First of all, I am an Interior Designer for over 32 years. For my more "budget" projects, I've been shopping HomeGoods in various location in Los Angeles for decades. I have always found the staff, friendly and helpful. A year ago, I decided to move to Palm Desert and continued my Residential Interior Design here. I've been to this specific store a few times now. I am not sure what is going on at this location, "Palm Desert CA ", but the staff look extremely unhappy and unfriendly. specifically one gentleman who calls himself the store manager, but he is not. I have seen him picking fights with different clients almost every time I go there. I have tried to strike a friendly note with him, trying to calm him down. At one occasion, out loud, he was telling a client that his position there is what people say to "choose wisely" at the beginning of your career. Once he was staring down at a client to a point where the lady started yelling " Are you staring me down? may I talk to your manager?" and with a great attitude, he responded, "you are talking to him." Long story short, last time I was there I was doing heavy shopping for a 85 year-old woman. Nothing big knickknacks and kitchen items and Home Staples. I was doing a small project for her here at the desert. she has various ailments and I had to be careful choosing the right products for her, which are light enough and easy to operate. Thus, it took me over two hours in the store to do selection of various items for her.. I think that had raised a red flag with the staff. I was treated so poorly there. I had over five workers approaching me and asking " can we help you with something? it seems you've been here for a long time . Every time I would respond, yes I am buying for a client. I need to make the right the selections. it takes time . I do understand store security is important and shrinkage is a problem, but not everybody is a thief. I do believe I am well dressed and I don't like a bum. At the end, yes, the same gentleman approached me aggressively with the same question. I broke out in anger, saying "is there a problem sir? " I'm spending over $800 worth of products here. Nevertheless, I was followed by him until I went to the checkpoint and paid for the products and left the building. Funny enough, he knows me from previous purchases through him, which always has been over five to $600. I tried to make a complaint to their head offices. I got a email saying that my concern has been sent to the store Manager Sylvia "something" and she will get back with me ASAP. This was a month ago and no response. Again, it's a pity. I love this store and most probably I will be shopping at their other locations, but this one definitely has some major staffing and management issues. Needless to say I will not be returning there. This is a nice, spicy TJ's location. Our own has gotten so drab that the color range seems to be only blue, beige or brown. This one has a wide range of items in many different categories. The store was featuring a clearance while we were there, and there were numerous racks in the aisles with clothes from past seasons. I didn't find my wedding guest dress, but I scooped up two pairs of sports pants one black and one white, and a couple of glittery tops for next holiday season. I'll return to hunt the racks again, and find more treasures to add to my wardrobe! read more

Stopped by TJ Maxx while I was on vacation and ended up finding some great deals. They had a nice selection of clothes and accessories, and the prices were hard to beat. The store was clean and easy to shop, and checkout was quick. It was a fun stop during the trip and worth checking out. read more

One of my favorite TJ Maxx stores to go to. They have a huge selection of items from clothes to so many random things you didn't even know you needed. So many clothes to choose from. Everything is organized and easy to look through, and the vibe is just fun to shop around in this area. I definitely recommend it. It's a place that I don't mind spending time in. read more

The prices and selections can't be beat, but customer service was one star. They now say they can't give you the little receipt that comes when you buy a gift card. They handed me the whole bill! They always used to give it upon request. I won't be buying gift cards there read more

This is one of my favorite TJ Maxx locations!! They always have great finds here, I think because Palm Springs is not as busy as the locations in Orange County maybe?? But I always find gems here from their jewelers, to fun snacks, athletic wear and bathing suits. Stopping in is always a highlight of my staycation in the Palm Springs area. read more

The exterior of this TJMaxx looks beat down and worn. I'm guessing they are painting this at some point. Anyway, this palm desert location is on a great strip mall with many options for shopping. It is also a pretty big TJMaxx. This TJMaxx is clean and organized. I don't think I've ever seen bikes sold at TJMaxx before but this one had one. It seems to be a pretty good deal to me. I like shopping at a variety of TJMaxx stores as you get special things sold only at the one place. I also like the make up sold at TJMaxx. You can get some high end stuff for half the price. read more

