Meh kinda sums it up honestly. I went there to purchase nail clippers and diapers. The nail clipper section was all messed up and disorganized (that whole aisle was actually) so it was a game of hope you were paying what you thought. The diapers were organized okay so no issues there. I tried to find a few other items but they were sold out. The bathroom was disgusting and stunk REALLY bad, I'd recommend cleaning it more often. Finally my biggest mistake was using self checkout. There was NO ONE working self check and lucky me my machine needed assistance. People behind me were cussing and I certainly was in my head at least. I stood there, no joke, 6 minutes, before someone came over to help me. Some blonde haired lady who had previously been flirting it up with another employee at customer service. She cleared the machine and then walked back to customer service. I feel sorry for the lady at the other machine who also needed help. I don't see myself returning here honestly. read more

I stopped in to return a few impulse buys and the customer service counter was quick and friendly. Then I bought a few groceries that were fairly priced and fresh: applegate bacon, Brussels sprouts and some Siete chips! I like this little Target! read more

I came to write a review on the sales floor but I was shocked to see what has been written about Starbucks! I am not sure what the previous review is about but the baristas here are gems, especially Bree! She is super helpful and always patient with me when I want to try something new. Ive witnessed myself all the baristas here have regulars that specifically come to one of them & I have to say that speaks volumes about a crew. For me Bree is the only one I'll get a drink from! When Bree isn't there the curly haired blonde is my next go to person. Either way the Starbucks crew is awesome! Whoever the person was to write that review must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed to make such a false claim over an individual. Don't let bad reviews on this place fool you. 5 stars for them, The real issue with this target isn't their Starbucks, it's their sales team. I can never find a single person to help me out! That becomes a bit frustrating! Hopefully with the season here they keep some of their bodies for crew to help this place stay afloat. read more

My go-to Target. It's smaller than other Target locations so their selection offers less than the big stores. I'm the kind of shopper that likes to get in and get out so it doesn't bother me much. The layout is intelligent and it never seems to be crowded in the aisles. I like how Target employees are always tidying up the shelves, and pulling the items from the back to the front for easy sight and pick up. Sometimes there are only a couple of cashiers open so there is a wait but there's also a self check out if you need to get out fast. I do miss their garden center. It's just open, wasted space from what I can see behind the fence. I miss their Christmas trees though... read more

I feel like not many people know this Target exists. It's right next to the Costco off of Convoy it's on the side right next to the freeway. It's not as big as the Balboa Target but it carries all your basic needs. If you don't like running into people like me then this is the Target for you! I remember coming here one time to check out their stock of NYX cosmetics and they were out of a ton of items. Target on Balboa is still my first choice but if you're in the Convoy area already it's not that bad to come here. read more

This is a big clean target. Noticed most things are bit on the expensive side. I was in need of fish food. I went into the pet section, and they had no items for tropical fish. Most places carry plain tropical fish flakes, but this place had nothing. Overall the place is stocked with your basics. But may lack in some things. Place is clean with wide aisles. Store has bright lights too which is nice. It was late and they still had the A.C. going which is another plus for me. Plenty of parking too. Other than not having fish food, this is a good place to shop for your basics. read more

This is my regular Target. I visited about 3 times every week. The cashiers are always friendly and make me feel great for picking this Target to come shop at. Any questions I have are usually answered quickly and the correct information is given. As long as I get A service here it will keep being my regular store. read more

This Target may be smaller than most but when you need basic necessities, it's got them! Service may be very mediocre but some staff members seem to really enjoy their time there and help in any way possible. Helpful tip: price match and double check target.com. You can usually find stuff cheaper on target.com while you're instore but being able to price match means not having to wait for your order to be shipped home, when you may be in need of things in that moment. read more

So I wouldn't usually do a rating at Target but particularly this one I'm going to rate 5 stars because my cashier named Ricky just had such an awesome optimistic attitude at the register and they acknowledged me before I was even ready to cash out while another customer was ahead of me was really appreciated. I love Target and I definitely prefer Target over Walmart any day. I have never had a problem with this Target location. All the employees that I've encountered here are friendly, nice, attentive, and helpful. On this particular night, I decided to check out at the electronics section since there was only 1 cashier open in the front. Since I was using coupons, I decided to check out in the back so I wouldn't hold up the line. Before I even got to the electronics, I was asked by this nice employee doing inventory in the aisle. He asked me if I needed any help and if I was doing all right. I asked him if he knew anyone that was working in the electronics department so that I could check out and he said that he could help me. He went above and beyond and took initiative of the situation to help me out even when he was doing another task. I was extremely impressed. Usually, I get the opposite effect where the employee would say, "I don't know" and continue what they were originally doing. I wish I had gotten his name to tell his manager how great of an employee he is! We need more people like that in the world! :) read more

