Convenient central location. Always bright, clean, spacious. Always fully stocked on all items. Household, Beauty, Clothes, Baby and Children Products, Food, anything you name it! You can find a lot of good quality products here, not exactly always the cheapest, but sometimes you find great deals as well. And I love that they have a Starbucks, and a dollar section! I went to target today and had a very pleasant experience. For starters, I gave it a 4 because the item I wanted was in the back but it showed that they had them. I asked one of the employees, I wish I got her name. She was so sweet, she went to the back and looked for them. It took a while but she still found one for me and brought it to me. It was so nice and helpful. I was so grateful for her. Parking is huge here and the target itself is also pretty big. It's a great place to have around. read more

I give up. Have been calling for half an hour midday and NO answer. Customer service at its poorest. All I wanted to do was alert a manager (if there is one) that the bags that you purchase for ten cents smell like tobacco. It's disgusting. I bought something yesterday (cashier closest to exit and self-checkout). Got home and the bad stinks. Went back today to get more of the item that I liked. Same checkout and same STINK. Someone buying fruit or other food could get sick from whatever is causing the odor. Wish someone, anyone, would answer the phone.Very Dissappointing. read more

DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU ARE ON A BUDGET AS YOU WILL SPEND MORE THAN YOU NEED TO.... I think Target has a new women's clothing design team because their clothing line is slayyying! I came here recently to just buy Fiji Water and ended up spending $100 on clothes... OOoOps! They have super cute skirts/dresses etc. I honestly wouldn't have guessed that it was a target brand. Their new line reminds of Anthropologie for some reason with a touch of Francesca's. It's not necessarily dirt cheap but it's not as expensive as other places. Skirts ~$20, dresses $25-30. Makeup: THEY HAVE NYX LADIES! They don't have the largest assortment of NYX but hey I'll take what I can. I would suggest coming on a weekday preferably early in the day because this brand sells out fast! The last two times I went on a weeknight it was fairly stocked! I'm impressed but come here on a weekend and they'll be out. I also love that they have Starget (aka Starbucks) and pizza hut. Very convenient for me because I get hungry while I shop. Everyone and their mothers go to this location so make sure you don't look like sh*t because you're bound to run into someone you know..maybe even that ex you have been avoiding..you'll see him buying corn pads.EWW! read more

Target is not my favorite store. I only buy here when I pretty much have to. It isn't expensive enough to have nicer things, but yet it is too expensive to be Walmart. Call me a snob, but if I want to save major money, find me at the 99 cents only store, or at any of the 5,000+ Walmart around the USA. Today I needed some diapers. Of course, they weren't on the shelf. So I tried to find somebody to help me. Nobody to be found except at the registers and in electronics. I didn't want to hike all over this huge store just to be told that they were "out of stock", so I left and didn't buy anything. As I said, I avoid this massive behemoth like the plague. guess what i just stumbled upon? i merely came in to buy deodorant...and what do i see directly at the end of the aisle....BANANAS. ***BALBOA TARGET IS OFFICIALLY A FULL GROCERY STORE*** i was giddy with excitement to find out i just so happened to shop on the first day produce is out for purchase. and i report back to you: it is goooood. 19¢ a banana. that is directly parallel to the price at trader joes (which until now i have been very loyal to b/c grocery stores [and even henrys] charge by weight and it always ends up costing more). what else do i see? PINEAPPLES. WATERMELON. STRAWBERRIES. POTATOESSSSSS. SALADS-GALORE. fresh. amazing. almost illegally soft....21" LONG french baguettes for $1.69. om nom nom nom nom. and also these cool take and bake ciabatta loaves and individuals piece bags, huge muffins, sinful cookies. gaaaah. and pretty much every veggie you could want... i gotta bump their scorecard back up to 5 stars. ive seen an amazing transformation with this target since moving to SD. major props for turning into a full fledged everything-you-need store....down to the ingredients to make ants on a log. hell yes. regular chain grocery stores...you better get your act together and offer better incentives. target is on the prowl. read more

