for the air freshener even after I told him I was gonna get it the next time. So there went another 3 mins of him refunding me my money. I was 99.8% sure my shirt was on sale. I went to go check... and sure enough it was! I went to customer service and they refunded my money back. Listen, I'm cheap and I know it... mmmk. I returned the next day since my boyfriend wanted to buy a video game. Sure enough, the cashier that rung us up honored my coupon with no questions asked. I understand that my first cashier was new (he had a hand written name tag) and he was still learning the ropes and under pressure. BUT, Target Bridgepointe, please teach these kids some common sense or simple math skills. There is usually a starter kit OR a refill. I LOVE this Target location, they are the best. Huge store, well organized, very friendly customer service and really good location. They have everything thing I need and more. Which is a great thing but also a bad thing at the same time just because I sometimes find things I feel like I need but really don't :) The best part really is the location though, you have all of the different restaurants to eat at, the ice skating rink at the other end of the parking lot, sports authority, pet smart.. and it's right off of the freeway. read more

I hate this store. The confusing layout that doesn't make sense, items miscategorized in departments that don't make sense, and their non-existant customer service, untrained employees, and stupid return policy that of course, doesn't make sense either. This store is big enough, so would it be too much trouble to ask them to be more organized, and have items in stock? Seriously, invest in some training classes for your employees or give them an orientation on your products/inventory. There's no reason why I should walk away from a Target employee even more confused than I originally started. Or at least have a freakin map so I can find it myself. read more

I've always loved this Target. This is probably one of the bigger Targets in the bay area. The clothing section is huge and the employees are friendly and helpful and seem happy to work there. The employees are also honest! My iPhone fell out of my pocket in the dressing room. I didn't notice until I had already driven away in my car. One of the employees found it and brought it to Guest Services, where I picked it up later that night. Awesome! I am forever indebted to Foster City Target because my husband would flip if I had to buy another iPhone (although I would've loved an excuse to buy the new 4G...). read more

Store itself is clean and well organized. Parking lot shared by several other stores and is huge. So why the 1 star? Should have taken it as foreshadowing when I heard one of the managers talk about how their cafeteria area is one of the dirtiest of the nearby Targets. My opinion - the best Tar-zhay in the Bay Area Plenty of parking; few enough people so you can actually walk around & do your shopping in peace & not get claustrophobic Ginormous store w/ absolutely everything you could ever want in terms of house staples, grocery essentials, snacks & they even have a pretty decent clothing section When you need those basic t-shirts, yoga pants, work shirts or a cute skirt or 2, bypass H&M & give Tar-zhay a try...you'll be pleasantly surprised! Yeah, I made the comparison but I said, basics......BASICS!! Not as edgy as H&M but good conservative work basics. This is my favorite Target! It's big and always have everything I need and the staff are super nice. I like the fact they have a good sized grocery section with some fresh vegetables and so much ice cream. They even do cupcakes which are really good. Cheap dvds, clothing, shoes and candy! I always come here and leave with more than expected too so thats probably not a good thing but knowing its so much cheaper than everywhere else its ok. read more

First of I have to start with I love Target. I love all things Target and I think it is a great store with good products. BUT..WTF is up with the managers! Today I went to Target and went into the first aisle and left my empty cart at the end of the aisle. 30 seconds after I am done getting what I need to get I go to the end of the aisle and my cart is gone. Ok simple mistake they think it is an empty abandoned cart. SO I go back about my business fill my cart with all kinds of things. I'm on to my last item, starbucks double shots in a can. So I leave the cart at the end of the aisle and go skip over to get my crack in a can. As I'm walking back with my four pack of starbucks double shots I think I'm going crazy. I can't find the cart. My husband thinks I'm dumb for not knowing where the cart is. So I walk around like a crazed person and I see this employee putting away stuff that looks like what was in my cart. Well come to find out yes it was my cart and most of the stuff was already put away in go back piles and on the shelves. The employee who was nice by the way explained to me he was doing what his manager told him to do. Any time they see a cart sitting by itself they start putting the products away. Yes, I get the concept but can you maybe wait 5 maybe 10 mins for the cart to be left alone before assuming it has been abandoned. I was literally gone for less then one minute. I am only ranting on and on because this is the 3RD time this happened!!!! Freaking frustrating...hopefully management will get a clue or you can just walk around with the cart glued to your a**. read more

