It's alway nice to have a browse and see what they have. Such a good selections on home items and decors. Furniture is quite nice as well. Their wine and champagne selections are always pretty impressive. I like to have a wander through the apparel as some things are quite nice. Give or take depending on the season. During the holidays, the place has a really good variety of holidays ornaments and gifts. But I come for my British sweets. The biscuits and shortbread. A good amount of items to choose from. Then you have all the other, crisp, tea and so on. They are a little pricer but it's a given with international cost. If there's a sale, loads up on the things as there's always a great deal.

Mid day, we walked in, looking around, picking up a few items and figured we'd see an employee on the floor to let them know we were here to pick up our order. No one was around, just a somewhat beleaguered looking fellow running a register that had 'crashed' and he was stuck. Having to go to another register to ring up paying customers. There was another couple trying to make a return, which is when his register crashed on him, so now they are standing around while the cashier was trying to summon for assistance and here we are asking for our order, but (rightfully so) he really couldn't leave the register. The cashier was trying his best to get some help with no luck. So us and the folks (very nice people and far more patient than I!) are getting a bit annoyed. It's been fifteen minutes for us, no idea how long the other couple had been waiting. I went outside and called the store, and a woman answered and said that I and another couple are at the register and need some help. OK was about all she had to say. Another ten minutes pass, now the other couple is calling the store we're standing in and to please come assist us all, customers and cashier alike. Finally along comes "Summer" , clearly unhappy, less than friendly. Saying they were "in a meeting." Seriously? There are cameras everywhere, the cashier had been requesting help over their radios and they were too busy in their #^%* meeting? Are you kidding me? This particular store is a small one, but they are extremely friendly and helpful. Easy to work with and try on clothes and will help order something if it's not there. Orders usually arrive very quickly. They offer really great deals with their TORRID cash program. It has made buying clothes that fit and are tailored for curvy women a fun experience again. A really chill environment to shop and not pushy at all by the sales people. Also, I notice the same people working there often, which tells me that they must treat their employees well for them to stick around. The quality of the material is solid. Worth it.

It turned out that extra items had been added to my bill without explanation. I went back to the same cashier, who didn't seem at all surprised by the extra charge. The lack of concern on her part only added to my frustration. The following day, I called and spoke with the manager. She mentioned that the discrepancy could have been due to something she was looking up, but I pointed out that the cashier had just totaled someone else's purchases before me. This left me with the impression that the error wasn't an isolated incident, but perhaps part of a recurring issue. Overall, the experience at Torrid in Palm Desert Mall was disappointing. The unexpected overcharge and the indifferent attitude from both the cashier and the manager have left me questioning the store's attention to detail and customer service. I hope they address these issues soon, as no one should have to deal with such an inconvenience. I was told that I would receive a follow up call that is still pending.

I was immediately greeted by the very wonderful, specific smell that wafts through Hallmark stores and my senses took me back to childhood shopping excursions with my Mom to buy holiday cards at our local Hallmark. The store is chock full of cards and wrap, which makes it worth stopping here to get something unique. There are all kinds of decor and licensed products displayed in a weaving pattern which made the floor pattern interesting. I have continued to shop here for my wrap and cards since first stopping in last year, knowing that there will be a selection of cards for nieces and nephews that I just can't find anywhere else. On top of that, the ladies who work there are so cheerful and seem like they are having the time of their life. It is so wonderful to be around such good energy!

At 11am the S.A. comes over unlocks the door and walks away immediately. She clearly saw us standing there and couldn't be bothered to actually push the door open to let us know. I mean, it would've required an extra 2 seconds of effort. I almost wanted to leave at this point but I really needed my shampoo. Inside, there were about 10 SAs just hanging around, chatting amongst themselves. Got my shampoo and got in line to pay (had to wait of course because there was only 1 person behind the counter and the 9 others were busy chatting).