This is one of my favorite Targets! When I'm not in the mood for the crowds at the Mission Valley one I drive here. I can shop with ease and peace of mind. It's not crowded, I always find great parking and don't have to worry about a shopping cart ramming into my car ( yes it has happened at the Mission Valley one). This store is always well stocked, organized and up to date. Red team members are always helpful and easy to find when you need assistance. They sell wine and beer but not hard liquor. This Target also has a self checkout section which is great for the times that you're in a hurry and you just need toilet paper! read more

New Target!!! Has a Starbucks cafe inside with Starbucks style furniture. They have new all plastic carts which are AWESOME! No more getting luck of the draw with the carts where some of the wheels would be stuck. I don't know if the new Target is bigger than the old Target, but it's definitely big! The employees here are so nice, my friend had 3 of them helping her with the same thing of finding a Hello Kitty tote bag, they searched the whole store but they didn't end up having it, but they found us a Target that did. Omg, I forgot to add, these two guys came in wearing red shorts (one was shirtless but had a red cross painted on him). I don't know if this was supposed to be a Halloween costume or what, but they were hot, which made my Target experience that much better, haha! read more

This is about my third time shopping at this target location and usually I don't have any problems the associates are usually nice and helpful but this time around it was a different story. I went in looking for a certain whiskey so upon arriving to the section I saw an employee and asked if he worked in this department and said " yeah what's up " already I could sense he was annoyed we asked an obvious question but you never know so that's why I asked . So my parents had asked him a question at the same time and he said " I can only answer one question at a time " from there I just walked away . I understand it's the holiday season and the workers are on edge but don't take it out on the customers if that's the case work stock so you don't have to deal with people . read more

I gave an extra star in this review for the people who work at this target. Everyone I talked to was nice- the lady who helped me in returns, the stocking guy in housewares, and my cashier Derek. All friendly, especially Derek who seemed to like his job and meeting people. That being said, the rest of the store left a lot to be desired. In women's clothing stuff was just everywhere with zero organization. I'm not just talking sizes, i mean racks would be filled with all different shirts and shorts, all sizes. You might see a style you liked but good luck finding another, let alone one in your size. Hey, maybe it would be on that next rack filled with absolutely random 20 dollar tops. Who knows, good luck. If you don't see it there, check on the floor. There were a lot of clothes there as well. Cosmetics weren't stocked, or organized. Ugh. No. The last straw was when I got home with my stuff and made the instant cheddar mashed potatoes I had purchased just an hour before. Immediately upon opening the pack I realized something was wrong. Looking at the date I realized they had expired two months ago. Yes, I recognize that it's partly my responsibility and I should check expiration dates. But these weren't eggs or milk- they're instant mashed potatoes. And I'm pretty sure they have a long shelf life. This tells me they've been sitting in this target for a looooong time. So I recommend if you're going to be buying any food items check how old they are. Should you have to? No. Should you? Yes. Gross. read more

I love coming to Target! Went to this location to buy some small toys for my daughter. She loves to collect different characters in the small bags which cost $3.00 each. She got My Little Pony and some other ones. I also love how there is a little photo booth that takes a photo of your toddler in your favorite character. See photo. We also ran into a statue of the Target dog so we took a photo of my daughter with the dog. I even have a Target Visa card which I am trying to pay off because I love shopping here. We spend most of our money buying stuff from here. There are pretty good sales. The customer service here is great. My hubby was trying to self check out with his coupon on his iPhone but the computer denied his coupon so this guy was super nice about helping him out. There is even a Starbucks in this location and a small food court if you feel like taking a break and having a snack. This location has plenty of parking in front. Great place to do all your shopping! read more