WARNING: If you have a chip debit card from Bank of America. Stay away, you won't be able to get any cash back. I'm a nice guy. I really am. But today, I'm super pissed off Tony. Let me tell you why: I went through two transactions at Target trying to get cash back. Prior to upgrading to the new chip card, I was able to do this hassle free. Unfortunately today I was not able to. Swiping the card on the right side normally gave me an error saying it was a chip card. Okay, so I inserted it from the bottom. What happened? It charged it like credit. The lady at the counter was like, hey why don't you buy a banana to try it again. Hey lady, you like taking my money? Screw you and all your Targets. I went to Staples instead to get cash back. They had the old machine. I shouldn't be losing any functionality at all according to Bank of America's website. So what's the answer? Shit, that's what. This has been my primary Target since I was born. I mean who doesn't love Target? They're open til midnight and have everything! Ok mostly everything..but I must say their renovations is why I came back. Before renovations, it felt outdated, a bit messy and not much variety in departments. Target in Colma was my top choice until my recent visit and I must say I am impressed! So much more, and improved inventory, better showcasing and the ambience has a true Target comfort feel. As usual, you can never leave Target with "just what you came for". I made my way from Women's all the way to the Pharmacy area and ended up leaving with something from each department. Newer staff, more friendly. Better customer service. I look forward to coming back more often! read more

You know this specific location is one of my favorite Targets because of how clean they keep this store. I love shopping here mainly because of that reason. Also bonus feature, they don't have a lot of ghetto birds walking around with their babies screaming up in your mix. How annoying! I shop at Target for some groceries and household supplies. Their prices are competitive. There service is nothing to write home about. I get frustrated a lot when they carry something one week, and then stop carrying that item the next. Items that regularly sell out, are not regularly stocked. I slowly see them start to carry more healthy items and green items, would like to see them increase these items. read more

This Target is HUGE and in a great location with plenty of parking. Everything is laid out well, well-lit and clean. They have pretty much everything you would ever want and is one of the best Targets I've been to and wish I lived closer to this one. Their board game selection is quite extensive and the clothing section is also well-stocked. The Mountain View one pales in comparison. read more

I've previously frequented Targets in Daly City, Albany, Richmond, Emeryville, and both SF locations. So I'll go aheadand label myself a Target connisseur. Being a Target frequenter, there is so much I want to discuss, yet am uncertain if it should all be included in this post. Eh, I'll let it out and you can read what you desire. From my expierence this is one of the nicer Targets (in terms of staffing, cleanliness, selection, and even general public). Everything here is nicely spaced out (not cramped like the FiDi Target), the clothe section is well organized (not messy like Daly City or Serramonte), and the staff is very pleasant and helpful. In my opinion, this Target is one of my top 3. I think the Albany Target is tops mainly because it has the largest selection I've come across (it's two stories). Like others have stated, the people who frequent this Target tend to be more mothers with kids, some yuppies, less of the college crowd. My biggest issue with the Daly City and Redwood City Targets are that they get over crowded with people. Daly City with it's proximity to SFSU, and Redwood City with Stanford down the road. Since moving to the San Mateo area 6 months ago, I've turned to this Target for 95% of all of my needs from cleaning supplies and furniture to clothing and groceries. I'm serious. Every week, sometimes even twice, I find myself at Target. Not that it's a bad thing. I just happen to forget to make lists. Not really a problem. I get my basic groceries here, apartment basics, cookingware, you name it. This Target has the benefit of having a "full" grocery section, with fresh produce as well as the frozen section and the shelf food. On a seperate but still important Target subject, they really got to me with the Threshhold line of house/apartment stuff. I've wanted (and almost purchased) many of the times and I can say that I've been pleased with each one. Just the other day I was able to purchase the Threshhold bar cart and I am endlessly excited to finally have it. I waited till it went on a little sale than snatched it up. But seriously re: Threshhold, well played Target. They released the line right as I moved into my new apartment, so it definitely blind sided me as I was buying cleaning supplies my first week in my new place. read more

