I explored the bath and beauty section and found creams that I use as well as some Berts bees makeup which has an SPF factor. My husband was searching for a bathing suit and found a great suit for just $10 in the men's department. There was a very cute display of Halloween merchandise near the door, which even included some life-size fun looking skeletons . This store is one of the more spacious Marshall's, making it easier to move through the clothes racks and shoes. Prices are reasonable, and there is a good selection of tops, pants, dresses, and athletic clothes, men, women, and kids sizes. There is plenty of parking too. Great Marshalls conveniently located, when I'm in Rancho Mirage, I always stop in to check out the merchandise and hopefully discover a "find!" Even though Marshalls stores generally carry similar merchandise, clothing styles sometimes differ based on location. This location was clean, well stocked, organized, and since I was here during Thanksgiving, overflowing with holiday decor, wrapping paper, gifts and even holiday pet items. Even the popular gnomes were blinged out in sparkles for the holidays. There was a nice selection of handbags, accessories, and the best beach hats - no surprise! Lots of kitchen utensils, dinnerware, bathroom towels, sheets and bedding, too. Especially liked the offerings for outdoor seating and dining, but obviously no way to get it back to Portland. The store is always clean and somewhat organized that's a plus. However the customer service is nonexistent and they can NOT be bother especially if there gossiping with other employees. Last night I had the worst experience at the check stand. I was just standing there waiting and waiting for the employee to tell me my total so I could pay and check out but nope she had to finish her conversation with another employee. I was fed up So I asked excuse what is my total and boy oh boy did that pissed her off and rudely said it's on the screen. I'm sorry but that employee was a joke. Worse customer service lines. Never enough employees to run the cash wrap. If you have nowhere to be and don't mind waiting endlessly in mind you might be okay. Otherwise, maybe come first thing in the morning before it gets hectic. read more

This has to be the best Marshalls I've ever been to (the second best is the one on Camelback Road in Phoenix, Arizona). It's super clean, impeccably organized, staffed with courteous and high quality employees, checkout lines moved super fast, and the inventory was top-notch. This location carries all the Marshalls basics, but the racks are full and well stocked. Shoes were offered in nearly every size, including hard to find size 5s and size 11s. The clothing was in great condition and the rows of housewares, notorious for being the "tornado alley" zone of Marshalls, were ship-shape. My jaw dropped. They have a particularly good selection of candles (great for gift giving). I may have arrived the same day a stock truck came in but I was most impressed with the stuff for sale. After nightfall, be aware that the parking lot is really, really dark. It may be wise to park close to the entrance if you're shopping alone. read more

I was in Palm Desert, Indian Wells area on business. I wasn't expecting to stay overnight, so I had nothing with me. With that being said I did have to get clothing and everything else for the stay. The store was clean and organized and the staff was very friendly. I found everything I needed. When I'm in the area I will be back to Marshalls. read more

OK, so my true colors...or at least my wifes true colors are coming out at last. We are a single income familyby choice, so shopping on a budget is sorta what Carrolynne does and DOES WELL. I am never subjected to the dirty world (or so I assumed) of discount shopping. Normally I let her know what I am looking for - Jeans, Golf Shirt, shoes...whatever, and miraculously a few days later, 3-4 pairs of Jeans, 3-4 shirts, and a few options on shoes are waiting when I get home from work. I choose what i like, and just as miraculously, the rest is gone the next day. BUT, I am super picky and only like the best. So one would think.."dilemma" right? No! Time and time again, i show up to choose between True Religion. Kenneth Cole, Ben Sherman etc... Finally, I experienced it first hand...Thanksgiving weekend out in LaQuinta with the inlaws. Saturday find myself needing to get away from the confines of watching TV with my father in law, off to the mall we went. Viola, Marshall to the rescue. As i walked in, i was surprised at the cleanliness and order of everything. Went to the shoe department - Patagonia sneakers for $20? Serious? to make a long story not so long...$140 later, pair of shoes for me and 2 sweaters, jacket, 2 t shirts and 2 skirts for the wife all top quality name brands.. dang..the shoes I got are on the Patagonia site for $85 right now...crazy!! Now dont get me wrong, I doubt I will find myself frequenting Marshalls ( i hate shopping), however, I will wholeheartedly encourage my wife to continue her bargain hunting there. read more

This store is very neat and organized, even during peak hours (Which is amazing because discount stores usually are not!). The staff is incredibly helpful and very nice without being pushy or overbearing. When the line got long, the manager even got on a register to help the line go quick. I think this Marshalls location is pretty tied with the Palm Springs one. They both have great variety and the selection is always fresh. Pretty big store and I always manage to get whatever I need in there and more. Returns and exchanges are a breeze and the cashiers are not pushy about getting you on the Marshalls credit card. My boyfriend and I have bought a few things for our home here, and I've also found some fashionable pieces to add to my wardrobe too. We visit this location whenever we are in the PD area! read more

Purchase shoes, a dri fit shirt, a dri fit hoodie, socks and jeans. The sales clerk does not offer to bag the items...had to walk to my car trying to hold onto the entire purchase. Looked at 5 other customers leaving the store and they all had the typical paper bags. Not sure why I was not offered a bag, but the grouchy latina clerk had a face that no one could love! read more

As a frequent shopper I must say this is by far one of the best Marshall's I've been to! Everything is neatly organized, displays are very noticeable and pleasing to the shoppers eye, there's a lot more variety and sizes of clothing and shoes that's harder to find in other locations. The staff is kind, courteous and incredibly helpful and there's plenty on the floor to help you with the best shopping experience. The line may look long (for good reason) but there's never a long wait because the employees are efficient! Will definitely be back! read more

On 9/6 at approx. 12:30 pm I went in to Marshalls to make a return/exchange on 2 baby outfits that fit my child too small. Since I had made the purchase 2 weeks prior and all the tags were on the items I knew it shouldn't be a problem. A Russian clerk helped me first and she thoroughly examined the items like TSA would examine something suspicious. She then called her manager (black and white bi-racial) woman which was had a register right next to her. She then put tags on them that only had partial credit and proceeded to tell me that was the amount I would be getting back since I purchased them a long time ago. Which was lie #1. I then told her that I would go to another Marshalls and she said in a loud tone that they were going to do the same exact thing. Lie #2. I went to the Palm Springs location and they took care of it immediately as they should. I don't know why this woman that someone made manager lied to me twice and then wanted to embarrass me in front of others by speaking to me in a loud tone. I shop at Marshalls on a weekly basis for the last 15 years since I love deals and I love to shop. This is the only negative experience I have had so far. read more

This store is great, lots of bargains and the return policy is fair. I do think they could rotate or sale price their items on a more frequent basis, however.Some of the clothing just sits there, when they could reduce it further and move in new things. And I love the gourmet food - EXCEPT when something has been opened, please do not tape it shut and leave it on the sale shelf. I have seen this time and time again, this is not acceptable, and it looks very tacky. When the food is near expiry date, it's time to get it off the shelf by SLASHING the price, and in with the new.