This place is huge and has a great selection of low priced stuff. I was thrilled when I saw a 72x48x18" wire shelving unit on sale for $53. Unfortunately I had buyers remorse when I actually used it. I was shocked to see one of the shelves get bent by a heavy container. I started to bend it back when I realized it was pointless as it would just bend again when I put stuff on it. I have a similar InterMetro unit I bought from the Container Store for a bit more than twice as much which never bent no matter what I put on it including me standing on it while I was testing it. You get what you pay for. Next time I'll pay the extra for the InterMetro unit. Great place for cheap consumables. Poor place for quality stuff that is gonna last through years of abuse. read more

What? Ok so another Tarjay, what's so special? Honestly, I've only been here once. It was the other night when my boyfriend was experiencing some diarrhea, headaches, nausea, and other pains so I had to run to the store and buy a bunch of stuff to try to cure him (and I think it might've worked, so yay me & yay Tarjay! that rhymed. oh yea I'm on a roll.) As I sprinted through the store, I noticed a few things. This store is clean, has a good selection of Halloween candy and treats, a FAB selection of amazingness, & awesome random sales. Let me go into a bit of detail. This Target doesn't look like it has been raided. In fact, everything looked in place and organized. It was glistening. OH! And the restroom?! It smelled fruity & good. Whoa. Cue the angels! It is overall well-stocked! Super adorable baby blue kitchen appliances (awww!), fully stocked, blingin shiny Nate Berkus staplers & scissors (out of stock at many stores for awhile), and TONS of Halloween-themed stuff (like the Count Dracula cereal!). Ok, no joke, I recently bought one of those Polaroid instant cameras for my sister for her birthday (a digi-insta hybrid one) and the film retails $15 for 30 pics. How do I know this? Because I bought the camera + those films at a Target last week. That exact film here at this Target ON SALE for $4.98. What. How can this be?!? I have no idea. Could it be timing? Could it be a one-time fluke? Sure, but hey, how will I ever know? So my conclusion is that this Target is just plain cool. Love it. I'll def be back! :) read more

They're clean, well-organized, well-stocked, and have friendly cashiers and a great staff who actually ask ME, if they can assist, before I have to go searching for someone. When I'm in San Diego I frequent it in fact I have been a loyal target customer for 20 years, I rarely go to Walmart unless there is some thing that they do not have at target which is not very often LOL but when I was here in San Diego I went in the guy was in the front was very polite he was asking me if I have a mask I told him you have to self check out, I shopped for my things and I left. This is how we should treat each other I understand that target has their corporate policy but I am also American and I have rights and I feel like when I go here at least it gets respected. First of all, the clothes and shoes selection routinely sucks. Second, tonight I went shopping late at night because I wanted to prepare for a camping trip we had tomorrow. I had a couple of bottles of alcohol in my cart. At 10:57 PM, someone comes up to me from the store and tells me that target cannot sell alcohol after 11 PM. I sprint to a checkout lane, and wait in line behind someone who, of course, has a coupon. By the time I am wrong up, it is 11:01 PM. The cashier tells me she cannot bring up the alcohol. Now, I understand having a rule, but could you please make an announcement? Or at least post signs? Ain't nobody got time for this!!!! read more

Yay for a new ishTarget. This one is very nice. I dont know why I was expecting it to have items that the other two Targets in my 'area' dont have but I was. No luck in that department. I love the new buggies, or shopping carts as you uninformed California people refer to them. Theyre plastic and very fancy looking. The store was impeccably clean. I noticed it was running extremely low on merchandise but the is potentially because they just opened, or re-opened, and need to re-stock. The associates were very helpful which was greatly appreciated. I did locate the pumpkin flavored Hershey kisses that I havent been able to find anywhere. Sweet deal. I highly recommend them. But sadly, like I said before...beyond kisses...nothing new. All well and good. Im glad this one is closer than the nasty Sports Arena one and doesnt smell like chemical escalator butt like the Mission Valley one. read more