We stopped by this TJ Maxx on our recent visit to Palm Dessert and loved it. This location is much bigger than the TJ Maxx in my area. Parking is easy and very convenience with other stores in the same area. I like how it iv very clean, organized, easy to find items and NOT very crowded even on a weekend. Dressing rooms are nice, and the checkout was quick. I was able to find items that I need and in addition pick up items that I do not need but CAN'T resist because of the reasonable prices. I had one of the worst experiences at this store, I asked for a price for a cosmetic item that did not have a price, it looked like someone took it out of the box., I asked a lady for help getting a price and she referred me to this rude women name Elle. The way she talked to me was so humiliating in front of my boys, she told me the item was too expensive for me to afford, insinuating that I took it out of the box, kept going about how she couldn't find a price because it was an only item. She took the item out of my hand and said it was a high end item and too expensive for me. I asked ok once you find a price please take it to the front counter for me, and again she made a super rude comment, she said since it is the only one I will have to call another store to tag it, if not send back to the manufacturer.! Basically telling me she couldn't sell it to me. I have been shopping at tjmaxx and Marshalls all my life and I know they don't send anything back to the manufacturer. I can only give my MAN-POV (point of view). Drum roll: Hell, YES. It's the best discount store in the area. For TJ Maxx, I'm really interested in 3 departments of things: food, kitchen & cooking items, and home decor items. Occasionally, hair & soap items, men's clothing, men's shoes, men's cologne, jewelry (watches), and luggage. In all categories, TJ Maxx is a great store to try. The prices are absurd for items, often 33-50% off retail. More positive things to say about this location: ==================================== 1. This was a nice TJ Maxx store. Highly organized, clean, lots of clearance items and clean restrooms, dressing rooms. Lines weren't too long and service was fast. It's located in a large shopping complex with lots of parking. One thing I observed was some impatience as one idiot was speeding through looking for parking. I surprised him, as I was walking through a spot to cross over and he almost hit me. Nice going, nationwide is contagious with greedy, speedy, "me first" jerks. When in Palm Springs last weekend we needed a few small items, including a charging cord to use with the car charger. I knew that T.J. Maxx has a lot of electronics accessories for reasonable prices up near the registers as impulse items, so we dropped in. While there, I took a fast pass through the departments. I was looking for a new bathing suit, and thought that here in the desert they would have a great selection. Never did find it, sadly. At the register, the cashier asked me if I'd been able to find what I needed, and I mentioned the lack of swimwear. She said it was next to activewear, but I'd been there and didn't see any. Speaking of cashiers, the line to check out was substantial. It was a Saturday. Popular day at the Maxx! I did get the USB cable I needed for a newer Samsung phone, among all the Apple accessories, so that was a score. Also yielded to temptation and bought a bag of rice / flax seed / quinoa snacks, drizzled with a hint of chocolate. To bridge the gap between breakfast and dinner, they hit the spot. $2 on clearance. Came today on a Sunday at 7:44pm, the store closes at 8 as per hours online and in window. The manager here turns customers away 15 mins before the store closes and locks the door. I knocked on the window and she came and told me "we are closed it's already almost 8oclock" I shower her my phone and watch that it was 7:44 she replied "that's not the correct time" I said yes it is the correct time my phone is on satellite time. She replied "well that is not the time we have in the store for our computers everything is closed in 6 mins." I told her "Look it's 7:45 now if u don't let me in I will call your Manager as well as corporate " She told me she was the manager and let me in telling me I needed to hurry because they are closed, mind you it's still 7:45. I shouldn't be writing this review but it's absolutely ridiculous my receipt even shows their store computers were in the correct time I checked out at the register at 7:54 ! I'm never EVER comming back here again because of this poor business practice ! Manager lying that their clocks are 10 mins ahead that they close in 5 min and turnin paying customers away so they don't stay past 8. Very poor business practice ! Even if they were closing in 5 mins that's more then enough time for me to grab the stuff I already knew I wanted to purchase. read more

