This review is about Starbucks inside the target store. We ordered a turkey sandwich and Mocha Frappuccino. The lady said the toaster oven wasn't not working! By far the worst condition and customer service I've ever had here. So disappointing. I like how everyone working there used the excuse that they are remodeling keeps them from keeping the place in some order. There are so many hazards in the kids clothes section. I said something to 2 crew members and they both made excuse. By the way, people usually have their kids with them when they are shopping for clothes. Someone is gonna sue the minute there kid trips and falls over something. Also after 11 there is no one at a register?? I don't work for you. I asked one lady, she said there is no one available, but there is a tonnage of people on staff, she said not for the register. Wow. And why is it you have this huge girls section of clothes and a small, actually tiny section for boys, with barely anything in stock. I will go to walmart next time. read more

Wish I could say that it's quick and easy shopping here, but alas, like any other Target, I get lost in the aisles and end up leaving with more than I need. Parking lot is huge but if you're trying to find a spot within a few steps of the entrance, that is not always possible. Holiday seasons are peak times for this Target especially with it being the closest one to UCSD. Checking out isn't always easy either. Self check out is a long wait and so is waiting in line sometimes depending on the time of day. Later in the evening closer to closing isn't an issue. Overall, it's a good Target and is a fun store to just spend time in when you have free time. read more

Although I live much closer to the Mission Valley target, I often visit this location because it is simply cleaner, and less chaotic, both inside and outside. The Targets in San Diego are just crazy busy all the time it seems. I have found this location to be the most tolerable, even at peak times. The flow seems to work well, the customer service line doesn't seem to be as endless as some, and although there are only 4 self check outs, they move along at a decent clip with staff nearby to help as needed. read more

We all know that Target and Walmart are rivals. What you probably do not observe is the image that they represent. Target has more youngsters working than Walmart. Just visit this location and the Walmart right off the Clairemont Mesa Dr. and you will see what I mean. You will find more middle-aged and older folks hanging at Walmart than at Target. At least this is my pure observation, but next time you visit them let me know if I am right. I did not have anything else to buy at that moment. Since it was busy, I expected a 5 minute wait time for checkout. Good thing they have self-checkout though, I do not like being asked the 2 questions: 1. Do you have a Target RED Card which saves you 5%? if not would you like to sign up for one and save 5% on your purchase today? No thank you, not a frequent shopper of Target to justify a 5% savings cost, another hard pull of credit history which dings the score by a few points, and having another credit card. Even though it is easy to say no, still kind of annoying at times when they ask about it. This Target is slightly messy/disorganized compared to some other ones. I saw a product on the floor near the self check out aisle. Customers seems to leave more mess here for workers to clean up. It also happens to be a target for probably shoplifters that night as I saw several officers talking to the suspects and heard the word misdemeanor. It is always a nightmare for retailers and supermarkets to deal with. It looks like I came on a bad day, But it was a busy night with lines both on the counter and the self checkout. Overall, I think it is an okay Target compared to some of the other ones that I have been to. This one is busy, probably WAY busier than the one that is about several miles away at the Convoy location near the CA-163 freeway. I prefer that one than this location, but this one is located in a nice mall with plenty of eateries outside the store. I come here because of the convenience. read more

So by the time I got up to the counter was getting ready to place my order and they said sorry the machines broken to make coffee and it's been broken for a long time. You were think that if their equipment was broken for a long time at target or whoever would've fixed it says before. Quite literally the worst inventory practices of any store, ever. They're pretty much out of anything you need, all the time. Better buy your Christmas decorations before Halloween, because they sell out by mid November, and won't get anything in afterward. Couldn't find a single notebook on the shelves yesterday. Not one. Who manages inventory here? Are you reading this? Do you know that you suck at a colossal level at what you do? The phones where you call a team member to assist you have been ripped out and partially replaced by touch screens where the Product Recall option is the only way to hack a request for customer service. It says a team member will assist you in (counts down from 60 seconds). And then asks if you are still there every 20 seconds for additional countdowns. Meanwhile no one shows up! If Target keeps crying butthurt on online competition, why do they keep doubling down on shitting the bed on the 2 reasons people still try brick and mortar???: onsite inventory and customer service! I seriously think these decisions are made in meetings with people eating paint chips and washing it down with paint thinner while they smoke crack and high five each other over their brilliant business acumen. read more