An item I ordered online sold out of every store after purchasing it so it keep redirecting me to a new target for pickup, only to have that item not available. At first, this location took 45+ minutes to find my item. But Menchy was thorough and persistent and was able to find my order. She then apologized for the time it took, got her manager to assist me with a discount for my troubles, and then helped me load this very oversized item in my car. She is a rockstar and went the extra mile for me. -1 star for Target for the inconvenience, looks like they have some bugs they need to work out regarding online orders! read more

Worst. Remodel. Ever. No rhyme or reason to where things are, signage is invisible, aisles aren't even wide enough to move a cart through, individual department/sections are small, cramped, poorly stocked. I tried for an hour to spend money in this store today but couldn't find or get to what I needed, for the fourth time in two weeks. I've been coming to this store 2-3 times a week since I moved to the neighborhood 5 years ago. I joke that this Target has more of my disposable income than any other retailer because it's near my home and has everything I need, conveniently. But not anymore. I've tried to wait out the remodel for it to be refined or work out the kinks, but I'm done. Whatever genius concocted this ridiculous planogram FAILED. My most-valuable-retailer is no longer worth my time or money. read more

I wish my local Target was like this one! Not just for the self-checkout lanes, but for the friendly and helpful associates and the clean, well-maintained store. We had to stop here on our way up north for a few items. It was the Sunday after Thanksgiving, and fairly early in the morning, so I wasn't expecting a whole lot as far as how the shelves were stocked or the cleanliness of the space (given that Black Friday was only a couple days gone). I was pleasantly surprised, then, to walk into a clean, well-stocked store. We were able to quickly find the things we knew we needed, and the things I decided I wanted to buy before we left the store (it's a bad habit of mine, but it's not like I'm buying things that aren't needed for a specific reason! Usually...) Anyway, they had a good number of registers open at that time, even with the self-checkout lanes all being open. Our cashier was friendly and fast, and got us processed through so that we could get back on the road. I can see now why this location has such high ratings from their regular customers! read more

The store has a posted sign saying you need to wear a mask to come in, but management doesn't care and many customers are allowed to shop without wearing one. When we approached a staff member to let her know there was a large group of customers without masks in the store, she apologized and said she couldn't tell them anything and only a supervisor was allowed to do so. Definitely didn't feel safe shopping there, so we left and will not be coming back until things are back to normal. read more

Yeah big changes are coming alright(that's their slogan during the remodel)! I do a lot of shopping here for everything from under garments to groceries. What was wrong with the way the store was? It was always busy and always stocked. Today I went there and I noticed that my regular items I normally buy have gone up in price and many items were not in stock. Yes I get they are in the middle of a "huge" remodel, but come on... keep items stocked and for crying out loud get some order in this place!!! I left there with so much anxiety from all of the chaos. Usually strolling through Target gives me joy. I sure hope the remodel is completed soon! Went to buy a couple stuff for my son but accidentally went through the wrong door. The worker told me to go around so I did but when I went back in to find out he was talking crap bout me to his fellow employee. So I went up to and told him I have nothing to lose when I complain to your manager do you??? I asked his name but no answer just a blank stare ... so I asked should I get that from your manager as well ??? The only Target close to Pacific Beach is near Home Depot, Party City and ... yes, a Ranch 99. Great location on Balboa just between the 805 and Clairmont. Lots of parking but not generally on the front of the lot, but safe and clean. I frequent the place way too much -- only ONE Target close to Pacific Beach?!? read more

I ordered a few items for pick up and all the spots were filled for pick up. Being the only red car in the lot I figured I could park in the spot next to the designated pick up spot. I waited 15 minutes and a girl was walking in circles completely looking over me when I noticed my items were in her cart. I called her to me and she proceeded to say she didn't see me waving her over and canceled my pick Up since I was not in the designated spot. If all spots are filled am I supposed to keep circling until one is empty? read more

The staffs at this location don't seem helpful in some cases especially when you're up front paying. At least there are self-checkouts for me to use. Target needs to hire attentive workers, no sluggish employees. The products tend to be unstocked every there and then. There are like 15 to 20 staffs working, I'm confused.
