I love going to the target on hwy 11 in palm desert, since it was the closest to my location at the time. However Their store security Kam, has made many of my visits uncomfortable as he's always approached me in a way that made comments about my body and appearance. My close friend whom works at target has also mentioned that he's made several women and other employees feel unsafe at work. Apparently reports have been made on him several times but nothing has been recorded nor has his actions have changed. Be careful next time you visit Target in Palm desert. read more

I bought a small Lava Lamp at this Target a few says ago, for my husband. The lamp wasn't working like it should have, so yesterday I took the lamp back for an exchange. It was no hassle. Got a new lamp, and it's working just fine. There is a Starbucks right at the entry, and as soon as you get near the door, you can smell that wonderful aroma. I'm not a big coffee drinker, but I did get a Chai Tea Latte. Ohhhh yeah, just what the doctor ordered. The restroom was pretty clean, but someone needed to change out the waste paper bin, and wipe down the wet counter between the sinks. This Target is further out than the one I live nearer to, in Cat City. I actually prefer this Target. read more

I went to check out and I'm in a medical boot. It was about 9:10pm and checkout lane number 2 was open and the light was on. I went towards the check stand and got in line, the clerk had turned the light off. There were 2 customers ahead of me still with small orders, I had a large order over $100. The clerk didn't say anything until I was next in line that she was closed. She couldn't accommodate me or be courteous enough to help me. I left my cart and order behind. When I walked passed her an employee told her I left my cart. I heard her say, '"That's fine."' She doesn't represent your company or care about working there. I came here for the purpose of getting some supplies for me and my gal pal Camilla the Yelping Hen to have our on the road slumber party. I really wanted to spend my girl time with her doing little girlie things like dyeing our feathers and doing our talons. This strip mall has an annoying parking situation. It has a ton of spots, the problem is that when you enter there are all these little inlet roads and such and for someone who hasn't been here before I felt like it was unnecessary. When I entered I really looked the carts over. I wanted to make sure that I didn't get one with any flesh eating bacteria or I dunno, a diaper or something in it. I ended up picking a cart with a bum wheel. Sigh. This Target wasn't super huge but it did the job. It was full of people but I did not have to wait in line for too long so that was a bonus. They did not have any of the self check outs open which would suck if you came here to buy something shameful and didn't want to have a live person ring it up. There is a one star review from someone who yim yams about Canada. As they put down my favorite chain store because they have better things for cheaper blah blah, I can only feel like this Target sorta failed her. I realize that we are in the age of streaming music and streaming movies on TV but sometimes I like to get a CD or DVD of a movie. This Target never carries anything like that. They are even posted in their adds but when you go to get it they say we don't have any so then I end up going out to the La Quinta Target where you can find everything you need. So I never think there's a reason to write a review about a target unless it's exceptionally good or bad. Mind you, this is in regards to the PHOTO department only! !! Usually a few prints, or 7 to be exact in my case, take mer minutes and at most an hour. After an ample time of 4 hours, I strolled on in, excited for my new wall decor.... Only to find they weren't ready and only to be told that there must be an issue with the online system. That I can understand, technological issues challenge us everyday! But to be entirely indifferent and not to offer an ounce of empathy or to help problem solve in any way shape or form is unacceptable. An apology is expected in this situation and a nice throw in would be "our sincerest apologies for the inconvenience but if you'd please try resubmiting the photos, we'd be happy to give you a call and/or discount when they're ready." Would've turned this sour situation into a positive. Needless to say, target has lost a photo customer. read more

DO NOT SCHEDULE YOUR VACCINE THROUGH THEIR PHARMACY. I arrived 15 minutes early so they wouldn't take me. I started shopping and returned at 11:00 which was my appointment time. There were 3 other people now waiting and the pharmacist came out and give all three their shots. Instead of then giving me the shot he walked back into the pharmacy and started his routine work,. I asked if they were coming after I sat their for 10-15 minutes after I sat in the chair. They told me they would be there soon. Meanwhile the injection person is hearing all this. I waited another 10 minutes and then left. Screw target. Try calling, they disconnect so in other words the store manager likes managing a dysfunctional store. I refuse to go back to that store since Walmart is a better option in so many ways. read more

Stopped by this Target location while on vacation. Parking was easy to find; thank goodness for handicap parking though. In typical desert fashion, the weather was warm enough to utilize the pool and this girl right here wanted a floatie. HUGE SELECTION and variety of toys, clothes, food, home goods, etc. We spent about 30 minutes or so just playing around in the toy department, which is where they keep their swimming pool items. I chose the chocolate sprinkle doughnut floatie and was ready to head out but low and behold we found a bubble maker and ended up buying that too! As well as organic bananas. Cashier line was quick. Staff seemed polite. Overall, we had a fine shopping experience at this Target. read more

Every time I visit Palm Desert I seem to end up here, that's a good thing. It's much better than any other Target I've ever been to. Not once has it been crowded. Where I work there is a strictly enforced dress code. That means hosiery is a must. So this is where I stock up on necessities, like thigh high stockings - essentials for how I dress for work. Oodles of them, (1 run & they're history), with plenty to spare. After all, who wants to wear nylons in the desert? read more