Little pissed off after going to the food court in target and then being told that they don't start cooking the lunches until 11:00am and it won't be ready for serving customers until 11:30am. Well the sign says they are open to serve at 10:00. Target get your personnel to read there signs before making a statement that says otherwise or change your sign. The weekends and holidays are usually horrible at this store but I had to write a review regarding my service with my cashier Derrick, who took the time to give me some stellar customer service. First of all, he greeted me energetically even in the midst of the holiday chaos and took initiative to provide envelopes for my gift cards (where in the past, I had to ask for them...I know, shocking!) He also gave me a discounted price for a pair of discountinued socks and I liked the fact that he waited patiently as I handed him my spare change (where in the past I would feel rushed or hurried due to the cashier's emotional state at the growing number of customers waiting in line). This has been my go to Target for years since I live in Clairemont but in the last month it's been very disappointing. The store is often disorganized, messy and their shelves are constantly empty with no stock. This is very disappointing since I use the Target app to check available items prior to arriving and then when I get to the store they are completely out. BEWARE!!! I placed an order online yesterday for a $240 baby monitor for my daughter to pick up at the store. By ordering the item online, I was also given a $30 e-gift card to use on a future order. I received a text message AND an email confirmation message saying that I had 4 days to pick up the order. I couldn't pick it up yesterday, so I picked it up today. First, the idiots in Guest Services told me that the item had probably been re-shelved since I didn't pick it up yesterday. WTF?! However, they checked the Fulfillment room and there it was. My ID was checked, the item bagged and as I was walking out the store, they started screaming at me to come back. Other shoppers were looking at me as if I had tried to steal the damn thing. I went back to the register and I was told they had to cancel my order and re-charge me. Ummmm...why? I told them that if I were charged twice for the item, I was going to be very upset. They assured me I wouldn't. I don't believe them. Second, when I got home, I got two emails from Target indicating that because I had cancelled the order, the $30 e-gift card was also cancelled. WTF?! I called Target Customer Service and spoke to a CSR...and then his supervisor. They kept insisting that it was me who cancelled the order!!! And the supervisor told me that I only had 48 hours to pick up the order. Even though that is contradictory to both their email and text confirmation messages, it wasn't 48 hours since I had placed the order, so why was that relevant? The supervisor then hung up on me. I re-dialed and got a different CSR...went through my schpel again and again, he forwarded me to a supervisor. That supervisor said: Our notes indicate YOU cancelled the order. I could say I didn't until I was blue in the face...they insist it was me. BAIT AND SWITCH! DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING ON LINE FOR PICK UP WHERE YOU ARE PROMISED A $30 E-GIFT CARD. You won't get it. I will NEVER shop at Target again. Now I see why they are getting such bad press lately. They are totally incompetent...which is why they allowed thousands of people to have their credit and debit cards breached. That wasn't enough of a black eye for them. So far, I have TWO pending charges totaling $520 for one baby monitor. You can believe that I will run this up the flag pole. Wow. The new Target is big, but that's the only real difference I see. I was expecting something insanely fantastic, like the two-story Target in Mission Valley. What I found, upon visiting the newly-opened Target, was a Target with a Starbucks. Hmm. I think what really failed to impress me was that they didn't seem to carry any more merchandise or lines than any other Target. I really like SheaMoisture Organic Black African Bar Soap (great for anyone with oily or imbalanced skin), which I'd previously found at the Target in Poway. When I asked an employee about the soap, he looked at me like he had no clue what I was talking about and proceeded to show me everything from Method products to liquid hand soap. When I kept telling him that none of these items were it, he looked at me like I was crazy and was making up this bar of soap. Target gets points because it IS bigger than the old Target, and the employees are all pretty nice. Plus, it's not Wal-Mart. So there you go. read more