T J Maxx - Department Stores Near Me - Palm Desert, California

This location of this TJ is one of the larger ones here in the valley, matching the size of Palm Springs store. (the smallest one resides in La Quinta.) I enjoy coming here for the wide selection and for the great customer service. I'm a frequent shopper of all of the chains Desert locations but really favor this store the most. My number one reason for that is a few specific employees who make me feel welcome and never get an attitude if I need to return. One in particular is the awesome Jennifer, a cashier who had my name memorized the first time she helped me with my purchases. She is always friendly, personable and professional. She is the epitome of excellent employee. I hope she gets promoted to manager someday should she desire the position. My favorite department is Jewelry. Most of my current costume jewelry is from this store. The designs are terrific and the prices far less than the competitors. Here I have made friends with several of the salesladies who are extremely sweet and helpful. They also have good buys on make-up offering nice discounts on top brands and a great selection of everything one would need to pamper the face and body. The pet department is another frequent stop for me and my fur child Sonny Lee. I have bought him countless toys and a great selection of sweaters in the past 3 years. This store has always welcomed him and never once appeared annoyed that he accompanies me while shopping. Last, but certainly not least, I truly love their rewards program. By using their black credit card you receive points every purchase. With your points you earn 10.00 gift certificates. This month I received 40.00 free spending money. All of the TJMaxx and Marshall's shops here in our desert are my favorites to shop. I remain most loyal to this location for the above reasons and more. read more

Clean location. Quite organized. Clean carts and hand sanitizer were available upon walk in. Loong lines but is that anything new when shopping at tj Maxx or Marshall's. Shoe selection was limited. Yet I found all the Halloween and thanksgiving decor I was looking for. read more

I'm so embarrassed! I was shopping at tj maxx & I needed to use the restroom. While in the restroom that has only 2 stalls btw... I was occupying one stall & someone else was in the other. I guess a line formed in the restroom area of 2 people waiting to use the facilities. It was taking me longer because I was having a bm. While in the potty my phone beeped & a woman standing outside said... "Sounds like someone is in there using their phone! She needs to get out of the toilet & go outside to be on her phone". Omg I was pooping & so was the person in the other stall. & my phone was in my purse hanging up on the hook. I finished my business & exited the stall. When I came out I said to her "excuse me but I wasn't on my phone but I needed to take care of my bowel"! She just rolled her eyes at me & much to my surprise it was an employee of tj maxx! I then proceeded to go wash my hands & guess what all 3 soap dispensers were empty! The 2 other ladies waited for the restroom were so nice & apologized for her behavior. I then said out loud so she would hear me that there was no soap!! Hello COVID times & no soap totally unacceptable! I proceeded to exit the restroom & continue shopping. The employee came out & saw me shopping & just SHOOK her head at me. My 30 yr old daughter saw this & said mom why did she do that, so I told my daughter what had happened in the restroom. We decided to speak to the manager about her behavior. So we asked for the manager & behold it was the same employee that was in the restroom. Her name is TRUDY! She came up to us & said what do you want. I told her I couldn't believe how she treated me in the restroom. Her response was you were in there for over 5 min. She said I was trying to speed you along cuz other people needed to use the restroom! Well I'm sorry TRUDY I can't control the poop coming out of my ass!! She then proceeded to get into it with my daughter right there in the middle of the store & telling my daughter I was taking to long! Omg I was so embarrassed cuz customers were walking by & let me tell you she let everyone know I was pooping in the restroom. Customers were literally walking up & saying they were so sorry for me being treated that way especially by a manager. I then asked TRUDY for her GM'S name & # I was told she's on vacation & wouldn't give me her name or #! I will be calling corporate! what a mess, the store is run so poorly, the manager, Bell is awful, poor management, lets the store run down, allows employees to speak in Spanish and not English, even on head sets, actually told employees she doesn't follow corp rules, she runs it her way and it isn't working, she needs to be replaced. the older employees work harder than the younger ones and has them run to a register when only 1 person is in line and they cant work the floor, so the dressing room is a mess because they kept having the older employees run to the front, the really large, fat woman who works the register, Julie, is so slow and useless and has others do her job because she is too lazy to do it herself, real control freak. They need new management in there that really know what they are doing. read more

Today I visited the store in Palm Desert California. I was accused of using the disabled dressing room with out having a disability when I do. The employee working the dressing room Monday Nov.12, 2018 @ 4:30pm by the name of Andie B's words were "well you are lucky you don't look disabled." When I pointed it out to her that I had a right to use it and she should not make assumptions, the customer she was helping said to me "you are ugly!" Of course I got upset because this was so unnecessary. Had Andie B. been more professional this would have never happened. After Andie B. saw me upset she said "Oh get over it, it's the Holidays." I am very disappointed in her customer service. I shared with the store manager how she treated me. I really hope that Andie B. gets reprimanded for her discriminating behavior towards me today. I really liked some stuff that I was going to purchase but unfortunately I can not shop at a business where I know employees discriminate. read more