I came here last Sunday to do a pickup order. I had my son with me, and he started acting up while I was waiting in line. Courtney immediately came over and offered him some stickers while I wait. It was time for a pit stop and the only big box department store I'd trust is Target. I'd just gotten off the phone with a gay friend from Austin who was shacked up in San Francisco with some bear daddy he flew out to see, when Jen announced she needed to stock up on some basics. And by basics, I guess she meant $200+ worth of underwear. While she was making her selections, I got bored and tried to find hot pink flip flops in my size to see if I could ever, under any circumstances, pull them off. A quick glance in the foot-mirror and a disapproving look from a toddler informed me that the answer was clearly no. I'd almost forgotten I needed undershirts, which was part of the reason I was there. I don't usually wear brands that use Charlie Sheen or Michael Jordan as "celebrity" spokesmen, but my choices were limited and I'd probably end up chucking them after the trip anyway if they didn't fit in my carry on. Better to throw away Hanes than Hanro. I reconnected with Jen in the discount DVD area where we combed the $5 rack for a movie we could watch wasted later. She grabbed "Beaches" instantly. I love Star Wars, and Fight Club, and violent action movies...but for some reason I've never seen "Beaches" (There's a ton of anachronistic things in what I know--and don't know--about gay culture that surprises even me). I chose the less emotional "Baby Mama", which is probably much better after a half dozen martinis anyway. For $5, who cares; everyone loves Tina Fey. Passing the groceries, Jen grabbed a squeezable Miracle Whip and told me to do a Lady Gaga finger-around-the-eye pose for a picture a la the "Telephone" video. Eh, what the hell. Turned out OK. In the makeup section she sampled skin cream and I bought a travel toothbrush holder. I was disappointed not to find any cosmetics made by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olson. Then again, that was Wal-Mart, and then again, that was years ago when I bought that lip gloss. As a joke. I decided to check out first because I hadn't placed what looked like half the pajama section into the cart. Our checker was named Edgar, and Edgar was cute. When Cute Edgar announced the total, I thought it seemed a little high for undershirts and a DVD. The culprit? "Baby Mama" had rung up at $9. I told him I got it in the $5 section, and he said it might have been misplaced. I said misplaced or not, "Baby Mama" was barely worth $5, and I wouldn't buy it on principle unless he gave it to me for that price. No deal. He kind of got the joke, but mostly just looked at me like I was messing with his world by asking him to perform a void. Hm. Cute Edgar might be kind of dense, too. Oh well, most of the time the cute ones are. Good service though. What a fabulous Target. No crowds, no bombed-out aisle-ways, and plenty of help if you needed it. I never knew Targets could be compared, but Palm Desert's had a certain "je ne sais quois"... ...And see? Got a $20 Target gift card and decided to get a few food items to replenish the pantry. I was underwhelmed. I was expecting to find prices comparable to Wal-Mart but found them closer to Pavilions. What was especially galling was that I just needed a few potatoes, not 5 pounds. The sign next to the un-bagged potatoes said 89 cents, so I bought three, thinking at 89 cents a pound that wouldn't cost much. Was I ever wrong! The price turned out to be 89 cents EACH and so I paid $2.67 for about a pound-and-a-half of potatoes when I could have bought 5 pounds for $2.99. Rip-off! And their produce selection is miniscule, too. Maybe they have decent prices on some non-food items, but if you're looking for food, drive to Vons a couple of miles east on Highway 111. Better selection, better prices. read more

Was visiting Palm Desert and visited this Target twice last week. After getting home and reviewing receipts I noticed that the items purchased did not equal the total charge. My two shopping visits had a mysterious undocumented charge of 40 cents and 50 cents. This is not a huge amount and hopefully this is just a charge for bags but why is it not listed on the receipt? I'm not really sure what it is but it's not included in the individual charges so why is it included in the total charge??? read more

I went into the mens clothing area of this Target yesterday and in two minutes I was back out the door because I was appalled at the condition the store allows their clothing area to be in. It literally looked like a garage sale had happened. All shelves were in a total mess. Items of clothing were actually laying on the floor. I dont expect a Target to look like a department store but at the same time if this is how Target disrespects their customer why should I give them my business? Target (please to say with a French accent), how I love thee. Nevermind that you are now 40 minutes from my house in either blistering heat or biting cold. I love you. You never fail me. Whether I need biore nose strips, car wax, a bag of candy, a wiimote, or new towels. One of my best gal pals used to work here and she told me when I moved out to the area that THIS target should be my one stop shop for all my needs. Was she being corporation loyal? Probably. Was she committing atrocious acts of hyperbole when describing how well stocked this place was? Definitely NOT. They have a great women's clothing section, and since population density is low in this area you are sure to find the style you want in your size. I know, it's amazing, this has never happened to me. Same could be said of shoes. They have a great rotation of sales in the back corner and my husband and I always pick up something cute for our house back there - you know, a couple of tiki torches, a hammock, etc. It even boasts a well stocked food section. So well stocked in fact, that I did our grocery shopping here one cool night and got us all our frozen goods. This is your standard well stocked, well lit, well laid out Target. It is slightly older than the one down in Cathedral City, but it is our favorite one. read more

This Target is pretty cool! I love the selection of Amy's meals they have and the price! This target has them for $3.89 a piece where Albertson's and Whole Foods have them for $4.99. I will continue to shop here just for that. They are a staple for me during the work week! They also have a nice selection of natural products. The store is pretty clean and organized.