If you've seen one Target, to varying degrees you've seen them all. This Target is tiny compared to the multi-level SuperTarget in Mission Valley, but I've visited this one more often, due to it's proximity to my former residence. I wish I could say I avoid these one-stop-shopping destinations, but I can't. Target is brilliantly designed in such a way as to force a person to walk at least halfway around the store for anything, and Target's increasingly-attractive wares and low, low prices tempt me along the way. When I run into this Target for just one specific item, I inevitably end up with an armload of stuff--a skirt for work, adorable ice cream bowls, a DVD, a book, nail polish, etc--and have to walk around the store for a second time forcing myself to put things back. read more

I'd run in and out of your racks of discount clothing while my mother perused your aisles - things were good. My friends thought you were dirty and old and I broke our unspoken pact of "cheaps trends before adolescent friends." For that, I'm sorry. Little did I know that you would blossom into who you are today. I've seen the error of my ways and have returned to you, Target. In your newfound identity, you've furnished a great deal of my home, pervaded my wardrobe, and have even provided endless gifts for others as well as myself. I even bought an electronic soft dart board for $10 so that I can play darts in an inebriated state without worrying about my safety. That's the kind of thing you do for me, and I'm so, so grateful. To boot, you offer me your products at respectable, affordable prices. Your servicepeople run somewhere between helpful and crazy,always approaching either (or both) of the extremes but never quite reaching them. But, they do so in that ever-comforting khaki and red. I don't know what it is, because even after my soul crushing experience from working at a target as a teenager I still don't mind shopping at target. I always tend to get household items here, they seem to be about the same price as walmart sometimes, but much better quality. This store is always really clean, and except for around the holidays, always has what I want in stock. September is generally the hottest month of the year in San Diego and when I stopped by Target this week to pick up some extra flip-flops I was shocked when I entered the door. Mittens, scarves and hats of all kinds were on display, front and center. I was aghast as I perused the aisles - all of San Diego's year-round staples were gone. Flip-flops had vanished and had been replaced by some hideous Ugg knockoffs. Sunhats had disappeared and wool berets were now in their place. WTF?! THIS IS SAN DIEGO. IT IS SEPTEMBER. What a clear indication that Target is just another homogenized, generic retailer that does nothing to cater to the local demographic. This is San Diego for chrissakes, not Minneapolis. This large Target will swallow you up just like Alice in Wonderland. I never know where anything is, and the signs inside the store don't help. They are always out of my vacuum cleaner bags, but they have a decent selection of deodorant, shampoos, and hand creams. There's a small make-up section which tends to get messy, thanks to the customers. TOY section is deep inside the store, so you will have to wade through a lotta stuff to get to the toys. Location: Address is 5680 Balboa, but I always enter the parking lot via GENESEE Avenue. This Target is near Home Depot, and is close to the corner of Balboa and Genesee Avenue. TOILETS: Essentials first! Inside the main doors, then turn left. Ladies room is right there. (Unless they remodel again...) STARBUCKS: Right inside the front doors of Target, then go right, and there's a Starbucks. Slower than most, but adequate. SELF CHECK OUT: I try to avoid the self check-out lanes, because I always manage to screw it up, and then I have to wait for an associate to come to my aid...so I'm better off waiting in a regular line! For some reason, I've found that this Target has a better selection of little boys clothes, and less selection in toddler girls clothes. What can I say? It's Target! It's a discount department store. Staff is usually pleasant, but you'll have to have somebody call for help and then you'll have to wait if you have specific questions in a particular department. Hungry after shopping at Target? This is my go to Target store for decades now. The store is neat and clean. I like the addition of self checkout lanes as it speeds up my time checking out when I only have a few items. Target always has a great selection of clothing. The one thing I prefer that Target does over Walmart is there aisles have specific sets (Planograms) and I have the expectation of when going to Target that the item (shampoos or laundry detergent whatever will be stocked). Whereas Walmart seems to be very willy nilly with there stocking depending on what is on there trucks. I never know for sure if they will have items I am looking for. read more