First of all, in my opinion, I think this Target is slightly smaller than the one located at Genesse. Second, it's so hard to find an employee! I was at the game section and I had to walk back and forth to find an employee. You would think at least one person would be at the check out section located in the electronics, but nope... So lame... And then finally, I went to the front to pay and I don't understand why there's only 2 lanes open when there's a long line. They should at least open another lane if there's three of more customers waiting, but they didn't. And when it was my turn, my cashier was very slow. I mean, I appreciate how she was trying to make small talks with me, but girl, you need to step up on your multitasking game. read more

I like this Target. The employees are helpful. We were asked by 3 different employees if we needed help in 3 different sections of the store. The best was when the last guy asked me if I needed help...I said "Oh, no thank you!" and proceeded to walk into the Electronics section that was blocked off into it's own area. It's rare I write a review for chains like target, but I was so happy with my customer service on Tuesday that I must. Plus I've been to this target about 5 times now because I usually go during my lunch break to pick up household items or buy gifts. It's always clean, fully stocked and has great staff. The lady at the register on Tuesday took time out of her day to offer me some coupons for a few items I had, which I thought was really sweet and thoughtful. Little things like this can make an overall experience positive. Her small gesture help saved me maybe $2 but put a smile on my face and made me want to write a review so they know how great their employees are. read more

I really want to like this target, but I swear all the bad hires end up here. I have never seen slower cashiers, less knowledgable associates, or lack of merchandising in all the other targets combined as I do here. They have a guard who was more willing to help us than the actual workers. The cashier we had took longer to ring up two customers than the other three lines to ring up several. To make it even worse, we checked our receipt on the way out and she double rang several items, and had to deal with their customer service, which acted like we were trying to get over, even though we had walked there from the register without even leaving. I love this target and it used to be my favorite spot to check out clearance but there's always a line at check out. I love the remodel and this place will always have a soft spot in my heart but I cannot get past that checkout line. Tip: If you have a handful of items, just head to guest services and ask them politely if they can check you out...that's the only reason this joint gets the third star. read more

Perfectly made the drink that I ordered, two chestnut praline's one with soy, were made amazingly. Great amount of sweetness, non-expired shots, and extremely delicious at the right temperature. I've been coming to this Target location for over 10 years and it looks so much better now. It's organized better, looks cleaner, and the overall experience is much better. I love that this Target is a bit hidden because it never has huge crowds like other locations. This Target also carries a lot of beauty brands, even some that aren't at every single Target! I approach a check out lane and Edan tells me he is closing and won't check me out. Then he sees I have 2 items and calls me back. I'm buying toilet paper and Mucinex DM. He says he needs to check my ID! So I said how old do you have to be and how old do I look? He said I have be 18. I'm 37. Flashed him the ID and asked him how old he is. This 19 year old kid is messing with me! He has the nerve to say it would have been easier to swipe my license than look at it to verify I am in fact not 17 or younger. Of all the Target stores in San Diego, this is the best. It is smaller than usual but that's okay. I have been shopping here since 1999 - Low turn-over in staff must mean they are satisfied with their jobs for the most part. They are always willing to help find things and will call other stores if they are out of stock. I miss the garden department that used to be outside - I loved coming here for plants and gardening supplies. I hate shopping in a big, crowded store - this place is never crowded unless you are here right before Christmas - Also, this place is easy to navigate. All in all, a good shopping experience. read more

Bleh. This is the old Target that I only go to when I can't take a full lunch hour (when I would travel just a wee bit further down the road to the nice Target). It doesn't seem to have all the good stuff, but if you just need basics it'll do. The space is older so the layout seems weird, but really I just think it's because there wasn't a lot of thought put into flow, etc. back in the day compared to the studies et al. that are done now. Oh, and if you go to the snack bar, just remember it's not nice to laugh until you leave the store. You'll know what I mean when you get there. read more

