Thank you, Michaels!!! Christmas central!!! Target was so boring, disappointing and bland! I feel see happy and inspired here!!! Love love love their selection. Cannot wait for Christmas. I think me and my sisters have been here a dozen times already since before Thanksgiving to prep with your cheery decor!

Front of this horrific example of retail customer service. Appalling.

I just spent two hours in this hell hole when I should've been in and out in probably 20 minutes max as soon as I got here, I asked two people for the two items that I was looking for. They supposedly told me isles that I could find them in, however they were very, very wrong. They never were seen again. Nobody was seen again. Nobody would help me. I go to check out with the other random stuff I end up getting, and the woman lets me stand there as if I'm actually waiting for her to help me out a cash register as opposed to doing it myself at a self check out that's way out of view and makes me just look like a complete fool. This woman has the audacity to help everybody else around me. Offer other people to check them out at a real register when she knows that I'm having issues, tells me I need to go online and sign up for some BS, what a waste of time energy and Just unnecessary dealing with horrible customer service. I hate even calling it Customer Service it's so not Customer Service you guys should be ashamed of yourselves and get a real fucking job that you can actually handle like maybe I don't know passing out papers on a corner.

Came here on my quest and mission for floral decor for an event. Unfortunately, I think I was a week late in my ads as the pricing I was expecting to pay was off just a bit! In any event we utilized the bathroom and the buzzer worked just as munchkin was stating we should go look for someone (right after I pushed the button)but they were super quick! The store seemed mostly stocked with the exception of sale/holiday items and I was able to grab some supplies. Dont forget that they typically have coupons on their app or online on their website! Would come back.

This Michael is huge, it has the most stock on poster frames with different sizes that other location didn't carry, just by a quick search on their website, I could find the frame 20x28 is on sale for $9.99 per item, so I was planning to order two and come here to pick up, but I was a bit skeptical because I thought maybe whatever showed online didn't not reflect whatever inside the store, I came and was surprised that the item was there but it was not on sale, instead it's $19.99 bogo which came out to about the same price with the online discount at the total of $21.54, one cent different in between, without any other discount that can be added, which is fine by me, I just don't understand why the store doesn't honor their online price or vice versa. They got good deal here by the way. I will probably ditch Mission Valley and come shop here instead.

I just got home and opened my box of my new art pedestal and was appalled that Michael's sold me a trashed one! It's damaged, covered in dirt and tape. Someone obviously used it, trashed it, and then returned it and Michael's didn't even open the box to see if it was in good shape before accepting the return. Don't go here!

Long line... 4-5 people behind me too.

I usually go to the Michael's in Mission Valley (MV), but we were in the neighborhood. Parking is a breeze at this locay compared to MV. Prices aren't the greatest at Michael's. Some items are quite pricey. I'll usually compare prices to Amazon unless it's something I need to purchase right away. We came here because my God Daughter asked me to help her out with a school project on the Sioux Indians (that of course was due the next day and she told me at the last minute). Her assignment was to create a small shoe box diorama along with a display board. So we found some miniature / model sized artificial grass, small Native American figures, and horses. With the other items we got from Target, we were able to create a nice little 3D shoe box model. It would be nice if the stores had more of a standardized organizational system. It would make finding things much easier. The layout of this store is different compared to MV. When it was time to check out, there were two lanes open and a lot of people lined up. They did eventually open up one or two more lanes, but the line did get longer. It was nice of them to try to get people checked out quicker, but they probably could have done it sooner rather than letting the line get longer. I'd sum this up as an average experience. They seem to hire the minimum number of staff to work the store and as a result, there is often a long wait to check out of the store.

Unfortunately I've been to too many B&Ns that had creases on the covers, nicks on the corners, and ruined bindings. Pretty sure a lot of these flaws come from customers who read the books in the store and just return them, ruining it for the rest of us who actually buy. Not only that I was able to find books I've been looking for such as The Uncensored Picture of Dorian Grey, Moonstone, The Woman in White, and War and Peace (War and Peace isn't a difficult title to find, but they had tons of copies of this book, which I almost never see!). I'm a little annoyed by some of the reviews complaining about the lack of Starbucks. I come in here to buy books; if you want to read go to the Starbucks upstairs next to Trader Joe's/Ralphs. Better yet, support your local library if you want to read for free and flatten book bindings at your leisure.

As others have noted... there doesn't seem to be a Starbucks and seating is rather limited. Some sections were a bit more limited in selection than what you can find at larger bookstores. But overall, it was a good experience. I'll be back.

You missed it! Jazz Artist Rose Mallet Featured This Evening…read more One of the best-kept secrets in any community is its community center. While many people think of exercise classes or meetings, these centers often host incredible cultural events at surprisingly affordable prices. That is exactly what I found at the La Jolla Community Center's summer concert series featuring jazz vocalist Rose Mallet. The evening was elegant without being pretentious. The concert lasted about 75 minutes and attracted a mature audience, though I couldn't help but think younger adults are missing out by not exploring the non-traditional venues. Tickets were very reasonably priced compared to many jazz performances around Southern California, making this an exceptional value.$30.00. The center also showcases artwork from local artists throughout the building, with many pieces available for purchase. A simple snack bar offers reasonably priced refreshments, with most items costing under $5. The venue is comfortable and accommodating, with plentiful restrooms, indoor seating on folding chairs, and spacious outdoor seating that includes large communal tables and smaller café-style tables. Seating is open, so arriving early is worthwhile. I arrived around 7:30 p.m. and had no trouble finding free street parking, though valet parking is also available. Most attendees dressed casually. As for me, I took the opportunity to dress like my fashionista self and the occasion is always worth it If you're looking for an inexpensive evening of live music, art, and community, don't overlook your local community center. Hidden gems like this are exactly why I enjoy exploring them. I'll definitely be back for another performance this summer. TIP: Sane day purchase is $5.00 more per ticket after 12 pm