While I frequent another Target closer to my home, this one is what I guage other targets on. Not located in the best of areas, this location was built new from the ground up, and still manages to provide better customer service than the one I use. A much better, newer look and feel (even though the one by my place was completely renovated, it doesn't have the feel this one does) it only loses out to the Mission Valley location. If you despise Wal Mart as much as I do, but need the convenience and pricing of a mega store, this is your spot. read more

I love target... So sue me! I've come to this location a couple times. Stock: They seemed well stocked however items definitely seemed misplaced. For example, I found an overwhelming amount of maternity items in the regular clothing size. Lord I hope that is NOT a sign and just bad sorting!! They can definitely improve on the organization. Service: Was decent... Fitting room lady was nice but seemed to take her job a little seriously. I mean your a retail fitting room lady NOT a member of the CIA. She was acting like that walkie talkie was her only connection to the outside world... It was weird. Value: I found a sweater for 16 bucks but when I tried it on I noticed it had a hole in it... Hoping that it was a faulty one and not a bad quality sweater. Otherwise they had good sale items. And I was able to get the price adjusted on a jacket that I purchased at another location merely days before! Will I return: Lets be honest... If not to this location, target has my heart. read more

I. LOVE. TARGET. It's basically your one stop shop! I used to work at Target and it was a vicious cycle where I would spend my whole paycheck at Target. -______- And now that I no longer work here, I still find it so hard to stay away!!! I'm so glad this place has groceries! It's so much cheaper than a lot of grocery places and sometimes even Food4Less! It's so hard to shop here on a budget because I want to buy anything and everything that's in my sight!! I found that the ground beef here is much cheaper than at other places, but I think their pork is more expensive. Good place to get gifts and the quality is so much better than Walmart. =DDD The line situation at this Target confuses me because there are two rows of registers and it seems like there would be one like for the two registers, but each register has their own line... so sometimes I feel like I'm cutting people... but Target is so awesome!!!! read more

Man, the west coast sure loves Target! There's soooo many more Targets out here then there are on the east coast, at least where I'm from and where I've been. Not that I'm complaining or anything, I heart Target just as much as the next person. It's convenient, affordable, and has a great selection of just about anything you need for your home/apartment. The only thing that this location's missing is that amazing shopping cart escalator that I encountered in another Target location--completely new to me! Freakin genius, and it just makes sense. Who loves Target??? I do, I do!!! So this is one of my favorite Target stores, right now. I live near Downtown and I am kind of a Target snobs so I'm not a huge fan of Point Loma, Mission Valley or the the other Clairmont location. One my favorite things about it is the location and that I always get princess parking. It's close to the I-5 and super clean. Nothing freaks me out more than a messy Target...well something's do but that's a whole other story... They typically have what I'm looking for because it seems like no one ever goes there but they don't have my favorite coffee creamer but no one seems to anymore. Anywho...some of the cashiers at a little chatty for my taste but some peeps like to chat...just not me and I can't penalize them because I'm not social Sally. read more

This is the best Tarjet I've ever been to. And I've been to a LOT of targets--from the streets of LA, from Oakland to Sac-town, the Bay Area and back down, Target is where they put the mack down. The aisles are seriously huge and wide, you can literally fit 4 cars down some of them (or two overweight Americans). I can imagine one day people will become so lazy they just drive through Targets, park, pick up what they need and drive down the next aisle. Are you listening WALMART? I had the most awesome old lady check me out too (I mean at the register) who told me that mixing Cocoa puffs with mustard was an awesome combo..which I said I'll never try but will post on Yelp instead. Any of you who have expense report can relate there is nothing worse than misplacing a receipt. I have been rejected by other managers at other stores but the staff here came in clutch to help me out. Nora a newer employee took the dare of purchase, office supply list, and the last four of my credit card and brought me the much needed receipt.