I only saw a Starbucks here but was hoping for one of those merged pizza hut store things because I could've used some hot food. Parking lot is a bit small considering Costco is right next door. I came in midday so it was relatively slow and I did self checkout to make things go by quicker. I did stop by some end caps to check out clearance which was nice. Per usual, Target has always been good to me anywhere I go. This was so random, but I think I wanted a onesie just for the fun of it. I believe I literally spent like an hour or so trying to figure out which one I wanted. In the end, I decided on the superman because I'm always a hero to my gf(okay, that sounded tacky but oh well xD). I mean the only bad thing that I could think of was how unclean it was. Your basic target with such a typical layout. The one thing that I do enjoy is most targets coming out with the same layout so it it easier to find things. Granted it is so uniform and boring but it's a great and smart technique. The staff here is helpful and more noticiable than other Targets that I've been too. Does anyone else feel like this parking area is a little sketch? Maybe it's just me but I was looking for a good amount of stuff on my shopping list and some things were just not on the shelves. Things were not greatly stocked and if they were, then were either damaged or dirty. I tried asking an old woman for help in direction to find some things and she was not helpful much. Had to stop in here while we were in the Convoy/Kearney Mesa area. A bit of a compressed parking lot, but no real problems at this Target.

Don't get me wrong; I LOVE Target but this store has been disappointing me. Since the Balboa once temporarily closed, I shop here now every few weeks for necessities. On two separate occasions the cashiers have mistakenly scanned or bagged items. The first time, I had two specific items, and the cashier scanned the first item twice but bagged both the first and the second. The second time, I had a few items including a bag of razors, and later found out that the cashier didn't even scan or bag the razors. Oh well, it's not like I really lost anything (except, uh, the razors) but it's just a hassle to go back again. The service is friendly and I tend to find what I want, so I'll come back, but I'll be sure to carefully check my items when paying. read more

I love TARGET! Growing up, we only had a Walmart and Kmart in town, so now that I live by a Target, it is my go-to shopping store! This location is great because it is close to my house, I don't have to get on a freeway to get here, its never super busy, its clean, and parking is great! So much nicer to go to this location that deal with having to go to Mission Valley mall just to go to Target! I have not had to deal too much with customer service other than at checkout, and I have never had any issues. I have been asked if I needed help if an employee was walking by. I love this Target, not for the people but for product and minimal people traffic. Like a lot of people out there, I was procrastinating and didn't get all my Christmas shopping done. I knew what product I was looking for even though I didn't have exact brand in mind. They had great sale for HD player but didn't' have in stock. Like other reviewers said, they don't have much traffic. Since they didn't have one in stock, the person helped me said the Balboa location had few and I went there thinking it will be similar to this location. Boy, was I wrong. Once again, I was thankful that this location is so much closer and had less traffic than other Target locations. read more

I hope the Target manager of this Kearny Mesa location reads this review. This is my go to Target because of its proximity, not crowded, easy parking, but above all else, the customer service. I shop here about 3x per week. Employees here consistently greet and ask if I need any help. Several times in one shopping trip, this makes my shopping pleasant if i ever do need help. I've been shopping here for several years and have only encountered friendly and helpful service. Weird side entry location; enter from Convoy St. or Kearny Villa Rd.. We bought two net/tablet computers on sale; had to return mine (my fault). I ran back ASAP that day to avoid restocking fees. I don't know if that made the difference because there wasn't a restocking fee. The gentleman in returns was pleasant and efficient. He even explained my refund receipt; where all charges, environmental fees, and coupons were refunded. True they have limited items and the handicapped scooters are VERRRRY slow. (Maybe for the sake of damaged corners with those narrow aisles and other customers.) And it's near my favorite; the Sunrise Chinese Buffet. read more

This place has recently reorganized their store. I came in last month trying to buy some gifts and had to walk around the store a few times until I realized it was reorganized. I don't enjoy coming to this location as much as the one in Eastlake but since it's down the street from my office, it will have to do. I think this store needs to change the lighting inside because I swear it's not as lit up as other stores. It kind of kills my mood and makes me feel depressed about spending money and shopping. But all in all, there has been ample parking and it's close to my work. Not as nice as Eastlake but it will have to do! read more