It's a Target. All Targets are pretty much the same. They're what Walmart wishes it was. The great thing about living on the Peninsula is that there aren't any Walmarts. Walmarts are disgusting. I feel like I'm in Tijuana when I step into a Walmart. They're just bootleg Targets. You step into a Walmart and there's clothes all over the floor, signs are in Spanish, nobody speaks English, etc. It's like a WWF No Holds Barred Cage Match between NWO and DX. I step into Target and I still feel clean, everything is still on the racks, nothing is half used and put back on the shelf, workers know where things are located, Starbucks, etc. Oh, I do appreciate the big parking lot at this Target. I'm very torn, because I love Target, I really do, and yet it's so bittersweet... Target has literally everything that I ever need, for a good and affordable price. Also, the parking situation at Bridgepointe is awesome since it's such a large lot. The store is large, everything is well-spaced out and organized, and clean. However, I have to say that I absolutely hate how long it takes to check out. The lines are dreadful, I feel like I'm at Costco sometimes. And it really sucks sometimes, because I only have like three small items, and I have to wait behind someone with a cartload of stuff. I'm hoping that they can have an express cash register or self-checkout. It's really frustrating for me, because I usually just visit Target when I need stuff, and no one wants to stand in line for like 5-10 minutes... However, I will continue to frequent this place, because like I said, I can get what I need for an affordable price. Hopefully they'll be able to figure out their lines! I haven't dealt with their customer service too much, however I have to say that their new credit card thing to read the chips in the cards is kind of annoying and time consuming, and just adds to the line wait! read more

ONLINE ORDER AND PICKUP ONLY REVIEW- Very disappointed in target. They just added a bag fee for pick up ordered and the bag fee is $2.50! For anything you order even if it doesn't require a bag. And the tax is 16% if you order online and pick up. I won't be ordering online pickup as much anymore. read more

Called this location on 8/29 asking if they had enfamil gentle ease formula. The lady on the phone had no idea what the heck I was talking about! I asked if there was anyone else I could speak to and she said no. Okay, I then proceed to repeat myself 5 more times she then said "OH! Enfamil yes we have plenty!" I asked if they had the 20oz gentle ease and she said they had a lot in stock. I drove about 20 minutes to this location (target where I live was out of enfamil gentle ease). When I arrived I went straight for the formula to my surprise there was NOT EVEN ONE can of formula!! I asked an employee if they had anymore in the back and he said no. What a bummer!! I also did notice the lines were SUPER long. Don't think I'll be trying this target out. Sorry. read more

I recently had a great customer service experience here. I returned an item that I changed my mind on. The cashier gave me a merchandise credit in the form of a gift card but it slipped out between the receipts and fell on the floor without me knowing. When I realized I did not have the gift card about half an hour later, I went back to the customer service area and told them what happened. It was a different cashier and she said she had to call security to verify. A security team member came right away and was able to check the cameras. They canceled the previous transaction and issue me a new credit. First, I am pleased that they accepted my return even though I had past the return period. Secondly, when my merchandise credit was lost, most stores would have made it a huge hassle to cancel and replace. However, they were able to do just that in a timely and understanding manner. Aside from this incident, I just love shopping at Target and always feel like I got a great deal. Thank you Target! read more

CONSTANT STOCK ISSUES - Gotta give up on this location. This place has massive issues with consistency of stock. Walk down a few aisles and see for yourself, especially in grocery. I was in Target at Bridgepointe Shopping Center, I was a 40" flat screen TV on clearance for $139.00 the problem - There were 5 stores that said they had one. When called (I had to FORCE the sales person to call) not ONE store had the TV in stock. You can't have shipped store to store You can't order online You can't buy the floor model Why are they being advertised? The worst part was the sales staff had no clue how to handle this situation. One told me that the "clearance" item was going to be reordered. Target do better. It's okay if you don't have the item just don't pretend hoping for the bait and switch. read more
